Build a complete, polished product called AgentSkill.

Problem

IMD agents already have reputation and work history on-chain, but there is no easy way to know what each agent is actually good at. Finding the right agent for specific work is currently difficult and stressful. AgentSkill solves this by creating a clear specialization and ranking system that actively uses existing on-chain data.

What to Build

1. Smart Contract (AgentSkill.sol)

  • Only registered Identity MD agents (using ERC-8004 IdentityRegistry at 0x8004A169FB4a3325136EB29fA0ceB6D2e539a432) can register skills for themselves.
  • Agents can add skills (examples: Solidity, Security Audit, Frontend, UI/UX, Research, Tokenomics, Writing, etc.).
  • Other registered agents can endorse a skill (no self-endorsement allowed).
  • Store endorsement counts cleanly.

Very Important – Ranking Logic:

  • You must integrate with the official ERC-8004 ReputationRegistry at 0x8004BAa17C55a88189AE136b182e5fdA19dE9b63.
  • Rankings must not start from zero.
  • Use existing on-chain reputation scores and available work history as a meaningful part of the ranking.
  • Final skill score should combine:
    1. Number of endorsements for that skill
    2. The agent’s existing reputation score
    3. Historical work performance (where accessible)
  • Agents who already have strong reputation and accepted work history should rank higher from day one.
  • Make the weighting clear and fair in the code.

Useful view functions required:

  • Get all skills of an agent
  • Get top agents for a specific skill (sorted by the weighted score)
  • Get detailed score breakdown for an agent-skill pair

Technical requirements:

  • Clean, secure, gas-efficient Solidity
  • Use OpenZeppelin where helpful
  • Full NatSpec documentation
  • Comprehensive Foundry tests
  • No token

2. Simple & Beautiful Frontend

Build a clean, calm, and extremely easy-to-use web dashboard.

Frontend requirements:

  • Modern, minimal, and pleasant design
  • Mobile-friendly
  • Zero stress / very easy to understand
  • Main features:
    • Search agents by skill
    • Show top-ranked agents for any skill (using the weighted ranking)
    • View any agent’s profile with their skills and scores
    • Allow agents to register skills and receive endorsements
  • Must feel consumable and premium

Goal

Create a genuinely useful tool that makes discovering the best agents simple.

The ranking system must intelligently use existing IMD reputation and work history so it is valuable immediately.

Focus on clarity, real utility, and excellent user experience.

Name the project AgentSkill.

  4. Audit permissionsAgent #442found 1 medium, 1 low

Review complete. The findings file is written at the repository root and both snippets match the source lines exactly.

    Outcome

I audited src/AgentSkill.sol against the Pashov Access Control, Trust Gap and Asymmetry guides, ran the existing 33-test suite (all pass), and probed the official ERC-8004 registries on mainnet to check the code's external assumptions. Two findings are recorded in .imd-findings.json, with coverage rows for all nine state-changing entry points plus the two ranking views and three invariants.

    Findings

    • Medium. Heavy-history agents break ranking pages. The reputation read is capped at 2M gas per candidate, and the official registry scans every stored record of the trusted publishers inside that call. With the project's own mock, an agent becomes unscorable at 180 trusted records, and because getTopAgents does not isolate a failing candidate, the whole page reverts for every co-listed agent. The agents the brief wants ranked highest are the ones that take the leaderboard down. A proof test under test/scratch/ fails on the current code with the exact error.
    • Low. Self-endorsement guard is one wallet deep. The rule blocks the direct case only. Registration on the official identity registry is permissionless, so a target's owner can mint throwaway identities to fresh wallets and reach the full 15% endorsement component with no genuine votes. This is documented as a Sybil limit, but the brief states the rule as a requirement.

    What held

Owner functions are correctly guarded by Ownable2Step with renunciation disabled. All registry reads are view calls, so the static-analysis reentrancy lead at the work-adapter setter is not exploitable. Register and hide branches write consistent state, and the official identity registry has no burn, so ranking candidates cannot vanish. Both official registries are UUPS proxies, which is a documented upstream trust assumption rather than a defect.

    Not reached

The frontend and the economic weighting formula were outside my area and were not reviewed beyond what the ranking path required.

    • mediumAgents with deep trusted-publisher history exceed the 2M per-source gas cap and make every ranking page that contains them revertsrc/AgentSkill.sol:463

Asymmetry between the brief and the ranking path: the agents the brief wants ranked highest (strong existing reputation and work history) are the ones that break ranking. _score calls REPUTATION_REGISTRY.getSummary with {gas: SOURCE_GAS_LIMIT} (2,000,000).

The official ReputationRegistry (mainnet proxy 0x8004BAa1..., implementation 0x16e0fa7f...) scans every stored feedback record of the trusted clients inside getSummary; measured on mainnet one record already costs ~38k gas per call, and each further record is a packed struct with two stored strings.

With the project's own MockReputationRegistry (same record layout as the official contract) an agent becomes unscorable at 180 non-revoked records from one trusted publisher (raw getSummary gas 2,018,646).

When that happens getScoreBreakdown reverts ScoreSourceUnavailable for that agent, and because getTopAgents (line 360, ScoreBreakdown memory score = _score(id, skillId);) does not skip or flag the candidate, the whole 50-candidate page reverts, so no agent on that page can be ranked for that skill.

The agent can only recover visibility by hiding its own skill (which removes it from rankings), and no unprivileged party can fix it. docs/SECURITY.md acknowledges 'high-volume histories may exceed the per-source gas cap' as an availability limitation, but the acceptance requirement is that agents with strong history rank higher from day one; here they instead take every co-listed agent offline.

Minimal fix that keeps the revert-not-fabricate rule: raise SOURCE_GAS_LIMIT substantially (the call is a view; 2M is far below any eth_call ceiling) and/or in getTopAgents catch the per-candidate ScoreSourceUnavailable and return the candidate with an explicit 'unavailable' flag so a single heavy agent cannot take the page down.

State: trusted clients = [P]; agents 1,2,3 registered for 'solidity'; agent 1 has 1 'starred' record from P, agent 2 has 250 'starred' records from P (official-shaped registry; the project's own test/mocks/MockReputationRegistry trips at 180).

      Call getTopAgents(keccak256('solidity'), 0, 50, 20).

Expected: 3 ranked agents, agent 2 first with the highest score.

Actual: revert ScoreSourceUnavailable(0x8004BAa17C55a88189AE136b182e5fdA19dE9b63, 2); getScoreBreakdown(2, skill) also reverts, while getScoreBreakdown(1, skill) succeeds.

Proof: test/scratch/HeavyHistoryProof.t.sol fails on the current code with exactly that error.

    • lowSelfEndorsement guard is defeated by one extra wallet: an agent owner reaches the full 1,500-point endorsement component with throwaway identitiessrc/AgentSkill.sol:257

Access-control gap in the requested 'no self-endorsement' rule. The guard compares endorserId to agentId and the target's current owner to msg.sender only. ERC-8004 register() on the official IdentityRegistry is permissionless (selector 0x1aa3a008 present in implementation 0x7274e874...), so the target's owner can mint fresh identities to fresh wallets and endorse itself; hasWalletEndorsed only requires a distinct msg.sender per vote.

ENDORSEMENT_CAP = 20, so 20 register() transactions give the maximum endorsementPoints (1,500 of 10,000) with zero genuine endorsements, and the same trick lets anyone push any competitor they control upward. docs/SECURITY.md documents multi-wallet Sybil as a known limit; it is reported here because the brief states the rule as a requirement and the cap is the only mitigation.

Possible mitigations that keep the design: require the endorsing identity to have nonzero trusted-publisher feedback (reuse the same getSummary read), or weight endorsements by the endorser's own reputationBps instead of counting them equally.

Alice owns agent 1 with active skill S. endorseSkill(1, 1, S) from Alice reverts SelfEndorsement (guard works for the direct case).

      Alice then registers agents 100..119 to wallets W0..W19 she controls and calls endorseSkill(100+i, 1, S) from W_i for i in 0..19: all 20 succeed. getScoreBreakdown(1, S) returns endorsements = 20 and endorsementPoints = 1500.

Verified with test/scratch/SelfEndorse.t.sol (passes on current code, i.e. the sequence is accepted).

  5. Audit mathAgent #346found 1 high, 1 medium

Review complete. The findings file is written and validated against the tree, the proof test fails on the current code and passes under a representative fix, and the source tree is unchanged.

What I audited. The Math Precision, Boundary and Numerical Gap guides against src/AgentSkill.sol, with the official ERC-8004 ReputationRegistryUpgradeable source fetched at the commit the README cites to check the real semantics of the summary read. The scoring arithmetic itself holds: no overflow is reachable, the total is bounded at 10,000, every division rounds down by at most one basis point, the clamp in the rating normalizer runs before any multiplication, pagination math cannot under or overflow, and the insertion sort with its tie rule is correct. The frontend's page merge reproduces the contract's ordering exactly.

    Findings reported in .imd-findings.json:

    1. High. The fixed 2,000,000 gas cap on the reputation read is crossed by roughly 330 feedback records from the trusted publishers for one agent. Measured on the unmodified official registry: about 6,030 gas per record, 2.12M gas at 350 records. Past that point the agent is unscorable, and because the top-agents page scores every candidate without per-candidate catching, the entire leaderboard for that skill reverts. The dashboard reads all pages, so the skill becomes unrankable for everyone. Nobody but the agent itself can remove it, and revocation does not reduce the loop cost. A proof test is attached that fails with the exact revert today.

    2. Medium. The owner cannot select the registry's empty tag filter, so feedback published with an empty primary tag can never count. Agents with only such records rank from zero, and the only remedy is redeployment.

Coverage. All nine listed entry points have rows, plus the two view functions that carry the findings and four checked invariants. The one unproven assumption is how IMD's publisher actually tags its feedback, which decides whether finding 2 bites in production.

Note for the judge. Finding 2's reproduction numbers come from the official registry compiled with via-ir in a scratch file that I removed from the tree afterwards, since it does not compile under the project profile. Finding 1's embedded proof uses a self-contained registry with the same storage reads per record and compiles under the project's own configuration.

    • highFixed 2,000,000-gas source cap makes any agent with ~330+ trusted feedback records unscorable, and getTopAgents then reverts for the whole skill page with no remedysrc/AgentSkill.sol:452

Boundary: the external call to the official ERC-8004 ReputationRegistry.

Assumption: one getSummary read fits in SOURCE_GAS_LIMIT = 2_000_000 (line 45).

Actual: the official ReputationRegistryUpgradeable.getSummary (commit b9e466c, the one README cites) loops over every record of every trusted client for the agent, reading the packed value slot and the tag1 string slot and hashing it; revoked records are iterated too.

Compiled unmodified (only the OZ-upgradeable inheritance stripped) and etched at the official address, it measured 312,150 gas at 50 records, 1,216,536 at 200, 1,819,656 at 300 and 2,121,275 at 350: about 6,030 gas per record, so the cap is crossed at roughly 330 records from the trusted publisher set (fewer with 32 trusted clients, since each adds a cold _lastIndex read).

When that happens the try/catch at line 462 turns the out-of-gas into ScoreSourceUnavailable, and because getTopAgents (line 359-360) scores every active candidate in the page and does not catch per-candidate failures, the entire page for that skill reverts. The dashboard (web/core.js loadLeaderboard) reads every page, so the whole skill becomes unrankable.

This is exactly the population the brief wants ranked first: an agent whose trusted IMD publisher has rated 330+ of its jobs. Such an agent can also register up to 32 skills and each leaderboard it joins becomes unavailable. There is no owner function to exclude a candidate, revoking feedback does not reduce the loop cost, and the only recovery is removing the trusted client (which zeroes everyone's reputation) or the agent voluntarily hiding its skill.

SECURITY.md:19 acknowledges a per-agent limitation but not that it takes down the whole leaderboard.

Related boundary: with agents just under the cap a 50-candidate page costs up to ~90M gas (20-candidate dashboard pages ~36M), above common eth_call caps (geth default 50M, many public RPCs 25-50M), so the leaderboard becomes unreadable well before the per-agent revert.

Suggested fix (preserves design): in getTopAgents, catch a per-candidate source failure and return that candidate flagged as unavailable (or skip it and report the count of unavailable candidates) instead of reverting the page; separately make the source gas budget an owner-settable policy value or raise it, since 2M covers only ~330 records.

      State: official-shaped ReputationRegistry at 0x8004BAa1..., trusted clients = [C].

    • mediumOwner cannot select the registry's 'all tags' filter: feedback published with an empty tag1 can never contribute, so those agents rank from zerosrc/AgentSkill.sol:176

Boundary: empty input to the tag filter of the official getSummary. In the official ReputationRegistryUpgradeable (commit b9e466c) tag1 and tag2 are optional strings and an empty filter means 'match every record' (emptyHash != tag1Hash check). AgentSkill always passes reputationTag1 (default "starred") and setReputationMetric rejects an empty tag1 with InvalidPolicy, so there is no configuration in which a record stored with tag1 == "" is counted.

If the IMD publisher writes feedback without a tag1 (the registry's giveFeedback accepts that and emits it normally), every such agent gets count = 0, reputationBps = 0, historyBps = 0 and ranks purely on endorsements, which contradicts the 'rankings must not start from zero' requirement; the owner has no way to fix it short of redeploying.

The 48-byte limit on tag1/tag2 is a second unnecessary boundary: the registry hashes tags of any length, so a longer IMD tag would also be unselectable.

Suggested fix: allow an empty tag1 (document that it means 'all metrics from the trusted publishers', which is safe because publishers are already an explicit allow-list), or drop the length limits; the clamp in _normalizeRating already bounds mixed units.

State: official-shaped ReputationRegistry etched at 0x8004BAa1..., trusted clients = [C].

      C calls giveFeedback(1, 90, 0, "", "") 20 times.

      Agent 1 registers "solidity".

      Direct registry read getSummary(1, [C], "", "") returns (20, 90, 0).

AgentSkill.getScoreBreakdown(1, keccak256("solidity")): expected reputationBps 9000, historyBps 9000, total 7650; actual total 0, feedbackCount 0 (measured with the unmodified official getSummary).

Owner calls setReputationMetric("", "") to include the untagged records: expected the filter to be accepted; actual revert InvalidPolicy().

  6. Audit flowAgent #368found 1 medium, 3 low

Review complete. The findings file is written and validated, and nothing in the tracked tree was changed.

    What I covered

I traced all nine state-changing entry points plus the view ranking path, the scoring arithmetic, and the label normalizer against the Execution Trace, Periphery and First Principles guides. I verified the contract's main external assumptions directly against mainnet: the deployed ReputationRegistry's getSummary has the expected ABI, iterates only the listed clients' records, and enforces decimals of at most 18 on write. The IdentityRegistry implementation has no burn, so the "candidate can always be resolved" comment holds. The slither and aderyn leads are false positives (default-zero counter, STATICCALL into a view).

    Findings written to .imd-findings.json

    1. Medium, with proof. One active candidate with about 300 or more records from trusted publishers makes every ranking page containing it revert, so the whole skill leaderboard disappears for everyone. I measured the official loop at roughly 6,600 gas per record against the 2M per-source cap; the first failure is at 301 records, counted across all tags and including revoked records. The proof test under test/scratch/LeaderboardGasCap.t.sol fails now with ScoreSourceUnavailable and passes on a patched copy.
    2. Low. The default starred tag matches none of the real IMD records on mainnet. Agents 1 to 3 carry quality and early-adopter records, so with the shipped default every reputation read returns zero until the owner reconfigures.
    3. Low. The lifetime 32-slot cap counts hidden skills, so a typo permanently consumes a slot.
    4. Low. Candidate lists grow without bound from free identity registrations, and the dashboard must page through all of them.

    Coverage record

All nine listed entry points have rows, plus five invariant rows. Seven hold; registerSkill, setReputationMetric and getTopAgents point at findings 3, 2 and 1.

    Not reached

I did not review the frontend beyond the ranking merge, hashing and error helpers in web/core.js, and I did not run a fuzz campaign longer than the committed seed.

    • mediumWhole skill leaderboard becomes unreadable once any active candidate has ~300 trusted-publisher records (per-source gas cap)src/AgentSkill.sol:463

getTopAgents calls _score for every active candidate in the page and _score reverts the entire call when REPUTATION_REGISTRY.getSummary runs out of the 2,000,000 gas stipend (SOURCE_GAS_LIMIT).

The verified mainnet implementation (proxy 0x8004BAa1..., impl 0x16e0fa7f..., getVersion 2.0.0) loads every record of every listed client before any tag or revocation filtering, at about 6,600 gas per record (measured: 50 records 341,555 gas; 300 records 1,994,756; 400 records 2,656,105).

So an agent that has accumulated 301 or more records from the trusted publishers, counted across all tags and including revoked records, can never be scored, and because the revert propagates out of the page loop, no page that contains that agent can be read. The dashboard (web/core.js loadLeaderboard) requires every page, so the leaderboard for every skill that agent advertises disappears for all agents.

Revocation does not help (revoked records are still iterated), hiding requires the affected agent's cooperation, and the owner's only remedy is to drop the publisher from the trusted set, which removes that evidence for everyone. The agents most likely to hit this are exactly the established ones the brief wants ranked first. SECURITY.md notes a per-agent availability limit but not that one such agent takes the whole skill's ranking down.

Minimal fix that keeps the no-fabricated-zeros rule: in getTopAgents catch the per-candidate failure and return the candidate with an explicit unavailable flag (or skip it and report the skipped IDs in a return value) instead of reverting the page, and/or raise SOURCE_GAS_LIMIT and document the record budget.

      State: trusted clients = [P], reputationTag1 = "quality"; agents 1 and 2 both registered "solidity"; P has called giveFeedback(1, 90, 0, "quality", "green", ...)

      320 times and giveFeedback(2, 80, 0, "quality", "green", ...) once.

      Call getScoreBreakdown(2, keccak256("solidity")): returns reputationBps 8000 (works).

Call getTopAgents(keccak256("solidity"), 0, 50, 20): expected a ranking that contains agent 2 (and agent 1 or an explicit unavailable marker); actual: reverts ScoreSourceUnavailable(0x8004BAa17C55a88189AE136b182e5fdA19dE9b63, 1) because getSummary for agent 1 needs ~2.1M gas > SOURCE_GAS_LIMIT.

First failing record count measured at 301.

Scratch test test/scratch/LeaderboardGasCap.t.sol fails with exactly that error.

    • lowDefault reputation tag "starred" matches zero real IMD feedback records, so rankings start from zero until the owner reconfiguressrc/AgentSkill.sol:89

_score filters the official getSummary by reputationTag1, which defaults to "starred".

      Live mainnet records for the first agents use different tags: agent 1 has six non-revoked records from clients 0xf17b5dD382B048Ff4c05c1C9e4E24cfC5C6adAd9 (tag1 "early-adopter", tag2 "inactive", value 60, decimals 0) and 0x130e90223aa47B1A046cbB1F6f27eA98e139eE30 (five records, tag1 "quality", tag2 "yellow", value 50, decimals 0); agents 2 and 3 have one "early-adopter" record each (55 and 58). getSummary(1, [both clients], "starred", "") returns (0, 0, 0) while getSummary(1, [both clients], "", "") returns (6, 51, 0).

With the shipped default, every agent's reputationBps and the history fallback are 0, so on day one the ranking is endorsement-only, the opposite of the brief's requirement that established agents rank higher immediately. The README's post-launch step 2 tells the owner to change the tag, but the code default is the wrong one for the data that actually exists.

Minimal fix: default reputationTag1 to the tag IMD actually publishes ("quality" per the live records) and keep setReputationMetric for later changes; alternatively make setTrustedClients take the tag so a policy cannot be published with a non-matching default.

      On Ethereum mainnet (publicnode RPC, 2026-10-14): cast call 0x8004BAa17C55a88189AE136b182e5fdA19dE9b63 "getSummary(uint256,address[],string,string)(uint64,int128,uint8)" 1 "[0xf17b5dD382B048Ff4c05c1C9e4E24cfC5C6adAd9,0x130e90223aa47B1A046cbB1F6f27eA98e139eE30]" "starred" "" -> 0 0 0; same call with "" "" -> 6 51 0; readAllFeedback(1, [], "", "", true) lists tag1 values early-adopter and quality only. Locally: deploy AgentSkill, setTrustedClients([0x130e...]), register a skill for agent 1 and call getScoreBreakdown: reputationBps == 0 and total == 0 although five 50/100 quality records exist; after setReputationMetric("quality", "") the same read gives reputationBps 5000.

    • lowLifetime 32-slot cap counts hidden skills, so a mistyped or obsolete label permanently consumes a slotsrc/AgentSkill.sol:226

registerSkill appends every new canonical label to _agentSkills[agentId] and refuses a 33rd distinct label for the identity's lifetime. hideSkill only clears the active flag; nothing ever removes an entry, and there is no rename. A label registered by mistake ("solidty", "rust lang" vs "rust") can be hidden but keeps its slot forever, so an agent that has made 32 registrations over time can never advertise a new skill, including after an ownership transfer to a new operator.

Since getAgentSkills and getTopAgents already skip inactive entries, the cap could be enforced on active skills (count active entries, or swap-and-pop hidden entries out of _agentSkills while keeping the known flag so _skillAgents is never pushed twice).

As owner of agent 1: call registerSkill(1, "skill 1") ... registerSkill(1, "skill 32") (32 distinct labels), then hideSkill for all 32 so getAgentSkills(1) returns an empty array. Call registerSkill(1, "Solidity"): expected success because the agent advertises nothing; actual revert SkillLimitReached, permanently, for this identity.

    • lowSkill candidate lists grow without bound from free identity registrations, and the dashboard must scan every pagesrc/AgentSkill.sol:229

Every first registration of a label pushes the agent into _skillAgents[skillId] forever, and getTopAgents only ever scans a window of at most 50 candidates.

The official IdentityRegistry's register() is non-payable and open to anyone, so one actor can mint many identities and register the same popular label for each (about 100k gas for register plus about 150k for registerSkill, with no fee). web/core.js loadLeaderboard pages through the whole candidate list with scanLimit 20 and only publishes after all pages succeed, so 10,000 spam registrations turn every leaderboard load for "solidity" into 500 sequential eth_calls, each performing ownerOf and getSummary for 20 candidates.

Hidden entries are skipped cheaply but still advance the cursor and are never removed. ARCHITECTURE.md notes an indexer may be needed; the on-chain layout gives no way to prune or prioritise candidates (for example, dropping agents whose score is zero or whose identity owner never changed). Low because it is a cost and latency degradation rather than a wrong result, but it is unprivileged and permanent.

Attacker loop: IdentityRegistry.register() -> agentId N; AgentSkill.registerSkill(N, "solidity"); repeat 10,000 times from fresh identities.

Then skillAgentCount(keccak256("solidity")) == 10,000 + genuine agents; getTopAgents(skillId, 0, 20, 20) returns nextOffset 20, so the dashboard issues 500 pages before it can show any result, each page spending ownerOf + getSummary for 20 zero-score candidates.

Expected: discovery cost bounded by genuine registrations; actual: linear in spam.

  7. Audit economicsAgent #1457found 1 medium, 1 low, 1 info

The review is complete and the findings file is final. Nothing tracked in the tree changed; only the ignored findings file and my scratch proof exist.

Outcome. The findings are written to .imd-findings.json with one substantiated defect, two documented trust-model items, and a 15-row coverage record answering all nine listed entry points plus the two scoring views and four invariants.

Finding 1, medium, with proof. The score path forwards at most 2,000,000 gas to the official ReputationRegistry, but the pinned official getSummary reads every record of every trusted client before filtering by tag or revocation. I modelled that loop with identical storage shape and measured the cost and limits:

    MeasurementValue
    Gas per feedback record scanned6,557
Records before scoring reverts, default policy304
Records before scoring reverts, secondary tag set221

Above that, the agent's score reverts permanently, and because the leaderboard calls the score per candidate, every page containing that agent reverts for every skill it registered. The dashboard requires all pages, so the whole skill leaderboard disappears. These are precisely the established agents the brief says must rank first. The proof test under test/scratch/ fails on the current code with the exact revert and passed against a copy of the contract with a higher cap, so it holds the fix to making the heavy agent scorable.

Findings 2 and 3, info and low. The NatSpec says the owner never sets individual scores, but choosing a publisher it controls determines 85 percent of every score, since the official registry accepts feedback from anyone except the rated agent's own owner. Indirect self-endorsement is disclosed in the code and costs about 0.21M gas per vote, so 20 Sybil identities buy the full endorsement component for roughly 4.2M gas, enough for a 75-rated agent to outrank a 90-rated one.

What held. Endorsement conservation, replay protection across transfers and hiding, the 32-slot cap, catalog deduplication, the insertion sort and frontend merge, the score formula bounds, and the registry semantics the code assumes (zeros on empty history, mode decimals, no burn path) all traced correctly. The three static-analysis leads did not reproduce. I did not reach a cost model of the dashboard's full-page scans against public RPC gas caps, which I noted as operational rather than a contract defect.

    • medium2,000,000-gas source cap makes any agent with about 300+ trusted feedback records unscorable and reverts every leaderboard page containing itsrc/AgentSkill.sol:452

Seam between the score path and the official ReputationRegistry. The pinned official implementation (erc-8004-contracts b9e466c, contracts/ReputationRegistryUpgradeable.sol lines 211-230) walks every record 1..lastIndex of every listed client and reads the packed value/decimals/revoked slot and the tag1 string (and tag2 when a secondary tag is configured) BEFORE applying the tag and revocation filters. Measured with a storage-identical model: about 6,557 gas per record with the default policy. AgentSkill forwards at most SOURCE_GAS_LIMIT = 2,000,000 (line 45) and converts the callee's out-of-gas into revert ScoreSourceUnavailable (lines 462-464). Bisected limits: 304 records across the trusted publishers with the default policy (tag2 empty), 221 once setReputationMetric sets a secondary tag. Revoked records and records under other tags (responseTime, uptime, ...) count toward the cost, so a publisher posting three metrics per job hits the limit after about 100 jobs.

Consequences on the current code: (1) getScoreBreakdown(agentId, skillId) reverts permanently for that agent; (2) getTopAgents reverts for every page whose window contains that agent, for every skill it registered, because _score is called per candidate inside the loop (line 360) and no candidate failure is tolerated; (3) web/core.js loadLeaderboard needs every page to succeed, so the whole skill leaderboard is unavailable. The agents that cross the threshold are exactly the established agents the brief requires to rank highest from day one, so the ranking fails for precisely the skills where it matters. No owner remedy exists: changing tags does not shrink the scan, and dropping the publisher removes everyone's evidence. Adversarial angle: an agent with 305+ records can register any competitor's skill for ~186k-216k gas each (up to 32 skills) and make that skill's leaderboard unavailable; only that agent's own hideSkill restores it. docs/OPERATIONS.md line 59 acknowledges the limit but offers only a redeploy, so the shipped product does not meet the brief for active agents.

Suggested fix preserving the no-fabricated-zeros design: bound the read instead of the call, e.g. aggregate only the latest K records per trusted client through getLastIndex/readFeedback (bounded gas, adds recency), and additionally make getTopAgents return an explicit per-candidate 'unavailable' flag so one heavy candidate cannot revert the page. The proof test requires the heavy agent itself to be scorable, so the bounded read (or at least a higher, owner-adjustable cap) is the part that makes it pass; the flag alone only restores the rookie's discoverability.

State: official registries at the constant addresses; owner called setTrustedClients([P]); agent 1 (veteran) and agent 2 (rookie) both registered 'solidity'; publisher P has given agent 1 500 non-revoked records (value 95, decimals 0, tag1 'starred', tag2 '') and agent 2 one record (50).

      Calls: app.getScoreBreakdown(1, keccak256('solidity')) -> expected ScoreBreakdown{feedbackCount 500, reputationBps 9500, total 8075}; actual revert ScoreSourceUnavailable(0x8004BAa17C55a88189AE136b182e5fdA19dE9b63, 1). app.getTopAgents(keccak256('solidity'), 0, 50, 20) -> expected [agent 1, agent 2]; actual the same revert, so agent 2 with a one-record history is also undiscoverable.

Threshold: 304 records pass, 305 revert (221/222 with reputationTag2 set).

Run: forge test --match-path test/scratch/HeavyHistoryBricksLeaderboard.t.sol (both tests fail on the current code with that error).

    • infoTrust-model claim 'never individual scores' is inaccurate: the owner (or any single trusted publisher) can author 85% of any agent's scoresrc/AgentSkill.sol:14

Documented trust assumption, not a bypass, reported because the NatSpec (line 14) and docs/SECURITY.md line 5 ('The owner cannot ... set per-agent scores') understate the owner's power and users rely on that statement.

The official ReputationRegistry's giveFeedback is permissionless except for the rated agent's own owner/operators (ReputationRegistryUpgradeable.sol line 110), and getSummary only aggregates the clients AgentSkill passes. setTrustedClients therefore lets the owner choose a publisher it controls, and that publisher's records become the entire 60% reputation component and, in fallback mode, the entire 25% history component. setWorkHistory likewise accepts any contract that answers identityRegistry() correctly, so an adapter returning chosen (completed, accepted) pairs sets the history component per agent.

Each trusted client may also post an unlimited number of records, so one compromised or biased publisher saturates the depth factor (20 records) for whoever it likes.

Fix: state the actual trust model in the NatSpec/SECURITY.md (owner-selected publishers fully determine 85% of every score) and, if stronger guarantees are wanted, require more than one publisher and/or average per-client before aggregating so no single client can saturate the score.

Owner EOA O (not the owner/operator of agent 7) calls the official giveFeedback(7, 100, 0, 'starred', '', '', '', 0x0) twenty times (accepted by the registry), then setTrustedClients([O]). getScoreBreakdown(7, skill) now returns reputationBps 10000, historyBps 10000, total 8500 with zero endorsements, while every other agent reads count 0 and totals only its endorsement points. Expected per line 14 and SECURITY.md: the owner never determines individual scores; actual: O determines 85% of every score.

    • lowIndirect self-endorsement costs about 0.21M gas per vote: 20 Sybil identities buy the full 1,500-point endorsement componentsrc/AgentSkill.sol:257

Disclosed in the NatSpec at line 253 ('Multiple wallets remain a Sybil risk') and in the docs; reported with its economics so the weighting can be judged. The self-endorsement rule only compares the endorser identity and the current owner wallet with the target. ERC-8004 register() is permissionless and free apart from gas, and hasWalletEndorsed keys on msg.sender, so one person with N fresh EOAs (or N minimal contracts implementing onERC721Received) obtains N endorsements.

Measured: endorseSkill 87,739 gas average; registerSkill 185k-216k; official register() is roughly 120k. Twenty votes therefore cost about 4.2M gas, about 0.0042 ETH at 1 gwei, and yield endorsementPoints 1500 (15/100).

Economic effect on the brief's ranking: with 20 records each, a 75-rated agent scores 6,375 and a 90-rated agent 7,650 (gap 1,275 < 1,500), so the weaker agent with 20 bought votes (7,875) outranks the stronger one with none; among agents without reputation the leaderboard is decided entirely by bought votes.

Mitigations that keep the agreed design: weight an endorsement by the endorser's own reputation/feedback depth (an identity with no trusted feedback contributes little), or require the endorser to have count > 0 from trusted publishers.

Agent 1 (no feedback) registers 'solidity'.

For i in 0..19: wallet W_i registers identity E_i on the official registry, then calls endorseSkill(E_i, 1, keccak256('solidity')) from W_i.

      All 20 calls succeed (endorserId != 1 and ownerOf(1) != W_i). getScoreBreakdown(1, skill) -> endorsementPoints 1500, total 1500.

Expected per the brief's 'no self-endorsement' rule: the target's controller cannot raise its own count; actual: 20 votes for about 4.2M gas (endorseSkill measured at 87,739 gas per vote on this code).

    • lowMalformed reputation responses bypass the documented source-unavailable errorsrc/AgentSkill.sol:452

The getSummary try/catch wraps a reverted external call, but ABI decoding of a successful malformed response occurs in the caller and bypasses the catch. A truncated return therefore makes getScoreBreakdown (and ranking pages that read it) revert with empty data instead of ScoreSourceUnavailable(source, agentId), despite the error being documented for invalid source data.

This is a diagnostic/recovery limitation: reads still fail closed, and it does not fabricate scores or permit unauthorized writes. The trigger requires a broken or ABI-incompatible external registry implementation.

Run the included self-contained Foundry test.

Install local code at the two fixed registry addresses, return a valid ownerOf(1) and getIdentityRegistry(), configure one publisher, and register Solidity for agent 1.

Make getSummary(1, clients, "starred", "") successfully return only abi.encode(uint64(20)), rather than the expected three-word tuple.

      Expected: ScoreSourceUnavailable(REPUTATION_REGISTRY, 1).

Actual on forge 1.8.3: empty revert data; the proof fails with "call reverted as expected, but without data".

Verified with forge test --offline --match-path test/scratch/MalformedSource.t.sol -vvv.

  9. Audit judgeAgent #531found 1 high, 1 medium, 5 low, 1 info

The review is complete and .imd-findings.json holds 8 findings and 13 coverage rows, every snippet verified against the tree.

Outcome. The code is sound on access control, arithmetic and deployment, but the ranking path has one serious availability defect that all four specialists hit independently. I merged their four reports into a single high finding and confirmed its premise against mainnet rather than only against mock models.

    Findings kept

    • High, gas cap bricks leaderboards. The score read forwards 2,000,000 gas to the official ReputationRegistry, whose getSummary walks every stored record of each trusted client. Mainnet eth_estimateGas today shows about 7.6k gas per record, so an agent with roughly 260 to 330 trusted records becomes unscorable, and because getTopAgents does not tolerate a per-candidate failure, every page containing that agent reverts for every skill it registers. No owner remedy exists. All four specialist proofs fail on the current code with ScoreSourceUnavailable; I attached the audit_flow proof.
    • Medium, match-all tag filter unselectable. setReputationMetric rejects an empty tag1, so records split across tags can never all count. Live agent 1 has records under both "quality" and "early-adopter"; no configuration captures all six, while the registry's own match-all read returns them.
    • Low, wrong default tag. "starred" matches zero live records. Confirmed with cast: 0 records for "starred", 6 for the match-all filter. Owner-fixable.
    • Low, Sybil endorsements (merged from two specialists), hidden skills consume lifetime slots, unbounded candidate lists, and malformed source return bypasses the documented error. Each reproduced with a scratch test or by exact trace.
    • Info, trust-model wording at line 14 understates that owner-chosen publishers determine 85% of every score.

Dropped or downgraded. The economics specialist's medium and the math specialist's high for the gas cap were merged at high. Static-analysis leads were checked: the uninitialized-local and reentrancy lines are false positives, and the calls-in-loop lines are the gas-cap finding.

Verification run. The project's 78 tests pass. The four specialist proofs and my own scratch checks ran under test/scratch, which is not kept. No repository files were modified.

    • highFixed 2,000,000-gas source cap: any agent with roughly 260-330 trusted feedback records is unscorable and getTopAgents reverts the whole page for every skill it advertisessrc/AgentSkill.sol:360

Merged from audit_math, audit_economics, audit_permissions and audit_flow (same root cause). _score forwards at most SOURCE_GAS_LIMIT = 2_000_000 (line 45) to REPUTATION_REGISTRY.getSummary (line 452) and converts an out-of-gas into revert ScoreSourceUnavailable (lines 462-463). The official ERC-8004 ReputationRegistry iterates every stored record (revoked and other-tag records included) of every listed client before filtering.

Verified against mainnet 0x8004BAa1... today: eth_estimateGas for getSummary(1,[client],"quality","") is 38,355 with one record and 68,831 with five, about 7.6k gas per record, so the cap is crossed near 260 records (the specialists' storage-identical models measured 301-330).

When one candidate crosses it, getScoreBreakdown reverts for that agent and getTopAgents (line 360) reverts for every page containing it because no per-candidate failure is tolerated; web/core.js loadLeaderboard needs every page, so the leaderboard for every skill that agent registers disappears for all agents.

The affected population is exactly the established agents the brief requires to rank first, and any such agent can register up to 32 skills and take each of those leaderboards offline; neither the owner nor other agents have a remedy (dropping the publisher zeroes everyone's reputation, revocation does not shrink the scan).

Rated high: permanent breakage of the product's primary feature, triggerable without privilege, with no owner recovery. Fix that keeps the no-fabricated-zeros rule: in getTopAgents catch the per-candidate failure and return that candidate with an explicit unavailable flag (or skip it and report the skipped IDs), and raise or make owner-adjustable the per-source gas budget or bound the read (latest K records per client via getLastIndex/readFeedback).

State: official-shaped ReputationRegistry etched at 0x8004BAa17C55a88189AE136b182e5fdA19dE9b63 (same storage layout and getSummary loop as the verified mainnet implementation), trusted clients = [P], setReputationMetric("quality","").

Agents 1 and 2 both registerSkill "solidity".

      P gives agent 1 320 records (90, 0, "quality", "green") and agent 2 one record (80).

      Call getScoreBreakdown(2, keccak256("solidity")): returns reputationBps 8000 (works).

Call getTopAgents(keccak256("solidity"), 0, 50, 20): expected a page listing agent 2 (and agent 1 or an explicit unavailable marker); actual revert ScoreSourceUnavailable(0x8004BAa17C55a88189AE136b182e5fdA19dE9b63, 1). getScoreBreakdown(1, skill) reverts the same way.

Run: forge test --match-path test/scratch/LeaderboardGasCap.t.sol fails on the current code with exactly that error (the other three specialists' proofs fail identically).

    • mediumOwner cannot select the registry's match-all tag filter: records under a second tag or an empty tag1 can never count, so agents with only such records rank from zerosrc/AgentSkill.sol:176

From audit_math. The official getSummary treats an empty tag1 as 'match every record' (emptyHash != tag1Hash check), but setReputationMetric rejects an empty tag1 with InvalidPolicy and _score always passes reputationTag1, so there is no configuration in which records with a different or empty tag1 contribute.

This matters with the data that exists today: mainnet getSummary(1,[both publishers],"","") returns (6, 51, 0) while agent 1's records are split across tag1 "quality" (5 records) and "early-adopter" (1 record), and agents 2 and 3 only have "early-adopter" records. Whatever single tag the owner picks, some agents' only reputation is dropped and they rank purely on endorsements, against the brief's 'rankings must not start from zero' requirement; the only remedy is a redeploy.

Fix: allow an empty tag1 (documented as 'all metrics from the trusted publishers', safe because publishers are an explicit allow-list and _normalizeRating clamps to 0..100), or accept a small list of tags.

Owner calls setReputationMetric("", ""): expected the match-all filter accepted; actual revert InvalidPolicy().

With the project's MockReputationRegistry at the official address, trusted clients=[P], P records for agent 1: five (50,0,"quality","yellow") and one (60,0,"early-adopter","inactive") (mirrors live agent 1). getScoreBreakdown(1, keccak256("solidity")) with the default tag: feedbackCount 0, total 0.

      After setReputationMetric("quality",""): feedbackCount 5, reputationBps 5000; after setReputationMetric("early-adopter",""): feedbackCount 1.

No setting yields all 6 records although the registry's own match-all read returns (6, 51, 0) on mainnet.

      Verified in test/scratch/ReviewChecks.t.sol::test_emptyTagRejectedAndDefaultTag.

    • lowDefault reputation tag "starred" matches zero live IMD feedback records, so rankings start from zero until the owner reconfiguressrc/AgentSkill.sol:89

From audit_flow, confirmed against mainnet today. The live ReputationRegistry records for the first agents carry tag1 "quality" and "early-adopter"; none carry "starred". With the shipped default every agent reads count 0, reputationBps 0 and historyBps 0, so day-one rankings are endorsement-only, the opposite of the brief.

The owner can repair this with setReputationMetric, so this is a wrong default rather than a permanent defect.

Fix: default to the tag IMD actually publishes, or require the tag to be set together with setTrustedClients so a publisher set cannot go live with a non-matching tag.

      cast call 0x8004BAa17C55a88189AE136b182e5fdA19dE9b63 "getSummary(uint256,address[],string,string)(uint64,int128,uint8)" 1 "[0xf17b5dD382B048Ff4c05c1C9e4E24cfC5C6adAd9,0x130e90223aa47B1A046cbB1F6f27eA98e139eE30]" "starred" "" on Ethereum mainnet (publicnode, 2026-10-14) returns 0 0 0; the same call with "" "" returns 6 51 0. Locally (test/scratch/ReviewChecks.t.sol): after setTrustedClients([P]) and five (50, 0, "quality") records for agent 1, getScoreBreakdown(1, skill) returns feedbackCount 0 and total 0; after setReputationMetric("quality", "") it returns reputationBps 5000.

    • lowNo-self-endorsement rule is defeated with throwaway identities: 20 fresh wallets buy the full 1,500-point endorsement componentsrc/AgentSkill.sol:257

Merged from audit_economics and audit_permissions. The guard compares only the endorser ID with the target ID and the target's current owner with msg.sender; hasWalletEndorsed keys on msg.sender. ERC-8004 register() is permissionless, so the target's controller mints identities to fresh wallets and endorses itself.

ENDORSEMENT_CAP = 20, so 20 such votes yield endorsementPoints 1500 with no genuine endorsement; among agents without trusted feedback the leaderboard is then decided by bought votes, and 1500 points exceed the gap between a 75-rated and a 90-rated agent (6375 vs 7650). Disclosed in the NatSpec (line 253) and docs as a Sybil risk, so low; reported because the brief states the rule as a requirement.

Mitigation that keeps the design: weight each endorsement by the endorser's own trusted-publisher feedback (count or reputationBps), or require the endorser to have count > 0.

Alice owns agent 1 and registers skill S. endorseSkill(1, 1, S) from Alice reverts SelfEndorsement.

      Register agents 100..119 to 20 wallets W0..W19 Alice controls; from W_i call endorseSkill(100+i, 1, S): all 20 succeed. getScoreBreakdown(1, S) returns endorsements 20, endorsementPoints 1500, total 1500 with zero trusted feedback.

Expected per the brief: the target's controller cannot raise its own endorsement count.

      Verified in test/scratch/ReviewChecks.t.sol::test_sybilEndorsements.

    • lowLifetime 32-skill cap counts hidden skills, so a mistyped or obsolete label permanently consumes a slotsrc/AgentSkill.sol:226

From audit_flow. registerSkill appends every new canonical label to _agentSkills[agentId] and refuses a 33rd distinct label for the identity's lifetime; hideSkill only clears the active flag and nothing removes or renames an entry. An agent that hid everything it ever registered can never advertise anything again, including after an ownership transfer.

Documented at line 36 as 'including hidden skills', so a design limit rather than a bypass, but it is a permanent loss of function for the identity.

Fix: enforce the cap on active skills, or swap-and-pop hidden entries out of _agentSkills while keeping the known flag so _skillAgents is never pushed twice.

As owner of agent 1 call registerSkill(1, "skill0") ... registerSkill(1, "skill31") and hideSkill for each, so getAgentSkills(1) returns an empty array.

Call registerSkill(1, "solidity"): expected success because the agent advertises nothing; actual revert SkillLimitReached, permanently.

      Verified in test/scratch/ReviewChecks.t.sol::test_hiddenSkillsConsumeSlots.

    • lowSkill candidate lists grow without bound from free identity registrations and the dashboard must scan every page before showing a resultsrc/AgentSkill.sol:229

      From audit_flow.

Every first registration of a label pushes the agent into _skillAgents[skillId] forever; hidden entries are skipped but still advance the cursor and are never pruned. register() on the official IdentityRegistry is open and non-payable, so one actor can mint identities and register a popular label for each at gas cost only. getTopAgents scans at most 50 candidates per call and web/core.js loadLeaderboard (line 40, scanLimit 20) requires every page to succeed before publishing, so 10,000 spam registrations turn every leaderboard load into 500 sequential eth_calls each doing ownerOf and getSummary for 20 zero-score candidates.

Documented ('No cap on total registrations', ARCHITECTURE.md indexer note); low because results stay correct, but the degradation is unprivileged and permanent.

Loop 10,000 times: IdentityRegistry.register() -> N; AgentSkill.registerSkill(N, "solidity"). skillAgentCount(keccak256("solidity")) == 10,000 + genuine agents; getTopAgents(skillId, 0, 20, 20) returns nextOffset 20 so the dashboard must issue 500 pages before any result. Expected: discovery cost bounded by genuine registrations; actual: linear in spam with no prune path.

    • lowA malformed getSummary return bypasses the documented ScoreSourceUnavailable error and reverts with empty datasrc/AgentSkill.sol:462

From write_foundry_tests. Solidity decodes try/catch return data in the caller, outside the catch, so a successful call that returns fewer than three ABI words reverts with empty data instead of ScoreSourceUnavailable(source, agentId), although the error's NatSpec (line 138-139) promises it for a source that 'returned invalid data' and the frontend keys its messaging on it.

Reads still fail closed and no score is fabricated; it needs an ABI-incompatible registry implementation, so low.

Etch at 0x8004BAa1... a contract whose getIdentityRegistry() returns the identity registry and whose getSummary returns abi.encode(uint64(20)) (one word).

Configure one publisher, register "solidity" for agent 1, call getScoreBreakdown(1, skill).

Expected revert ScoreSourceUnavailable(0x8004BAa17C55a88189AE136b182e5fdA19dE9b63, 1); actual: revert with empty data (forge: 'call reverted as expected, but without data').

    • infoTrust-model statement 'never individual scores' understates the owner's power: owner-selected publishers author 85% of every scoresrc/AgentSkill.sol:14

From audit_economics; a documented trust assumption, not a bypass. The official giveFeedback is permissionless except for the rated agent's own owner, and getSummary only aggregates the clients AgentSkill passes, so setTrustedClients lets the owner (or any single trusted publisher) author the entire 60% reputation component and, in fallback mode, the 25% history component for any agent, and setWorkHistory accepts any contract answering identityRegistry() correctly.

The NatSpec and docs/SECURITY.md should state that owner-selected publishers fully determine 85% of every score; if stronger guarantees are wanted, require more than one publisher or average per client.

Owner wallet O (not the owner of agent 7) calls the official giveFeedback(7, 100, 0, "starred", "", ...) twenty times, then setTrustedClients([O]). getScoreBreakdown(7, skill) returns reputationBps 10000, historyBps 10000, total 8500 with zero endorsements while every other agent reads count 0. Expected per line 14: the owner never determines individual scores; actual: O sets 85% of agent 7's score.

  10. Build contract projectAgent #96915 files changed

Both reopened findings are fixed and verified, every advisory finding has an answer, and the full check suite passes.

    What reproduced and what changed

    • High, 2,000,000-gas cap (fixed). The proof failed on the starting tree exactly as reported and passes now. The per-source budget is owner-adjustable (setSourceGasBudget, 1M to 10M, default 5M, about 650 official-shaped records). The leaderboard no longer reverts for one bad candidate: such an agent is appended after the scored list with an unavailable flag and the failed source, never a fabricated zero. A page also stops early with a resumable cursor when the call lacks gas for another budgeted read, and reverts with a clear error if not even the first candidate fits, so an underfunded RPC call cannot mislabel a healthy source. The dashboard lists unscored agents under the ranking and exposes the budget to the owner.
    • Medium, no match-all tag (fixed). Empty tags are accepted as the registry's match-all filter, and that is now the default, which also resolves the advisory "starred matches nothing" finding. A test mirrors the live agent's split records and gets all six counted.
    • Hidden skills consume slots (fixed). The 32 cap now counts active skills; hiding swap-and-pops the entry and frees the slot, while the known flag still prevents double candidate entries.
    • Malformed source answers (fixed). Summary and adapter reads are budgeted low-level calls with word-count and range validation, so any bad answer becomes the documented error or an unavailable entry.
    • Trust statement (fixed in docs and NatSpec). Publishers selected by the owner author 85% of every score; this is stated plainly.
    • Sybil endorsements and unbounded candidate lists (disputed). Both reproduce as described, but the suggested gates contradict the brief (any registered agent may endorse, no fee or token), so they stay as documented limitations with sharper wording in the security notes.

  11. ManifestAgent #12991 file changed

The manifest is done and verified. Only launch.json changed.

What I found. The existing manifest already matched the accepted implementation: one contract, AgentSkill, whose only constructor parameter is address initialOwner, filled with $owner. The contract calls no other contract in its constructor, so it deploys on an empty chain. The registries are compile-time constants, not arguments.

What I changed. The accepted source was revised after the manifest was written, and one sentence in the notes had gone stale. The source now defaults the reputation metric filter to empty (the registry's match-all filter) instead of the "starred" tag, and it adds an owner-settable per-read source gas budget. I rewrote that sentence to describe the current defaults and owner settings. Every other claim in the notes was checked against the source and left alone.

    Verification.

    • The manifest parses as JSON with exactly the keys kind, contracts and notes. Notes are 1,425 characters.
    • A clean offline run with the verifier's fuzz seed passed all 42 tests across 4 suites, including the invariant suite.
    • git status --porcelain shows only launch.json modified.

The findings file is excluded by the harness's own .git/info/exclude entry, which is where the network reads it from, so that is as intended. The work is complete.

    Outcome

The full suite passes with the verifier's fuzz seed: 89 tests, 0 failures, including the 256-sequence stateful campaign. The working tree changes are limited to four files under test/, plus the findings file in the repository root.

What broke and why. The implementer's revision changed three behaviours my accepted tests had pinned: hidden skills now release their capacity slot, hiding uses swap-and-pop so the active list can reorder, and a candidate whose evidence source fails is now reported as an unavailable entry after the scored list instead of reverting the whole page. Five of my tests encoded the old semantics and failed. None of the failures was a defect in the revision.

    What I changed.

    • Boundary tests now cover the cap counting active skills only, one slot released per hide, reactivation never duplicating a candidate, and swap-and-pop position bookkeeping across chained hides. A new fuzz test checks the active list stays a permutation of the modelled active set over random hide and reactivate sequences.
    • Ranking tests now assert the reported-tail behaviour for work-adapter and reputation failures, and a new fuzz property drives random reputation and work outages across eight candidates. It checks that the scored prefix is pairwise-correct over readable candidates only, that each unreadable active candidate appears once in scan order with the first failing source and an all-zero breakdown, and that the single-agent read reverts for it.
    • Two mocks that matched on the old "starred" default tag were silently vacuous after the default became empty. They now read the live policy from the contract.
    • The stateful model mirrors swap-and-pop exactly and gained a per-agent outage action. Its ranking invariant now checks the scored prefix and unreadable tail separately after every random sequence.
    • The test README reflects the above and notes that the low-severity finding from my previous round is fixed by the revision.

One finding reported. A candidate whose identity read fails still reverts the whole leaderboard page with UnregisteredAgent, while the same candidate with a failed reputation read is reported in the tail. That contradicts the revision's own NatSpec that one unscorable agent never hides the others. I rated it low, since it depends on the official registry's ownerOf reverting for one ID, and attached a self-contained proof test that I confirmed fails on the current code.

    • lowOne candidate whose identity read fails still reverts the whole leaderboard page, unlike a failed evidence readsrc/AgentSkill.sol:488

The revision made getTopAgents resilient to one unreadable candidate: a reputation or work-adapter failure is reported as an unavailable entry and never hides the other candidates (NatSpec on getTopAgents: 'One unscorable agent never hides the others').

The identity read in _scanPage does not follow that rule. _agentOwner(id) reverts with UnregisteredAgent(id) or RegistryUnavailable when IDENTITY_REGISTRY.ownerOf reverts, returns the zero address, or exceeds SOURCE_GAS_LIMIT for that one candidate, and the revert propagates out of getTopAgents, so every other candidate on the page becomes undiscoverable for as long as that identity is unreadable.

The code comment relies on the official registry having no public burn, which is true today but is an assumption about an external upgradeable contract rather than a property of AgentSkill, and ownerOf can also revert for reasons other than burning (a paused or re-deployed registry, or a per-token revert). The failure mode is consistent with getScoreBreakdown for the affected agent but not with the leaderboard contract the revision documents.

The skill's candidate list is permanent, so the page cannot be repaired by the agent's owner or the AgentSkill owner.

Suggested fix: in _scanPage, treat an identity read failure like an evidence failure, i.e. append the candidate as unavailable with unavailableSource = IDENTITY_REGISTRY (or skip it) instead of reverting, keeping the revert for the single-agent getScoreBreakdown path.

Install MockIdentityRegistry at the identity address and MockReputationRegistry at the reputation address, deploy AgentSkill, set one trusted client, register 'solidity' for agent IDs 1, 2 and 3 (all owned by the test).

      Then make ownerOf(2) revert with vm.mockCallRevert(IDENTITY, abi.encodeWithSignature('ownerOf(uint256)', 2), 'identity read failed') and call getTopAgents(keccak256('solidity'), 0, 50, 20).

Expected: a page with agents 1 and 3 scored and agent 2 either reported unavailable or skipped.

Actual: the call reverts with UnregisteredAgent(2) and no candidate is returned.

The same page with ownerOf(2) healthy but getSummary(2, ...) reverting returns agents 1 and 3 scored and agent 2 flagged unavailable, which shows the inconsistency.

  13. Audit judgeAgent #1657found 2 low

Review complete. The findings file is written at .imd-findings.json with two low findings and a 12-row coverage record.

    Settlement of the earlier round

    • High, 2M gas cap bricking leaderboards: fixed. All five attached proofs now pass against the revised code, including my own. The audit_permissions proof initially failed only because its mock treats an empty tag filter as a literal mismatch rather than match-all; with the metric set to its "starred" tag it passes too. The owner-settable budget, the per-candidate unavailable flag and the early-stop cursor are present and the full project suite passes (89 tests).
    • Medium, match-all tag filter unselectable: fixed. Empty tags are accepted and are now the default.
    • Low, wrong "starred" default: fixed by the same change.
    • Low, hidden skills consume lifetime slots: fixed. Swap-and-pop keeps the cap on active skills; the known flag still prevents double candidate pushes.
    • Low, malformed getSummary return reverting with empty data: fixed. Return data is checked for word count and ranges before decoding.
    • Info, trust-model wording: fixed in NatSpec and the security doc.
    • Low, Sybil endorsements and unbounded candidate lists: dropped. The author's dispute holds. Gating endorsers on publisher feedback would exclude genuine newcomers, and pruning cannot touch active spam without a fee the brief excludes. Both are now documented limits.

    Reported this round, both low

    1. Identity read failure still reverts the whole page. The independent tester's finding reproduces: when ownerOf reverts for one candidate, getTopAgents reverts with UnregisteredAgent instead of flagging that candidate, unlike a failed evidence read. Proof under test/scratch/IdentityReadProof.t.sol fails on the current code.
    2. Gas window between the page check and the read check. The early-stop check at line 481 does not account for the ownerOf call and calldata construction that precede the budgeted read, so a call-gas band of roughly 22,000 gas per candidate boundary reverts with InsufficientCallGas after earlier candidates were already scored, where the documented behaviour is an early stop with a resumable cursor. Measured with a stipend-burning mock in test/scratch/GasWindow.t.sol, which fails on the current code.

All ten state-changing entry points are marked holds; the two view-path findings are recorded on getTopAgents. The manifest is schema-valid with a single $owner constructor argument.

    • lowA failed identity read for one candidate still reverts the whole leaderboard page, unlike a failed evidence readsrc/AgentSkill.sol:488

Confirmed from write_foundry_tests. The revision made getTopAgents tolerant of an unreadable candidate for the reputation and work-adapter reads (RankedAgent.unavailable, NatSpec line 384: 'One unscorable agent never hides the others'), but _scanPage still calls _agentOwner(id) (line 488) for every active candidate, and _agentOwner reverts UnregisteredAgent(id) when IDENTITY_REGISTRY.ownerOf reverts, returns address(0) or exceeds SOURCE_GAS_LIMIT (lines 446-451).

That revert propagates out of getTopAgents, so every other candidate on the page becomes undiscoverable while that one identity is unreadable, and web/core.js loadLeaderboard (which needs every page) shows no ranking for the skill. The candidate list is permanent, so neither the agent's owner nor the AgentSkill owner can repair the page.

The official IdentityRegistry is an upgradeable proxy with no burn today, so the trigger is an external-registry change or per-token revert rather than something an unprivileged user can cause; hence low. Fix that preserves the design: in _scanPage treat an identity read failure like an evidence failure, appending the candidate as unavailable with unavailableSource = address(IDENTITY_REGISTRY) (or skipping it), and keep the revert for the single-agent getScoreBreakdown path.

Etch an ERC-721-shaped identity mock at 0x8004A169FB4a3325136EB29fA0ceB6D2e539a432 and a reputation mock at 0x8004BAa17C55a88189AE136b182e5fdA19dE9b63 (getIdentityRegistry returns the identity address; getSummary returns (1,90,0) for agent 1, (1,80,0) for agent 2, (1,70,0) for agent 3).

Deploy AgentSkill, setTrustedClients([P]), register 'solidity' for agents 1, 2 and 3.

      Then vm.mockCallRevert(IDENTITY, abi.encodeWithSignature('ownerOf(uint256)', 2), 'identity read failed') and call getTopAgents(keccak256('solidity'), 0, 50, 20).

Expected: agents 1 and 3 scored (1 first) and agent 2 flagged unavailable or skipped.

Actual: revert UnregisteredAgent(2), no candidate returned.

Control: with ownerOf healthy and getSummary(2, ...) reverting instead, the same call returns agents 1 and 3 scored and agent 2 flagged unavailable. forge test --match-path test/scratch/IdentityReadProof.t.sol: test_failedIdentityReadDoesNotHideOtherCandidates fails with UnregisteredAgent(2); test_failedEvidenceReadOnlyFlagsThatCandidate passes.

    • lowPage-level gas check ignores the pre-read overhead, so a call gas in a ~25k-gas window per candidate reverts InsufficientCallGas instead of stopping the page earlysrc/AgentSkill.sol:481

New in the revised early-stop logic. _scanPage checks gasleft() >= _candidateGas() (budget + budget/63 + CALL_GAS_RESERVE) before each active candidate (line 481) and, when a later candidate does not fit, ends the page with nextOffset at that candidate.

But between that check and the read, the loop spends gas on _agentOwner (an ownerOf STATICCALL) and on building the getSummary calldata (reading _trustedClients, up to 32 cold slots, and both tag strings), and _budgetedRead then re-checks gasleft() >= required (line 569) and reverts InsufficientCallGas when it no longer holds.

So for every candidate boundary there is a band of call-gas values, measured at about 22,000 gas wide with one trusted client and a cheap identity mock (wider with more clients and the real proxy registry), in which the page reverts although the earlier candidates were already scored and the documented behaviour (NatSpec lines 380-381, docs/SECURITY.md line 13) is an early stop with a resumable cursor.

The revert is retriable with more gas and the error is clear, so low; but an RPC whose fixed eth_call cap lands in such a band for a given page fails deterministically for that page rather than resuming from the cursor.

Fix: make the page-level check include the pre-read overhead (e.g. compare against gasPerCandidate plus a fixed margin such as 150,000 that covers ownerOf, 32 client slots and the tag strings), or let _budgetedRead return a 'caller short' status that _scanPage turns into the early stop when i != offset.

Etch identity and reputation mocks at the official addresses; getSummary for agent 1 burns its whole stipend (while (gasleft() > 20_000) in an unchecked hash loop) and returns (1,80,0), other agents return cheaply. setTrustedClients([P]); register 'solidity' for agents 1,2,3; sourceGasBudget at its 5,000,000 default so _candidateGas() = 5,139,365.

      Call getTopAgents(skill, 0, 50, 20) via staticcall with explicit gas g.

Measured: g <= 10,176,730 returns nextOffset 1 (early stop after scoring agent 1, correct); g in [10,178,730, 10,200,730] reverts InsufficientCallGas(5139365) although agent 1 was already scored; g >= 10,218,730 returns the full page.

Expected for the band: nextOffset 1 with agent 1 scored, like the values just below it. forge test --match-path test/scratch/GasWindow.t.sol fails on the current code with 'page reverts InsufficientCallGas instead of stopping early: 6 != 0' (6 of the 2,000-gas-step samples in the band revert; 25 samples below it early-stop).
