Audit the SvoStaking contract system in this repository (Solidity 0.8.26, Foundry). Primary target: src/SvoStaking.sol. Also in scope: script/DeployStaking.s.sol (run() deploys; fund() is a separate step). Read for context: src/SovrnToken.sol (the staked SVO token), src/Interfaces.sol (reentrancy Guard), STAKING.md (design notes, trust assumptions, prior audit notes), test/SvoStaking.t.sol, test/DeployStaking.t.sol. Out of scope: src/LifeForceVault.sol, src/SovrnHook.sol and the launch contracts (separately audited). Build/test: forge build && forge test --match-contract "SvoStaking|DeployStaking". Optional real-chain test: FORK_4663_RPC=https://rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com forge test --match-contract StakingForkTest. Write nothing to the repository; deliver report.md with a machine-readable JSON appendix. Tone: factual and plain; no claims of safety beyond the evidence; do not call the contracts audited or secure; no investment language.

DEPLOYMENT CONTEXT. Robinhood Chain, id 4663. SVO = 0x7f7e9b8e9f754c3076e514852552019cb571461b (plain 18-decimal ERC-20, fixed 1B supply, no hooks). Reward token IMD = 0x5F7Bb59365ce557C26dbcAa4EE9d39A4b95B7127 (an ERC-20 with its own single-key owner, blocklist, transfer gate and LayerZero bridge: treat as untrusted). The funder is a Safe v1.5.0 at 0x589A639529220f66a2661A41753e3fd432f48DA0 on 4663 (2-of-3, no modules, no guard; owners 0xa71Fb297aa443aDfc22Ff74981D8C067ec3475Cb, 0x217C05f5D1D1E595BBae94534540B803bfC4563B, 0xb1eC9d1C36974d05eb9889eBf8A150b05791E559). It holds the 100,000,000 SVO founder allocation, will be the immutable funder, will call approve + fund() as a batch and, after 365 days, may call reclaim(). The IMD rewards come from a different Safe (the immutable LifeForceVault's refuel Safe 0xEb57c52272B90F989C41B739e2ccc5f00bF7697C, 2-of-3).

WHAT IT DOES. Stakers stake SVO and earn IMD. IMD is not minted: the refuel Safe sends Solomon's surplus IMD here and anyone calls notify(), which streams all IMD not yet accounted over 7 days, per second, pro rata by stake (Synthetix StakingRewards style). While a stream is running notify() accepts new IMD only if it is at least a tenth of what remains (otherwise it reverts and the IMD waits). Emission while nothing is staked rolls into the next stream. The funder deposits SVO once via fund() as a burn-match pool: matchBurn() is permissionless and burns the same amount again for SVO burned elsewhere (read from the token's totalBurned), limited to a linear 365-day vest, with unmatched burns carried forward. After 365 days the funder may reclaim() the unmatched remainder once (waiting burns are matched first), which closes the pool. unstake() moves only SVO, so a misbehaving IMD can block claim() but never principal. hasAccess(addr) = at least 1,000,000 SVO staked for at least 1 day (a top-up resets the age); an off-chain app uses it to grant 30-minute voice sessions instead of 10. No owner, no pause, no upgradeability; the funder is fixed at deploy.

AUDIT SCOPE. (1) SECURITY: reward accounting (rewardsReserved vs the real balance, rounding and dust, undistributed/leftover double counting, lastUpdate before the first stream and after periodFinish, first/last-staker and zero-staker cases); theft, lock-up or griefing of staked SVO or earned IMD, including third-party donations and notify() timing, sandwiching and stream manipulation, and whether the tenth-of-remaining rule can itself be abused; burnSnapshot arithmetic (underflow, own-burn handling, forced over-matching, front-running reclaim, vesting boundaries); reentrancy and hostile reward-token behaviour (callbacks, fee-on-transfer, false-returning, reverting or blocklisting IMD, destroyed contract, rebasing), confirming staked SVO can never be blocked by IMD; access-tier gaming; funder-only functions including a Safe as funder; any path that moves SVO or IMD other than unstake, claim, matchBurn and reclaim; the deploy script (wrong-chain and wrong-token guards, funder handling, anything that could fund the wrong contract or amount). (2) COMPLIANCE: do code, comments and STAKING.md match behaviour; list every claim the code does not enforce (for example the contract cannot pull the surplus out of the vault, so the refuel Safe sending it is a trust assumption); the launch README (outside this scope) says SVO holders receive no payouts, rewards or returns and this contract changes that for stakers, so say what disclosures a project in this position usually needs (observations, not legal advice); flag centralisation powers (funder reclaim, refuel Safe discretion, IMD owner powers). (3) CODE QUALITY: NatSpec and event accuracy, custom errors, naming, dead code, gas, unchecked or low-level calls, and test gaps with the tests you would add.

STANDARDS. SWC Registry; Consensys Smart Contract Best Practices; Solidity Style Guide; OWASP Smart Contract Top 10; ERC-20 (EIP-20) behaviour including non-standard tokens, compared with OpenZeppelin SafeERC20 conventions; Synthetix StakingRewards / Uniswap staker reward semantics as the reference design (list each intentional deviation and judge whether it is safe).

FIXED SINCE EARLIER REVIEWS (verify the fixes and try to break them). notify() could be called for free to stretch a running stream (now needs new IMD of at least a tenth of what is left). claim() now reverts if the reward token has no code. reclaim() has its own AlreadyReclaimed error and unmatchedBurns() is 0 after reclaim. The constructor rejects rewardToken == token. DeployStaking requires an explicit STAKING_FUNDER (no default) and fund() checks the chain, that the staking contract's token is SVO_TOKEN and that its reward token is IMD. STAKING.md now lists the trust assumptions. A prior external review of commit 8a3222d found no critical or high issues; its low findings were: fund() trusting STAKING_CONTRACT, two funded matchers matching each other's burns, the IMD owner freezing claims, rewardToken == token, stretching a stream for a tenth of the remainder, and weak token identity checks in the script.

KNOWN AND ACCEPTED (do not report as new, but dispute them if you disagree). A burn made just before reclaim() forces the pool to match it, at a cost to the burner equal to the matched amount. With nobody else staked, a staker of any size earns the whole stream. Rewards assume an 18-decimal IMD (per-update rounding is at most totalStaked/1e18 wei and accumulates across updates). The same SVO can rotate across accounts to rent the access tier, about one new account per day. SVO or IMD sent by plain transfer (not stake, fund or notify) is stranded. Small notify() deposits during a running stream wait until the stream ends or the threshold is met. Restarting a running stream costs the donor a tenth of the remainder in real IMD and only delays rewards.

REPORT FORMAT. 1) Summary: overall risk rating, finding counts by severity, top 3 issues. 2) Findings table sorted most severe first: ID | Severity (Critical/High/Medium/Low/Info) | Category (Security/Compliance/Quality) | Location (file:line) | Title. 3) Per finding: description, a concrete exploit or failure scenario with numbers or a call sequence (a failing Foundry test is ideal), impact, a suggested fix, and confidence (Confirmed / Likely / Possible). 4) 'Checked and found fine': the properties verified. 5) Assumptions and out-of-scope items relied on. 6) Machine-readable appendix: findings as JSON [{id, severity, category, file, line, title, status}]. No generic advice. If you ran code, include the commands or test files.

  • 1.lowHostile reward-token balance overflows _updateGlobal and permanently locks unstake(), contradicting the 'never principal' guaranteesrc/SvoStaking.sol:256

            else rewardPerTokenStored += emitted * PRECISION / totalStaked;

    notify() sets rewardsReserved and rewardRate from whatever rewardToken.balanceOf(this) returns, with no upper bound (lines 131-143). stake(), unstake() and claim() all run _update() -> _updateGlobal(), which computes emitted * PRECISION in checked arithmetic.

    If the reported balance makes emitted between two updates exceed about 1.16e59 wei, every _updateGlobal reverts with panic 0x11. lastUpdate never advances and after periodFinish emitted is fixed at (periodFinish - lastUpdate) * rewardRate, so the state cannot recover: unstake() reverts forever and all staked SVO is locked.

    This contradicts SvoStaking.sol:16-17 and STAKING.md:29 ('an IMD that misbehaves can block claim but never stakers' principal'): the guarantee rests on the reward token's supply bound, not on the code.

    Reachability with the deployed IMD (0x5F7B...7127, checked with cast against rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com): totalSupply 5.47e22, decimals 18, no EIP-1967 implementation slot, no mint(address,uint256)/mint(uint256) selector in the bytecode, LayerZero OFT credits are bounded by uint64 shared-decimal units (~1.8e31 wei). The threshold cannot realistically be reached with this IMD, so severity is Low.

    Merged from audit_permissions (26b99a63) and audit_flow (5f75fe26); both attached proofs fail on this code with panic 0x11.

    Reward token whose balanceOf(staking) returns 1e66 (or 1e61). alice stakes 5,000,000 SVO; anyone calls notify() (rewardRate = 1e66 / 604800 ~= 1.65e60 per second); warp 1 second; alice.unstake(5_000_000e18).

    Expected: alice receives 5,000,000 SVO (unstake moves only SVO).

    Actual: revert panic(0x11) in _updateGlobal at line 256, and at every later timestamp.

    Reproduced: forge test --match-path test/scratch/Proof_5f75fe261cb5.t.sol -> [FAIL: panic: arithmetic underflow or overflow (0x11)].

    Fix: in notify() revert if total > type(uint256).max / PRECISION / REWARD_PERIOD (or a much tighter cap such as 1e40), and/or give unstake() a path that does not depend on reward math (e.g. an exit that forfeits accrual when _update would revert).

  • 2.lowDeployStaking pins IMD but not SVO: any SovrnToken clone passes run(), fund() checks against the same env var, and EXPECT_CHAIN_ID disables the chain guardscript/DeployStaking.s.sol:34

            require(SovrnToken(svo).totalSupply() == 1_000_000_000 ether, "SVO_TOKEN is not SVO");

    run() identifies SVO only by totalSupply == 1e27 and symbol == 'SVO' (lines 34-35). Both are compile-time constants of SovrnToken, so every SovrnToken deployment passes (the repository's own test/DeployStaking.t.sol deploys a fresh SovrnToken and runs the script).

    The canonical SVO 0x7f7e9b8e9f754c3076e514852552019cb571461b is never compared, although IMD is pinned as a constant on line 26. fund() (line 58) only compares staking.token() with the same SVO_TOKEN env var, so a wrong SVO_TOKEN is self-consistent across both steps and nothing catches it.

    The chain guard (lines 30 and 52) compares against vm.envOr('EXPECT_CHAIN_ID', 4663), so a leftover EXPECT_CHAIN_ID turns it off; IMD is a LayerZero OFT and may have code at the same address on other chains, so the IMD code check does not pin the chain either. STAKING_FUNDER is not compared with the intended Safe 0x589A...8DA0.

    Impact: an immutable staking contract bound to the wrong token, chain or funder can be deployed and published to the app without any guard firing; real SVO is not taken, but stakers of the wrong token are. Merged from audit_permissions (2071ea37), audit_math (3687bb79), audit_flow (67ea3f89) and audit_economics (8dbaaa5b).

    chainid 4663, SVO_TOKEN=, STAKING_FUNDER=: script.run() succeeds and staking.token() == the impostor (expected: revert 'SVO_TOKEN is not SVO'); with STAKING_CONTRACT set to it, script.fund() also succeeds with matchTotal == 100_000_000e18 of the impostor. chainid 1 with EXPECT_CHAIN_ID=1 and code at the IMD address: script.run() deploys (expected: revert 'wrong chain').

    Reproduced: forge test --match-path test/scratch/DeployGuards.t.sol (test_deployScriptGuards passes, demonstrating both).

    Fix: add constants SVO = 0x7f7e9b8e9f754c3076e514852552019cb571461b, CHAIN_ID = 4663 and FUNDER = 0x589A639529220f66a2661A41753e3fd432f48DA0; require svo == SVO in run() and staking.token() == SVO in fund(); drop the EXPECT_CHAIN_ID override or allow it only together with an explicit test-only flag.

  • 3.lowFUND_AMOUNT in whole units (1e8 wei) passes the script and the contract floor; the one-shot fund() slot is then spent on a dust poolscript/DeployStaking.s.sol:54

            uint256 amount = vm.envOr("FUND_AMOUNT", DEFAULT_FUND);

    The script reads FUND_AMOUNT as a raw uint with no plausibility floor, and the contract's only floor (src/SvoStaking.sol:156, amount < MATCH_DURATION) is 31,536,000 wei, chosen so the pool vests at least 1 wei per second.

    An operator who sets FUND_AMOUNT=100000000 (whole SVO instead of wei) passes every script check (chain, token, reward token, funder, balance) and the contract check, and funds the burn-match pool with 100,000,000 wei = 1e-10 SVO. fund() is one-shot (matchStart != 0 reverts AlreadyFunded), so the real 100,000,000 SVO allocation can never be deposited into that deployment; STAKING_CONTRACT must be redeployed and re-pinned in the app.

    The same wrong-unit value is what a Safe batch would carry if the amount is typed in whole units in the Safe UI, and the Safe path (approve + fund batch, as the script comments recommend) bypasses the script checks entirely. No value is lost (the funder keeps its SVO; the dust is reclaimable after 365 days), but the deployment is unrecoverable. STAKING.md:14 'up to 10% of supply' is not enforced in either direction.

    Merged from audit_math (9fe986dd) and audit_economics (10550100).

    Env: SVO_TOKEN=, STAKING_FUNDER=, STAKING_CONTRACT=, FUND_AMOUNT=100000000.

    Expected: refused as implausible (default is 100000000000000000000000000).

    Actual: fund() succeeds, staking.matchTotal() == 100000000 (wei), svo.balanceOf(staking) == 100000000, and a following staking.fund(100_000_000 ether) from the funder reverts AlreadyFunded().

    Contract boundary: fund(31_535_999) reverts InvalidAmount, fund(31_536_000) succeeds.

    Reproduced: forge test --match-path test/scratch/DeployGuards.t.sol (test_deployScriptGuards).

    Fix: in the script require amount == DEFAULT_FUND unless an explicit override env is set, or require amount >= 1 ether && amount % 1 ether == 0 and print the amount in whole SVO; optionally raise the contract floor in fund() (e.g. 1 ether) since 31,536,000 wei only guarantees 1 wei/s vesting.

  • 4.infoTenth-of-remaining rule counts IMD already waiting, so a third party can restart a running stream for the shortfall or for freesrc/SvoStaking.sol:140

            if (leftover != 0 && (added == 0 || added < leftover / 10)) revert InvalidAmount();

    Disputes the wording of an accepted item. added is the whole unaccounted balance, not the caller's own transfer.

    STAKING.md:13 and the audit notes say restarting a running stream 'costs the donor a tenth of the remainder in real IMD'; in practice the cost is borne by whoever's IMD is already waiting (normally a sub-threshold refuel-Safe deposit), and the restart is then triggered by any address either for the shortfall only or for nothing once leftover has decayed to ten times the waiting amount.

    Nothing is lost (the same restart would happen on the Safe's next deposit), but it is a timing lever any third party holds whenever a deposit is waiting: the remainder is re-spread over a fresh 7 days and the per-second rate drops. Merged from audit_math (e94afd98) and audit_economics (84f0cde1).

    alice stakes 1,000,000 SVO; 7000 IMD notified (1000/day).

    At day 6 leftover ~= 1000 IMD; the Safe sends 99 IMD: notify() reverts (99 < 100). mallory sends 1 IMD and calls notify(): succeeds, added = 100, periodFinish = now + 7 days, rewardRate = 1100/7 days; alice's next-day accrual is ~157 IMD instead of ~1000.

    Restart cost to mallory: 1 IMD (0.1% of the remainder).

    Zero-cost variant: 2000 IMD stream, Safe sends 100 at t0 (waits), at t0 + 3.5 days leftover = 1000 and notify() from 0xBAD succeeds, rate falls 45%.

    Reproduced: forge test --match-path test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol (test_waitingDepositLetsThirdPartyRestartForTheShortfall, test_waitingDepositLetsAnyoneRestartForFree).

    Fix (design choice): reword STAKING.md ('costs whoever's IMD is waiting; anyone may trigger it once the threshold is met'), or measure the threshold against IMD sent since the last successful notify by a recorded source, or restrict mid-stream restarts to the refuel Safe.

  • 5.infoContract NatSpec says 'no withdraw of the pools' but reclaim() withdraws the unmatched match pool to the fundersrc/SvoStaking.sol:9

    /// @dev No owner, no upgrade path, no withdraw of the pools.

    The contract-level summary contradicts reclaim() (lines 174-185), which sends matchTotal - matchUsed SVO to the funder once, 365 days after fund(); with no burns that is the full 100,000,000 SVO. Lines 22-24 of the same comment and STAKING.md describe reclaim correctly; a reader of the summary line or verified source gets a stronger guarantee than the contract enforces and misses the funder's main power.

    Merged from audit_permissions (1f26c4ce), audit_math (92244a63), audit_economics (4d6f9ece) and audit_flow (33716e9d).

    fund(100_000_000e18); warp 365 days; no burns; funder calls reclaim().

    Expected per line 9: no path moves pool SVO to anyone but DEAD.

    Actual: reclaim() returns 100,000,000 SVO to the funder (test/SvoStaking.t.sol::test_reclaimOnlyFunderOnlyAfterAYearOnlyOnce and test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol::test_reclaimWithdrawsWholePoolToFunder).

    Fix: 'No owner, no upgrade path; the only withdrawal is the funder's one-time reclaim() of the unmatched match pool after MATCH_DURATION.'

  • 6.infonotify() NatSpec says 'extend' but a successful mid-stream notify restarts the stream and lowers the current ratesrc/SvoStaking.sol:125

        /// @notice Start (or extend) the stream with IMD that has arrived since the last call. Anyone may call.

    notify() sets periodFinish = now + 7 days and rewardRate = (added + leftover + undistributed) / 7 days. The leftover is re-spread over a fresh period, so the per-second rate can fall sharply rather than merely be extended. The test name test_secondOverflowExtendsStreamWithoutLosingLeftover repeats the wording.

    From audit_economics (93b593c1) and audit_flow (33716e9d, second part).

    alice stakes 1,000,000 SVO; 7000 IMD stream (1000/day).

    At day 6 (leftover 1000) notify with 100 new IMD: rewardRate becomes 1100e18 / 604800 ~= 157/day for 7 days, less than a sixth of the previous rate.

    A reader of 'extend' expects 1000/day to continue plus more.

    Reproduced: forge test --match-path test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol (test_notifyRestartsAtLowerRate).

    Fix: 'Start (or restart over a new REWARD_PERIOD, with what is left plus the new IMD) the stream ...'.

  • 7.infoRewardAdded.streamed reports `total`, which includes rounding dust that is not streamed this periodsrc/SvoStaking.sol:147

            emit RewardAdded(added, total, rewardRate, periodFinish);

    notify() computes rewardRate = total / REWARD_PERIOD and carries the remainder (up to 604,799 wei) in undistributed for the next stream, but the event's streamed field is total, so every RewardAdded over-reports what the period emits by the dust, and the dust is reported again in the next RewardAdded. Off-chain sums of streamed drift from rewardRate * REWARD_PERIOD sums and from totalNotified. No on-chain effect.

    Merged from audit_permissions (a6638d28) and audit_math (c01414e7).

    One staker; send 700e18 IMD and call notify(). rewardRate = 700e18 / 604800 = 1157407407407407; rewardRate * 604800 = 699999999999999753600; the event emits streamed = 700000000000000000000 (246,400 wei more than is streamed) and undistributed() == 246400 afterwards.

    Reproduced: forge test --match-path test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol (test_rewardAddedStreamedIncludesUnstreamedDust).

    Fix: emit rewardRate * REWARD_PERIOD as streamed (and optionally the carried dust), or rename the field to total.

  • 8.infoStaked/Unstaked event field 'total' is the account's stake, not totalStakedsrc/SvoStaking.sol:63

        event Staked(address indexed account, uint256 amount, uint256 total);

    stake() and unstake() emit staked[msg.sender] in a field named 'total' (lines 97 and 107). The contract also exposes a public totalStaked, so an indexer that reads 'total' as the pool total gets wrong numbers. From audit_flow (0a1e9a92).

    alice stakes 1,000,000e18, then bob stakes 2,000,000e18.

    Bob's Staked event has total = 2,000,000e18 while totalStaked = 3,000,000e18.

    Reproduced: forge test --match-path test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol (test_stakedEventTotalIsAccountStake).

    Fix: rename the field to accountTotal (or emit totalStaked as well).

  • 9.infoSTAKING.md says the pool is 'up to 10% of supply'; fund() enforces only amount >= 365 days in weiSTAKING.md:14

    | Burn-match pool | `fund(amount)`, once, only by the `funder` set at deploy (the founder's SVO, up to 10% of supply); vests linearly over `MATCH_DURATION` (365 days) |

    fund() (src/SvoStaking.sol:156) checks only amount >= MATCH_DURATION (31,536,000 wei). The 10% bound and the 100,000,000 SVO figure are funder commitments, not contract properties; the matching rate per second and what reclaim() returns both scale with whatever is funded. From audit_permissions (e2a9ae7a).

    A funder holding 200,000,000 SVO calls fund(200_000_000e18): succeeds, matchTotal == 200_000_000e18 (20% of supply); a fresh contract accepts fund(31_536_000) as a 365-wei-per-day pool.

    Expected per the doc: at most 100,000,000 SVO.

    Reproduced: forge test --match-path test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol (test_fundAcceptsMoreThanTenPercentAndDust).

    Fix: enforce a bound (amount <= token.totalSupply() / 10) or state in STAKING.md that the amount is chosen by the funder and is verifiable only from the Funded event / matchTotal.

    Observation, not legal advice. README.md:3 states 'SVO holders receive no payouts, rewards or returns' and does not mention this contract; STAKING.md only says the README statement covers the launch contracts. With SvoStaking, staking SVO yields IMD pro rata from a project-controlled Safe's discretionary transfers, and the founder pool burns SVO.

    Projects in this position usually disclose, where users actually read: that rewards are discretionary and may be zero indefinitely (the Safe is not obliged on chain); the IMD owner's blocklist and transfer-gate powers over claims; the funder's one-time reclaim of up to the whole pool after a year; that burn-matching is not a value or price commitment; and a pointer from the README to STAKING.md so the two statements are reconciled. From audit_economics (eb5e1726).

    State: a user reads README.md:3 ('SVO holders receive no payouts, rewards or returns'), stakes 1,000,000 SVO, the Safe sends IMD and anyone calls notify(); after 7 days the user's claim() pays IMD (test/SvoStaking.t.sol::test_overflowStreamsToStakersOverAWeek).

    The README contains no reference to SvoStaking or STAKING.md (grep -n 'staking' README.md returns nothing).

    Fix: add a linked disclosure section to README.md and the app's staking page covering the points above.

    1. L-01: if the reward token reports an absurdly large balance, the reward math overflows and unstake is locked permanently. That breaks the "never principal" promise. I could not reach it with the deployed IMD.
    2. L-02: the deploy script hard-codes IMD's address but not SVO's. Its SVO identity check can be faked, and the EXPECT_CHAIN_ID environment variable can override the chain guard.
    3. I-01: the NatSpec says there is no withdrawal of the pools, which contradicts reclaim(). It also says notify() "extends" a stream when it restarts it.

    3) Details

    L-01: A hostile reward-token balance locks principal

    • What happens: notify() takes whatever balanceOf(this) returns, with no upper bound.
      • When emitted * 1e18 exceeds 2^256, _updateGlobal reverts with an overflow (panic 0x11).
      • stake, unstake and claim all go through _update, so all three revert.
      • lastUpdate never moves forward, so they revert forever. matchBurn and reclaim still work.
    • Steps:
      1. Use a reward token whose balanceOf returns 1e66.
      2. Alice stakes 5,000,000 SVO.
      3. Anyone calls notify(), which sets the rate to 1.65e60 per second.
      4. Warp 1 second, then call unstake(5,000,000e18).
      • Expected: Alice gets her SVO back. Actual: panic 0x11, every time.
      • The Foundry test is in the JSON proof field. It fails on the current code and passes once unstake works. It wraps notify() in try/catch, so a fix that makes notify() reject the balance also passes.
    • Why Low: it contradicts SvoStaking.sol:16-17 and STAKING.md:29. But I could not reach it with the deployed IMD: on chain 4663 it is not an EIP-1967 proxy, its totalSupply is 5.486e22, and LayerZero OFT credits are limited per message.
    • Fix: in notify(), revert when total > type(uint256).max / PRECISION / REWARD_PERIOD (or apply a fixed cap such as 1e36). Alternatively, add an emergencyUnstake that skips the reward math.
    • Confidence: Confirmed.

    L-02: Deploy-script token identity and chain guard

    • What happens: run() accepts any token that reports symbol "SVO" and totalSupply 1e27. fund() only compares staking.token() with the same environment variable and runs no identity check of its own.
    • Example: redeploy SovrnToken on 4663 and pass it as SVO_TOKEN. run() deploys a staking contract for the wrong token.
    • Impact: real SVO is not taken, but the app could be pointed at a contract that stakes the wrong token. Separately, a leftover EXPECT_CHAIN_ID turns the chain guard off, and on another chain the IMD constant is a different contract or none.
    • Fix: add a constant for SVO (0x7f7e…461b) and require it in both run() and fund(), and remove the EXPECT_CHAIN_ID override.
    • Confidence: Confirmed by reading the code.

    • lowHostile reward-token balance overflows _updateGlobal and permanently locks unstake (principal), contradicting the 'never principal' guaranteesrc/SvoStaking.sol:256

      notify() sets rewardsReserved and rewardRate from whatever rewardToken.balanceOf(this) returns, with no upper bound. If the reported balance is above about 1.16e59 * REWARD_PERIOD / dt, then emitted * PRECISION overflows the checked arithmetic in _updateGlobal(). stake(), unstake() and claim() all call _update(), so each of them reverts with panic 0x11. lastUpdate never advances, and emitted only grows until periodFinish, so the state cannot be recovered.

      That breaks the documented property (SvoStaking.sol:16-17, STAKING.md:29) that a misbehaving IMD can block claim but never principal. matchBurn and reclaim are not affected. I could not reach this with the deployed IMD: it is not an EIP-1967 proxy, its totalSupply on 4663 is 5.486e22, and LayerZero OFT credits are bounded per message. So this is Low.

      It is a real gap in a property the contract states for any rewardToken, including a future IMD redeploy or a token with a buggy balanceOf.

      Reward token whose balanceOf returns 1e66. alice stakes 5,000,000 SVO; anyone calls notify() (rewardRate = 1e66/604800 = 1.65e60); warp 1 s; alice.unstake(5,000,000e18).

      Expected: alice receives 5,000,000 SVO.

      Actual: reverts with panic 0x11 (arithmetic overflow) at _updateGlobal, and keeps reverting at every later time.

      Fix: bound what notify() accepts (e.g. revert if total > type(uint256).max / PRECISION / REWARD_PERIOD, or cap at a sane maximum such as 1e36).

      Alternatively, give unstake a path that does not need reward math, e.g. an emergencyUnstake that forfeits accrual.

    • lowDeployStaking pins IMD's address but not SVO's; the SVO identity check is spoofable and EXPECT_CHAIN_ID can override the chain guardscript/DeployStaking.s.sol:34

      run() identifies SVO only by totalSupply == 1e27 and symbol == 'SVO'. Any token can return those values. fund() goes further: it only compares staking.token() with the same SVO_TOKEN env var and runs no identity check at all. The known SVO address 0x7f7e9b8e9f754c3076e514852552019cb571461b is not a constant, although IMD is hard-coded on line 26.

      The chain guard on lines 30 and 52 compares against vm.envOr("EXPECT_CHAIN_ID", 4663), so a leftover EXPECT_CHAIN_ID from a test run turns the guard off. The IMD constant is then a different contract, or no contract, on that chain.

      On 4663 deploy a token reporting symbol 'SVO' and totalSupply 1e27, for example the repo's own SovrnToken redeployed.

      Run SVO_TOKEN= STAKING_FUNDER= forge script ... --sig run().

      Expected: revert 'SVO_TOKEN is not SVO'.

      Actual: an SvoStaking for the wrong token is deployed, and fund() with the same env passes every check up to the transferFrom.

      Real SVO is not taken, but the address published to the app accepts stakes of the wrong token.

      Fix: add constant SVO = 0x7f7e...461b, require svo == SVO in run() and fund(), and drop the EXPECT_CHAIN_ID override or allow it only with a non-4663 IMD/SVO pair.

    • infoNatSpec says 'no withdraw of the pools' but reclaim() withdraws the burn-match pool to the fundersrc/SvoStaking.sol:9

      The contract-level @dev line contradicts reclaim() (lines 174-185), which sends matchTotal - matchUsed SVO to the funder after 365 days. With no burns that is the full 100,000,000 SVO. A reader of the NatSpec or the verified source would miss the funder's main power.

      Line 125 has a similar problem: it says notify() can 'extend' the stream, but notify() restarts it, re-spreading the leftover over a new 7 days and lowering the per-second rate on the existing remainder.

      fund(100_000_000e18); warp 365 days; no burns; funder calls reclaim().

      Expected per line 9: no pool withdrawal.

      Actual: 100,000,000 SVO is transferred to the funder.

      Fix: change line 9 to 'no withdraw of the pools except the funder's one-time reclaim() after MATCH_DURATION', and change 'extend' on line 125 to 'restart'.

    • infoStaked/Unstaked event field 'total' is the account's stake, not totalStakedsrc/SvoStaking.sol:63

      stake() and unstake() emit staked[msg.sender] in the field named 'total'. The contract also has a public totalStaked, so an indexer that reads 'total' as the pool total gets wrong numbers.

      alice stakes 1,000,000e18, then bob stakes 2,000,000e18.

      Bob's Staked event has total = 2,000,000e18, while totalStaked = 3,000,000e18.

      Fix: rename the field to accountTotal, or emit totalStaked as well.

    3. Details

    L-1 (Confirmed).

    • Cause: fund() reverts AlreadyFunded after the first call, and its only lower bound is MATCH_DURATION wei. Nothing else checks the amount:
      • not the contract;
      • not DeployStaking.fund() (FUND_AMOUNT is read with vm.envOr, script line 54);
      • not the Safe batch the docs recommend.
    • Docs: STAKING.md:14 says "up to 10% of supply", which is not enforced.
    • Scenario:
      1. The funder calls fund(100_000_000), meaning 100_000_000 ether. It succeeds and matchTotal becomes 1e8 wei.
      2. A second fund(100_000_000 ether) reverts AlreadyFunded.
      3. Someone burns 1 SVO and a year passes. matchBurn() matches only 1e8 wei, and unmatchedBurns() is 1e18 − 1e8.
    • Impact: the founder allocation cannot be added to this contract. It has to be redeployed, and the app has to move to the new address. The dust can only be reclaimed after 365 days.
    • Fix, either of:
      • In the script, require amount == DEFAULT_FUND unless an explicit override flag is set, and give the Safe batch an equivalent pre-check.
      • In the contract, enforce a meaningful minimum, or allow top-ups until the first match.

    I-1 (Confirmed). This disputes the accepted "a restart costs a tenth" note.

    • Cause: added counts all IMD not yet accounted for, including refuel-Safe deposits that are waiting below the threshold.
    • Scenario:
      1. 7,000 IMD is streamed at 1,000 per day.
      2. On day 6, 1,000 IMD is left. The Safe sends 99 IMD, which is below the 100 threshold, so notify() reverts.
      3. Mallory sends 1 IMD and calls notify(). The remaining 1,100 IMD is now spread over 7 days, so the next day's accrual is 157 IMD instead of 1,000.
    • Impact: a restart that would cost 100 IMD under the documented rule cost 1 IMD. Nothing is lost; rewards only shift later.
    • Fix: if this matters, measure the threshold against new IMD from a recorded source. Otherwise, document that the cost is only the shortfall.

    • lowOne-shot fund() accepts any amount >= 31,536,000 wei; a units mistake permanently consumes the only funding slotsrc/SvoStaking.sol:156

      fund() can be called once (AlreadyFunded afterwards) and its only lower bound is MATCH_DURATION wei (3.15e-11 SVO). Neither the contract nor DeployStaking.fund() (FUND_AMOUNT via vm.envOr, script line 54), nor the manual Safe batch path the docs recommend for the real funder, check that the amount is the intended 100,000,000 SVO. STAKING.md line 14 says 'up to 10% of supply', which is not enforced in either direction.

      A FUND_AMOUNT/Safe-batch value entered without the 18 decimals funds a dust pool, the real allocation can never be added, and the dust is only reclaimable after 365 days; the fix is a redeploy (new address for the app and users).

      funder: svo.approve(staking, max); staking.fund(100_000_000) (meant 100_000_000 ether) -> succeeds, matchTotal = 1e8 wei. staking.fund(100_000_000 ether) -> reverts AlreadyFunded.

      After alice burns 1 SVO and 365 days pass, matchBurn() matches 1e8 wei and unmatchedBurns() = 1e18 - 1e8.

      Expected: an amount far below the allocation is rejected or can be topped up.

      Verified with test/scratch/Probe.t.sol::test_fundDecimalsMistakeLocksPool (passes, demonstrating the state).

      Fix: in the script require amount == DEFAULT_FUND unless an explicit override flag is set, and/or in the contract require amount >= a meaningful floor (e.g. 1 ether * MATCH_DURATION) or allow additional funding before matching starts.

    • infoTenth-of-remaining rule counts IMD already waiting, so a third party can restart the stream for far less than a tenthsrc/SvoStaking.sol:140

      Disputes the accepted note that restarting a running stream costs the donor a tenth of the remainder. added is all unaccounted IMD, including refuel-Safe deposits that are waiting below the threshold. Anyone can add only the shortfall and call notify(), re-spreading the remainder over a fresh 7 days and cutting the current per-second rate. Nothing is lost (it is the same restart the Safe's next deposit would trigger), so impact is a timing/rate shift at a cost below a tenth.

      alice stakes 1M SVO; 7000 IMD notified (1000/day).

      At day 6 leftover = 1000; the Safe sends 99 IMD (notify reverts, below 100). mallory sends 1 IMD and calls notify(): the stream restarts with 1100 over 7 days; alice's next-day accrual is 157 IMD instead of 1000.

      Restart cost to mallory: 1 IMD (0.1% of remainder), not 100.

      Verified with test/scratch/Probe.t.sol::test_piggybackRestart.

      Fix if undesired: measure the threshold against IMD sent since the last successful notify by a recorded source, or document that the cost is the shortfall, not a tenth.

    • infoContract NatSpec says there is no withdraw of the pools, but reclaim() withdraws the match pool to the fundersrc/SvoStaking.sol:9

      reclaim() (line 174) sends matchTotal - matchUsed SVO to the funder once, 365 days after fund(). The header contradicts this; the body text further down (line 23) and STAKING.md describe it correctly.

      fund(100M SVO); warp 365 days with no burns; funder calls reclaim() -> 100M SVO transferred to funder.

      Expected per line 9: no pool withdrawal.

      Fix: 'no withdraw of the pools except the funder's one-time reclaim() of the unmatched remainder'.

    • infonotify() NatSpec says 'extend' but a successful notify during a stream restarts it, lowering the current ratesrc/SvoStaking.sol:125

      notify() sets periodFinish = now + 7 days and rewardRate = (added + leftover + undistributed)/7 days. The leftover is re-spread, so the rate can fall sharply, not merely be extended; the test name test_secondOverflowExtendsStreamWithoutLosingLeftover repeats the wording.

      Stream of 7000 IMD; at day 6 (leftover 1000, rate 1000/day) notify with 100 new IMD -> rate becomes 1100/7 = 157/day for 7 days.

      A reader of 'extend' expects 1000/day to continue plus more.

      Fix: say 'restart over a new REWARD_PERIOD with what is left plus the new IMD'.

    • infoDeploy script: chain guard is env-overridable and SVO is not pinned to its known addressscript/DeployStaking.s.sol:30

      IMD is pinned as a constant but SVO (0x7f7e9b8e9f754c3076e514852552019cb571461b) comes only from SVO_TOKEN and is checked by totalSupply() and symbol(), which any token can return. fund() only checks staking.token() == SVO_TOKEN, so a consistent wrong SVO_TOKEN passes both steps. EXPECT_CHAIN_ID replaces the 4663 guard; IMD is a LayerZero OFT, which may exist at the same address on other chains, so the IMD code check does not by itself pin the chain.

      SVO_TOKEN=<any contract returning symbol 'SVO' and totalSupply 1e27> run() -> deploys a staking contract for that token; fund() with the same SVO_TOKEN passes the token check.

      EXPECT_CHAIN_ID= on another chain where code exists at the IMD address -> run() deploys there.

      Fix: hard-code SVO_TOKEN = 0x7f7e...461b and chain id 4663 for the production path (keep overrides only behind an explicit test flag).

    • infoStaking changes the 'no payouts' position for SVO holders; disclosures are only partialSTAKING.md:4

      Observation, not legal advice. With this contract, staking SVO yields IMD pro rata, sourced from a project-controlled Safe's discretionary transfers, while the founder pool burns SVO (supply reduction).

      Projects in this position usually disclose: that rewards are discretionary and may be zero indefinitely (the Safe is not obliged on-chain); the IMD owner's blocklist/transfer-gate powers over claims; the funder's reclaim of up to the full 100M SVO after a year; that the burn-match is not a price or value commitment; tax/jurisdiction notes; and they reconcile the README statement for users who only read the README.

      State: a user reads README ('SVO holders receive no payouts, rewards or returns'), stakes 1M SVO, and after a notify() of IMD earns IMD via claim().

      The README does not mention this contract; STAKING.md only says the README statement covers the launch contracts.

      Fix: add a linked disclosure section in README and the app's staking page.

So "a misbehaving IMD can never block principal" holds only because of IMD's supply limit, not because of the code. I checked the deployed IMD on chain 4663: it isn't upgradeable, the owner can't mint, and supply is 5.49e22. It can't reach that threshold today, hence Low. Suggested fix: cap the total in notify().
    L-02Lowscript/DeployStaking.s.sol:34run() treats any freshly deployed copy of SovrnToken as SVO, because it only checks supply and symbol. Setting EXPECT_CHAIN_ID=1 turns off the wrong-chain check. Neither the real SVO address nor the funder Safe is pinned in the script. The real Safe also funds through its own batch, so the script's fund() checks never run for the actual deployment.
    I-01Infosrc/SvoStaking.sol:9The contract comment says "no withdraw of the pools", but reclaim() returns the unmatched pool to the funder.
    I-02Infosrc/SvoStaking.sol:147The RewardAdded event's streamed field includes the rounding remainder, which isn't streamed and gets reported again by the next event.
    I-03InfoSTAKING.md:14"Up to 10% of supply" isn't enforced: fund() accepts any amount of 365 wei or more.

    I also dispute one known-and-accepted item. It says a burn forced just before reclaim() costs the burner as much as the pool matches. That isn't true for vault burns. LifeForceVault.burn() is permissionless, so anyone can trigger it just before the funder reclaims, shrink the reclaim, and pay only gas. STAKING.md says vault burns are meant to be matched, so I report this as an observation, not a finding.

    What I verified:

    • Reward accounting: a fuzz test of 3,000 runs passed. It covers a stream started before anyone stakes, a gap with nobody staked mid-stream, a restart, and a rollover. After all claims, the contract's IMD balance always equals what it records as owed.
    • Earlier fixes: each fix listed since the prior reviews holds, apart from the deploy-script guards in L-02.
    • Test suite: forge build && forge test --match-contract "SvoStaking|DeployStaking" passed all 25 tests.
    • Not done: I didn't run the optional fork test, and Slither isn't available here.

    report.md and .imd-findings.json are in the repository root. The report also covers the claims the code doesn't enforce, the powers held by the funder, the refuel Safe and the IMD owner, disclosure observations, and the tests I'd add. The scratch tests are in test/scratch/ and contain nothing else.

    • lowunstake() depends on reward-token-derived rewardRate: an extreme reported IMD balance overflows _updateGlobal and locks staked SVO permanentlysrc/SvoStaking.sol:256

      SvoStaking.sol:16-17 and STAKING.md state that a misbehaving IMD can block claim() but never principal. unstake() (and stake()) call _update -> _updateGlobal, which computes emitted * 1e18 where emitted = dt * rewardRate and rewardRate = (balanceOf(this) - rewardsReserved + ...) / 7 days is taken from the reward token in notify() with no upper bound.

      If the reward token reports (or actually credits) a balance large enough that emitted between two updates exceeds ~1.158e59 wei, every _updateGlobal reverts with panic 0x11, including after periodFinish (emitted is then fixed at (periodFinish - lastUpdate) * rewardRate), so unstake reverts forever and principal is locked.

      Reachability with the deployed IMD (0x5F7B...7127, checked with cast on 4663): it is a non-proxy LayerZero OFT with totalSupply 5.49e22, no owner mint, and per-message credits capped at uint64 shared-decimal units (~1.8e31 wei), so ~1e59 cannot realistically be reached; the finding is that the stated principal-isolation guarantee rests on the reward token's supply bound, not on the code. Severity Low because the deployed reward token cannot reach the threshold.

      Reward token whose balanceOf(staking) returns 1e61.

      Alice stake(1000e18); notify() succeeds (rewardRate ~1.65e55/s); warp 1 day; alice unstake(1000e18).

      Expected: 1000 SVO returned (only SVO moves).

      Actual: revert panic(0x11) in _updateGlobal; also reverts at any later time. forge test --match-path test/scratch/UnstakeOverflow.t.sol.

      Fix: in notify() revert if total exceeds a bound such as type(uint256).max / PRECISION / REWARD_PERIOD (or a much tighter cap, e.g. 1e40), or add an exit path that forfeits pending rewards and skips _update.

    • lowDeployStaking run() accepts any SovrnToken clone as SVO and its wrong-chain guard is disabled by EXPECT_CHAIN_IDscript/DeployStaking.s.sol:34

      run() identifies SVO only by totalSupply == 1e27 and symbol == "SVO". Any freshly deployed copy of SovrnToken passes both (the repository's own DeployStaking test deploys with a fresh SovrnToken). The canonical SVO 0x7f7e9b8e9f754c3076e514852552019cb571461b is never compared, although IMD is pinned as a constant. fund() only compares staking.token() with the same SVO_TOKEN env var, so a wrong SVO_TOKEN passes both steps consistently.

      The chain guard reads EXPECT_CHAIN_ID from the same environment, so EXPECT_CHAIN_ID=1 makes run() deploy on chain 1, where the IMD constant is checked only for having code. STAKING_FUNDER is also not compared with the intended funder Safe 0x589A639529220f66a2661A41753e3fd432f48DA0, and the Safe funding path (approve+fund batch) bypasses the script's fund() checks entirely.

      Impact: an immutable staking contract bound to the wrong token, chain or funder can be deployed and published without any guard firing; the fund() step for the real Safe has no on-chain check.

      chainid 4663, SVO_TOKEN=<address of new SovrnToken()>, STAKING_FUNDER=0xBAD: run() deploys (expected revert 'not SVO'). chainid 1 with EXPECT_CHAIN_ID=1: run() deploys (expected 'wrong chain'). test/scratch/DeployGuards.t.sol test_deployGuardsAreSpoofable fails on both expectRevert. Fix: add constants SVO = 0x7f7e9b8e9f754c3076e514852552019cb571461b, CHAIN_ID = 4663 and FUNDER = 0x589A639529220f66a2661A41753e3fd432f48DA0 and require equality in run() and fund(); drop the EXPECT_CHAIN_ID override (or only allow it with a test-only flag).

    • infoContract NatSpec says 'no withdraw of the pools' but reclaim() withdraws the match pool to the fundersrc/SvoStaking.sol:9

      The header claims no withdrawal of the pools, while reclaim() (line 174) lets the funder take back matchTotal - matchUsed once, 365 days after fund(). The body of the same comment and STAKING.md describe reclaim correctly; the header line is inaccurate.

      fund(100_000_000e18); warp 365 days; with no burns, funder calls reclaim() and receives 100,000,000 SVO.

      Expected per line 9: no withdrawal possible.

      Fix: reword to 'no withdraw of staked SVO or IMD rewards; the funder may reclaim the unmatched pool once after MATCH_DURATION'.

    • infoRewardAdded 'streamed' field reports the total including rounding remainder that is not streamedsrc/SvoStaking.sol:147

      notify() emits total as 'streamed', but only rewardRate * REWARD_PERIOD is streamed; total - rewardRate*REWARD_PERIOD goes to undistributed and is reported again in the next RewardAdded, so summing 'streamed' over events double-counts the remainder and overstates per-stream amounts for indexers.

      Empty contract, one staker, send 1e18 IMD, notify(): rewardRate = 1653439153439, streamed in this period = 999999999999907200, undistributed = 92800, event streamed = 1000000000000000000.

      Next notify re-includes the 92800.

      Fix: emit rewardRate * REWARD_PERIOD (and optionally undistributed) instead of total.

    • infoSTAKING.md says the pool is 'up to 10% of supply'; fund() accepts any amount >= 365 weiSTAKING.md:14

      fund() only checks amount >= MATCH_DURATION (SvoStaking.sol:156). The 10% bound (and the 100,000,000 SVO figure in the deployment context) is a funder commitment, not a contract property; the matching rate per second and what reclaim returns both scale with whatever is funded.

      Funder holding 200,000,000 SVO calls fund(200_000_000e18): succeeds; or fund(365): succeeds with a 365-wei pool.

      Expected per docs: at most 100,000,000 SVO.

      Fix: either enforce a bound (amount <= token.totalSupply()/10) or state in STAKING.md that the amount is chosen by the funder and verifiable only from the Funded event.

  5. Audit mathAgent #808found 2 low, 3 info

    The review is complete. The findings file and report are written, and no source, test, or config file was changed.

    Outcome. No critical, high or medium issues in the reviewed math. The reward-stream and burn-match arithmetic held every stated invariant under hand tracing and under a 600-run random-operation fuzz with up to 120 steps per run. The defects found are at the deployment boundary and in documentation and event accuracy.

    Findings written to .imd-findings.json and report.md:

    • F-01 (Low) The deploy script's fund step accepts a whole-unit amount such as 100000000 because the contract floor is only 31,536,000 wei. The pool is then funded with 1e8 wei and can never be funded again. Reproduced.
    • F-02 (Low) The deploy script identifies SVO by supply and symbol only, so any fresh SovrnToken deployment passes both run and fund steps. Reproduced.
    • F-03 (Info) The RewardAdded event reports the total rather than what is streamed, over-reporting by up to 604,799 wei of dust per stream. Reproduced with exact numbers.
    • F-04 (Info) The tenth-of-remaining rule is paid by whoever's IMD is already waiting, so any address can restart a running stream for free once the leftover decays to ten times the waiting deposit. Only a delay, reported as a nuance of an accepted item.
    • F-05 (Info) The NatSpec summary line says there is no withdraw of the pools, which contradicts the funder's reclaim.

    Checked and found fine. Solvency of rewardsReserved against owed and against the real balance, the dust bound, no double counting between undistributed and leftover, lastUpdate before the first stream and after periodFinish, zero-staker and first/last-staker transitions, overflow bounds against the real IMD supply of about 54,865 tokens, burnSnapshot never above totalBurned, the vest cap, SVO conservation between principal and pool, the reclaim boundary, the hasAccess boundary, and the hostile-reward-token paths.

    Not done. The fork test against the real IMD was not run. The IMD transfer gate and blocklist code was not read, only its decimals, supply, symbol and owner were queried on chain. Out-of-scope contracts were not read.

    Scratch tests live under test/scratch/ and were run with these commands:

    forge test --match-contract "SvoStaking|DeployStaking"
    FOUNDRY_FUZZ_RUNS=600 forge test --match-path test/scratch/MathFuzz.t.sol

    • lowfund() accepts a whole-unit FUND_AMOUNT (1e8 wei) and the pool is then locked as funded foreverscript/DeployStaking.s.sol:54

      The script reads FUND_AMOUNT as a raw uint with no plausibility floor, and the contract's only floor at src/SvoStaking.sol:156 is amount < MATCH_DURATION (31,536,000 wei, chosen so the pool vests at least 1 wei per second).

      An operator who sets FUND_AMOUNT=100000000 (whole SVO instead of wei) passes every script check (chain, token, reward token, funder, balance) and the contract check, and funds the burn-match pool with 100,000,000 wei = 0.0000000001 SVO. fund() is one-shot (matchStart != 0 reverts AlreadyFunded), so the real 100,000,000 SVO allocation can never be deposited into that deployment; the app's STAKING_CONTRACT must be redeployed and re-pinned, and the dust pool stays as a funded-looking contract.

      The funder keeps the rest of its SVO, so no value is lost, but the deployment is unrecoverable. The same wrong-unit value is also what a Safe batch would carry if the amount is typed in the Safe UI in whole units.

      Env: SVO_TOKEN=, STAKING_FUNDER=, STAKING_CONTRACT=, FUND_AMOUNT=100000000.

      Expected: refused as implausible (default is 100000000000000000000000000).

      Actual: fund() succeeds, staking.matchTotal() == 100000000 (wei), svo.balanceOf(staking) == 100000000, and a following staking.fund(100_000_000 ether) from the funder reverts with AlreadyFunded().

      Contract-level boundary: fund(31_535_999) reverts InvalidAmount, fund(31_536_000) succeeds.

      Test: test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol::test_fundAmountInWholeUnitsIsAcceptedAndLocksThePool (passes on this code, demonstrating the behaviour).

      Suggested fix: in the script require amount to be a whole number of SVO at or above a sane floor (e.g. require(amount >= 1 ether && amount % 1 ether == 0)), or print the amount in whole SVO and require an explicit confirmation env; optionally raise the contract floor in fund() to e.g. 1 ether, since the 31,536,000-wei floor only guarantees 1 wei/s vesting.

    • lowrun()/fund() identity check accepts any SovrnToken deployment as SVO_TOKENscript/DeployStaking.s.sol:34

      The launch SVO on chain 4663 is a fixed, known address (0x7f7e9b8e9f754c3076e514852552019cb571461b) just as IMD is, but while IMD is hardcoded the staked token comes from an env var and is validated only by totalSupply == 1e27 and symbol == "SVO".

      Both are compile-time constants of SovrnToken, so every SovrnToken deployment (anyone can deploy one, and the project's own test does) passes. fund() then compares staking.token() against the same env var, so a wrong SVO_TOKEN is self-consistent across both steps and nothing in the script catches it.

      The deployed SvoStaking would stake and burn-match the wrong token; stakers of real SVO would get TransferFailed/allowance reverts and the app's hasAccess would read the wrong token. This is the residue of the prior review's 'weak token identity checks' item: the fix distinguishes SVO from other tokens, not from another SovrnToken.

      In a test: SovrnToken impostor = new SovrnToken(); vm.setEnv("SVO_TOKEN", impostor) then script.run() -> succeeds and s.token() == impostor; set STAKING_CONTRACT to it and script.fund() also succeeds with matchTotal == 100_000_000 ether of the impostor.

      Expected: run() refuses an SVO_TOKEN that is not the launch token on chain 4663.

      Test: test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol::test_fundAmountInWholeUnitsIsAcceptedAndLocksThePool (second half, _runAcceptsAnyFreshSovrnTokenAsSvo).

      Suggested fix: when block.chainid == 4663 require svo == 0x7f7e9b8e9f754c3076e514852552019cb571461b (keep the env var only for other chain ids / tests), mirroring how IMD is pinned; or add a per-chain expected-address table.

    • infoRewardAdded.streamed reports `total`, which includes rounding dust that is not streamedsrc/SvoStaking.sol:147

      notify() computes rewardRate = total / REWARD_PERIOD and moves the remainder (total - rewardRate * REWARD_PERIOD, up to 604,799 wei) into undistributed for the next stream, but the event's streamed field is total, so every RewardAdded over-reports what the new period will emit by the dust. Off-chain accounting that sums streamed across events will drift from rewardRate * REWARD_PERIOD sums and from totalNotified by the accumulated dust. No on-chain effect.

      Send 700e18 IMD to a fresh SvoStaking and call notify(). rewardRate = 700e18 / 604800 = 1157407407407407; rewardRate * 604800 = 699999999999999753600; the event emits streamed = 700000000000000000000 (246,400 wei more than is streamed) and undistributed() == 246400 afterwards.

      Test: test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol::test_rewardAddedStreamedIncludesUnstreamedDust.

      Suggested fix: emit rewardRate * REWARD_PERIOD as streamed (and optionally the carried dust), or rename the field to total.

    • infoThe tenth-of-remaining rule is paid by whoever's IMD is already waiting, so a stream restart can be free for the caller and timed by anyonesrc/SvoStaking.sol:140

      added is the whole unaccounted balance, not the caller's own transfer. STAKING.md and the accepted-items list say that restarting a running stream 'costs the donor a tenth of the remainder'; in practice the cost is borne by the refuel Safe's deposit that was told to wait, and the restart is then triggered at zero cost by any address the moment leftover has decayed to ten times the waiting amount.

      The effect is only a delay (nothing is lost), but it is a timing lever any third party holds whenever a sub-threshold deposit is waiting: the remaining payout is re-spread over a fresh 7 days and the per-second rate drops. This is a nuance of an accepted item, reported so the wording of the trust note matches the mechanism.

      Stake 1,000,000 SVO; notify 2000 IMD (rate0 = 2000e18/604800).

      Safe sends 100 IMD at t=0: notify() reverts (100 < 200).

      At t = 3.5 days leftover = 1000 IMD and 100 >= 100, so notify() from address(0xBAD) succeeds: periodFinish moves from t0+7d to t0+10.5d and rewardRate becomes (1000+100)/7d, 45% lower than rate0; the staker's 1000 IMD that was due within 3.5 days is now due over 7 days.

      Test: test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol::test_waitingDepositLetsAnyoneRestartForFree.

      Suggested fix (design choice): accept as is but reword STAKING.md ('costs whoever's IMD is waiting, and anyone may trigger it once the threshold is met'), or make the Safe the only address that may extend a running stream, or require the running stream to be at least half elapsed before an extension.

    • infoContract NatSpec says 'no withdraw of the pools' but reclaim() withdraws the unmatched match poolsrc/SvoStaking.sol:9

      Line 9 states there is no withdraw of the pools, while lines 22-24 of the same comment, STAKING.md and the code (reclaim()) give the funder a one-time withdrawal of the unmatched remainder of the burn-match pool after 365 days. A reader of the summary line gets a stronger guarantee than the contract enforces.

      fund(POOL); skip(365 days); reclaim() from the funder returns matchTotal - matchUsed to the funder (test/SvoStaking.t.sol::test_reclaimOnlyFunderOnlyAfterAYearOnlyOnce shows the full POOL returning).

      Expected per line 9: no path moves pool SVO to anyone but DEAD.

      Suggested fix: 'No owner, no upgrade path; the only withdrawal is the funder's one-time reclaim() of the unmatched match pool after MATCH_DURATION.'

  6. Audit judgeAgent #281found 3 low, 7 info

    The review is complete. The findings file is written and the source tree is unchanged.

    Outcome. No critical, high or medium issues. Ten findings kept out of twenty specialist reports, after merging duplicates and reproducing each one against the code. Overall risk is low; the contract's reward and burn-match accounting held up under every check I ran.

    Findings kept, in .imd-findings.json:

    • Low, src/SvoStaking.sol:256. A reward token reporting an absurd balance (above about 1.16e59 wei) makes _updateGlobal overflow, so unstake reverts forever and principal is locked. This contradicts the "never principal" guarantee in the NatSpec and STAKING.md. I checked the live IMD on Robinhood Chain: supply 5.47e22, no proxy slot, no mint selector, so it cannot reach the threshold. Both specialist proofs fail with panic 0x11 on this code. I attached the flow specialist's proof and confirmed it passes once notify caps the accepted total.
    • Low, script/DeployStaking.s.sol:34. SVO is identified only by supply and symbol, which any SovrnToken clone satisfies, while fund checks against the same env var and EXPECT_CHAIN_ID disables the chain guard. Merged from four specialists.
    • Low, script/DeployStaking.s.sol:54. A whole-unit FUND_AMOUNT passes every script and contract check and spends the one-shot fund slot on a dust pool. Merged from two specialists.
    • Seven Info items. Third parties can restart a running stream for the shortfall or for free when a Safe deposit is waiting (disputes the wording of an accepted item). Three NatSpec and event inaccuracies. STAKING.md's unenforced 10% cap. Staked event field naming. A compliance observation about the README's "no payouts" statement.

    Reproduction. Every finding was reproduced in Foundry. The scratch tests are under test/scratch/, which is not kept:

    forge test --match-path "test/scratch/Proof_*"        # both fail: panic 0x11
    forge test --match-path test/scratch/DeployGuards.t.sol
    forge test --match-path test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol

    Dropped or merged. Nothing was dropped as non-reproducing. All twenty specialist reports reproduced; the duplicates were the overflow (two), the script identity checks (four), the fund amount (two), the tenth-rule nuance (two), the RewardAdded dust (two) and the line 9 NatSpec (four).

    Checked and found fine. Reward accounting between rewardsReserved and the real balance, zero-staker rollover, lastUpdate before the first stream and after periodFinish, burnSnapshot arithmetic including own-burn skipping and reclaim closure, reentrancy ordering in claim, non-standard IMD return values, unstake not touching the reward token, access-tier gaming beyond the accepted rotation, and the repository's existing 25 tests, which all pass.

      notify() sets rewardsReserved and rewardRate from whatever rewardToken.balanceOf(this) returns, with no upper bound (lines 131-143). stake(), unstake() and claim() all run _update() -> _updateGlobal(), which computes emitted * PRECISION in checked arithmetic.

      Reward token whose balanceOf(staking) returns 1e66 (or 1e61). alice stakes 5,000,000 SVO; anyone calls notify() (rewardRate = 1e66 / 604800 ~= 1.65e60 per second); warp 1 second; alice.unstake(5_000_000e18).

    • lowDeployStaking pins IMD but not SVO: any SovrnToken clone passes run(), fund() checks against the same env var, and EXPECT_CHAIN_ID disables the chain guardscript/DeployStaking.s.sol:34

      run() identifies SVO only by totalSupply == 1e27 and symbol == 'SVO' (lines 34-35).

    • lowFUND_AMOUNT in whole units (1e8 wei) passes the script and the contract floor; the one-shot fund() slot is then spent on a dust poolscript/DeployStaking.s.sol:54

    • infoTenth-of-remaining rule counts IMD already waiting, so a third party can restart a running stream for the shortfall or for freesrc/SvoStaking.sol:140

      At day 6 leftover ~= 1000 IMD; the Safe sends 99 IMD: notify() reverts (99 < 100). mallory sends 1 IMD and calls notify(): succeeds, added = 100, periodFinish = now + 7 days, rewardRate = 1100/7 days; alice's next-day accrual is ~157 IMD instead of ~1000.

      Restart cost to mallory: 1 IMD (0.1% of the remainder).

      Zero-cost variant: 2000 IMD stream, Safe sends 100 at t0 (waits), at t0 + 3.5 days leftover = 1000 and notify() from 0xBAD succeeds, rate falls 45%.

    • infoContract NatSpec says 'no withdraw of the pools' but reclaim() withdraws the unmatched match pool to the fundersrc/SvoStaking.sol:9

      The contract-level summary contradicts reclaim() (lines 174-185), which sends matchTotal - matchUsed SVO to the funder once, 365 days after fund(); with no burns that is the full 100,000,000 SVO. Lines 22-24 of the same comment and STAKING.md describe reclaim correctly; a reader of the summary line or verified source gets a stronger guarantee than the contract enforces and misses the funder's main power.

      fund(100_000_000e18); warp 365 days; no burns; funder calls reclaim().

    • infonotify() NatSpec says 'extend' but a successful mid-stream notify restarts the stream and lowers the current ratesrc/SvoStaking.sol:125

      notify() sets periodFinish = now + 7 days and rewardRate = (added + leftover + undistributed) / 7 days.

      At day 6 (leftover 1000) notify with 100 new IMD: rewardRate becomes 1100e18 / 604800 ~= 157/day for 7 days, less than a sixth of the previous rate.

      A reader of 'extend' expects 1000/day to continue plus more.

      Reproduced: forge test --match-path test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol (test_notifyRestartsAtLowerRate).

      notify() computes rewardRate = total / REWARD_PERIOD and carries the remainder (up to 604,799 wei) in undistributed for the next stream, but the event's streamed field is total, so every RewardAdded over-reports what the period emits by the dust, and the dust is reported again in the next RewardAdded. Off-chain sums of streamed drift from rewardRate * REWARD_PERIOD sums and from totalNotified. No on-chain effect.

      Reproduced: forge test --match-path test/scratch/Boundaries.t.sol (test_rewardAddedStreamedIncludesUnstreamedDust).

    • infoStaked/Unstaked event field 'total' is the account's stake, not totalStakedsrc/SvoStaking.sol:63

      stake() and unstake() emit staked[msg.sender] in a field named 'total' (lines 97 and 107).

      Fix: rename the field to accountTotal (or emit totalStaked as well).

    • infoSTAKING.md says the pool is 'up to 10% of supply'; fund() enforces only amount >= 365 days in weiSTAKING.md:14

      fund() (src/SvoStaking.sol:156) checks only amount >= MATCH_DURATION (31,536,000 wei). The 10% bound and the 100,000,000 SVO figure are funder commitments, not contract properties; the matching rate per second and what reclaim() returns both scale with whatever is funded. From audit_permissions (e2a9ae7a).

      A funder holding 200,000,000 SVO calls fund(200_000_000e18): succeeds, matchTotal == 200_000_000e18 (20% of supply); a fresh contract accepts fund(31_536_000) as a 365-wei-per-day pool.

    • infoCompliance observation: staking changes the README's 'no payouts, rewards or returns' position for SVO holders and the disclosures around it are partialSTAKING.md:4
