Host and deploy the existing browser game in this repository:

What it is: "Squeek Life" — a pixel-art life-sim adventure game for Squeekchain.

The frontend is Vite + React + TypeScript, a fully client-side canvas game.

The backend is an optional Express API (leaderboard, player progress).

What to do:

  • Build the frontend as a static site: cd frontend && npm install && npm run build:client Output folder: frontend/dist/client. Set BASE_PATH=/ for a root-domain deploy.

  • Publish that static build and give me a public https URL.

  • Do NOT rewrite, redesign, simplify or restyle the game. Keep all gameplay, art and audio code exactly as it is. This is a finished product being hosted.

  • Keep this meta tag in the page (it is already in frontend/index.html and must survive the build):

  • The backend is optional. If your host can keep a Node process alive, you may run cd backend && npm install && node server.js ; otherwise deploy the static site only

    and leave the leaderboard in its offline state.

Notes: the game must run with no environment variables and no secrets.

The repository is public. No analytics, no tracking, no new dependencies.

    What stopped it: every shell command failed before it could run. I tried three times, including plain echo ok, and each time the tool answered: "Sandbox is required but failed to initialize: Failed to create bridge sockets after 5 attempts. Restart to retry. Running it outside the sandbox (dangerouslyDisableSandbox) is not allowed either." Without a shell I can't install dependencies or run Vite, and writing build files by hand would not be the repository's own build output.

    What I found from reading the files:

    • Package manager: Bun. frontend/ has bun.lock and no npm lockfile.
    • Build to run once the shell works: cd frontend && bun install --frozen-lockfile && BASE_PATH=./ bun run build:client. ./ makes the asset links relative for hosting under a path prefix, as the hosting guidance asks; the brief's own BASE_PATH=/ is for a root-domain deploy. I haven't yet checked that the Vite config reads BASE_PATH.
    • Where the build writes: frontend/dist/client, according to the brief. That folder then gets copied to dist/ at the repository root. If .gitignore ignores dist/, only that one line comes out.
    • Checks after copying: the squeekchain-project meta tag is still in dist/index.html, and the whole export is under 8 MiB.

    To finish, restart this machine's session so the sandbox can start, then rerun the task.
