I built the site: Pepe Wire, a one-page site ranking eight real X posts about IdentityMD. It's dark green, with a pepe in a glowing AI visor holding a neural blaster. It's committed on main with the source, lockfile and the finished export in dist/. Asset URLs are relative, and the whole submission bundle is 184 KB.

The content is a snapshot, not a live feed. X has no public search that works without a login, so the site can't fetch "top tweets" itself. Instead:

    • I took eight post IDs from an earlier public IMD launch repo (launch-1320).
    • I fetched their text, authors, avatars and counts fresh today from FxTwitter's public API (no login needed), using scripts/capture-posts.mjs. Nothing was typed in by hand.
    • "Top" means ranked within those eight, not across all of X, and the counts will drift from what X shows live.
    • To change the posts, edit the ID list in that script, then run npm run capture-posts and npm run build.

What the page does: search the posts, filter by author, sort by most liked, most viewed or newest, expand long posts, and open any post on X. If a search matches nothing, a "Clear filters" button resets it. At 390 wide, the headline, search, sort and the first post all fit on the first screen. The page has a title, favicon, description, og:title and a 1200×630 share image.

Checks, all run on the final build:

    • Typecheck and build: npm run typecheck and npm run build both finish with no errors.
    • Interactions: 29 of 29 passed in a Playwright script. It covered sorting, keyboard use, search, the empty state, the author filter, expand and collapse, the links and the skip link. There was no sideways scrolling at 320, 390, 768, 1024 or 1440 wide, and no console or loading errors.
    • Design probe (taste.mjs): 16 of 16 checks passed. I also looked at the screenshots myself at each width.
    • Better Interface review: I covered all six areas and fixed four issues. The main ones:
      • Input and button borders were too faint against the cards (1.94:1). They're now 3.75:1, above the 3:1 minimum.
      • When a long post was cut short, the "…" sometimes sat alone on a blank line. Long posts now show a clean excerpt that ends on a word.

Not done: no screen-reader session, no native 200% zoom, no high-contrast (forced-colors) mode test and no real phones. At 320 wide, the "Newest" sort button wraps onto its own row; it still works.

    Where the docs are:

    • README.md: how to install, preview and rebuild, plus the check results.
    • DESIGN.md: colors, type, layout, components and responsive behavior.
    • artifacts/validation.md: the full review record. It and the two screenshots in artifacts/ are not in the commit, because the task's own git settings exclude that folder; I assumed it's collected separately.

Not delivered: artifacts/screenshots/1440.png, artifacts/screenshots/390.png, artifacts/validation.md. Under artifacts/, only this step's named outputs leave the machine.

    • “A website showing the top tweets about identity MD” — met for the eight-post snapshot: posts and engagement ranking in src/data/posts.json and src/feed.ts.
    • “dark green” — met: palette in src/styles.css.
    • “a theme of pepes armed with AI” — met: visor, chip and blaster illustration in public/pepe-armed.svg.

Pepe Wire is a ranked IdentityMD post reader whose visual theme is a Pepe carrying AI equipment against dark green surfaces.

Two verified findings are recorded in .imd-findings.json:

    • Medium bug: expanding the longest post stretches its collapsed neighbor from 408px to 4,326px tall.
    • Medium accessibility: WebKit loses the sort control’s focus ring after arrow-key navigation.

Both include exact source citations, measured reproductions and browser-tested CSS fixes. Chromium and WebKit interactions were reviewed; website files remain unchanged.

    • mediumbug: expanding a long post stretches its neighboring card across several screenssrc/styles.css:313

Now: The desktop feed stretches both cards to the height of the expanded post. Its collapsed neighbor grows from 408px to 4,326px; its author, excerpt, expansion button and X link become separated by large empty areas.

Change to: Add align-items: start to .posts so each list item retains its own content height when the adjacent post expands.

Why: Expanding one post should not redistribute the contents of another post or move its controls several screens away from its excerpt.

At 1440×900 in Chromium or WebKit, load the page with Most liked selected.

Scroll to rank 7 (LastToSign, 10 Aug 2026; X status 2086860795741184283) and click Show full post.

Observe the still-collapsed rank 8 card beside it (status 2093052175538659353).

In Chromium its article height changes from 407.72px to 4325.63px; its header grows from 44px to 827.58px, and its Show full post button grows from 44px to 827.58px.

The rank 8 X link moves from document y=1998.47px to y=5916.38px although rank 8 was not expanded.

The screenshot shows several screens of empty space between that card’s excerpt and controls.

Expected: only rank 7 expands; rank 8 retains its compact card and adjacent controls.

    • mediumaccessibility: WebKit loses the sort control’s focus ring after arrow-key navigationsrc/styles.css:271

Now: Tabbing into the sort group shows its focus ring, but pressing an arrow key in WebKit removes the ring from the newly focused radio. The native input is transparent, and the visible segment is outlined only for :focus-visible, which stops matching in this state.

Change to: Replace .segment input:focus-visible + span with .segment input:focus + span, retaining the existing 2px outline and 2px offset. This keeps the visible control outlined while its radio owns focus.

Why: Keyboard focus must remain visible throughout the main interaction (WCAG 2.4.7). The selected fill alone persists after focus leaves the group, so it does not identify keyboard focus.

In WebKit at 390px wide (also reproduced at 1440px), load the page and press Tab six times to focus Most liked.

Its span has outline-style: solid and outline-width: 2px.

Press ArrowRight once: Most viewed becomes checked and document.activeElement.value is views, but its input matches :focus and no longer matches :focus-visible.

All three visible segment spans now have computed outline-style: none; the ring remains absent after 300ms and after another ArrowRight to Newest.

Expected: the focused segment keeps its visible ring.

A temporary browser-only override using .segment input:focus + span restores the 2px ring in both widths.
