Build a fully interactive static website that recreates the CrawlScan terminal aesthetic and flow (https://crawlscan.fun/) but themed entirely around Claus Network projects.

CRITICAL: The crawlers must be the Claus octopus — the black octopus character from @contractclaus / claus.si. Do NOT use spiders. The Claus octopus is the clear protagonist that does all the crawling, walking across nodes, and scanning. Make the Claus octopus distinctive, animated, and central to every visual.

Focus only on Claus projects — no arbitrary token addresses.

Core experience:

  • Dark terminal UI matching CrawlScan style: header, input field (project slug or search), “crawl →” button, recently scanned / featured projects list, live streaming log (tail -f style), numbered sections.
  • On “crawl”, animate one or more Claus octopuses (SVG or canvas) crawling across a network of project nodes, lighting up connections, visiting projects, and streaming real steps into the live log. Every visual movement of the Claus octopus should correspond to a scan step.
  • Interactive results: show project name, description, slug, status, links to https://claus.si/c/SLUG and https://claus.si/Home#project=SLUG, any available activity, and a simple “health / activity” style verdict or score derived from public data.
  • Sample / demo mode that works immediately with real or cached public data so the site is usable right away.

Data sources (client-side fetches with credentials:"omit"):

Declare the exact needed public HTTPS origins in claus.json.

Follow the official Claus Network static publishing guide exactly:

  • Include index.html + claus.json (schema claus-project/1, name, description, optional logo/preview SVGs of the Claus octopus, connect array limited to required origins).
  • Self-contained HTML/CSS/JS/SVG only.
  • Stay well under limits (256 files, 1 MB per file, 3 MB snapshot).
  • No forms, cookies, secrets, or undeclared network access.
  • Produce a ready-to-publish site directory + short README with the exact publish command using the local identity file.

The Claus octopus must be the star of the interface — actively crawling the project network, not a generic icon or spider. Deliver via GitHub so the files can be published to Claus.

Implemented the ready-to-publish site in dist/: animated Claus octopus scans, project search, streaming logs, interactive results, and cached demo mode.

Passed build, typecheck, 10 data tests, 14 browser checks, and 16/16 design checks. Submission: 1.44 MB, below 8 MiB.

README.md includes publishing instructions; DESIGN.md and artifacts/validation.md document the design and checks. Live CORS failures use clearly labeled cached data. Publication was not run.

    Not delivered: artifacts/contrast-and-layout.json, artifacts/data-provenance.json, artifacts/interaction-results.json, artifacts/path-budget.json, artifacts/screenshots/cached-context-result-desktop.png, artifacts/screenshots/desktop-1440.png, artifacts/screenshots/keyboard-focus-390.png, artifacts/screenshots/mobile-390.png and 4 more. Saved two medium taste findings in .imd-findings.json:

    • taste: scanned rows hide their activity verdicts. Replace the repeated “✓ scanned” marker with each computed verdict.
    • taste: the main heading names the mascot instead of the task. Use “Crawl Claus projects.” and remove the redundant subtitle.

Each finding includes an exact source snippet, measured reproduction, and concrete change. Site files remain unchanged.

Chromium and WebKit passed the exercised crawl, stop, recovery, and reduced-motion flows. A real live crawl completed with three live sources and an explicitly labeled cached activity feed.

The visual idea is a terminal project explorer led by the black Claus octopus walking logged registry connections.

    • mediumtaste: the scanned list hides every project’s activity verdictsrc/main.ts:105

Now: After a six-project crawl, every result row ends with the same “✓ scanned” marker; the computed activity verdict appears only in the selected project’s detail panel.

Change to: Reuse .row-state to display results.get(p.slug).signal for scanned projects, retaining the existing inspect affordance for unscanned rows. Allow that text to wrap within the row at phone widths instead of clipping it. Keep the detail panel for the underlying evidence.

Why: This is a results tool whose purpose is inspecting public project activity. The review bar requires the answer in the comparison summary first; a completion marker makes visitors open each project to discover the actual result.

At 1440×900, open the production export, click Run demo, wait for “6 scanned · complete”, and scroll to Read the signals.

Inspect the six .project-row elements: all six contain “✓ scanned”; zero contain their computed public activity verdict.

Only the selected detail panel exposes “Recent public activity”.

Comparing the six outcomes requires selecting each row.

Repeat at 390×844: each selection also moves the visitor from the list to the detail panel below it.

Expected: each scanned row exposes its already-computed verdict.

Measured evidence: .project-row count = 6, rows containing “✓ scanned” = 6, rows containing an activity verdict = 0; the selected .signal-heading displays “Recent public activity”.

    • mediumtaste: the scanner’s largest heading is a slogan instead of its taskindex.html:26

Now: The tool leads with “Eight arms. One network.”; its actual purpose, “Explore public Claus Network projects.”, is a smaller second line.

Change to: Replace the h1 contents with “Crawl Claus projects.”, preserving the existing green span and type tokens. Delete the now-redundant paragraph below it and let the launch controls move up by its 21px phone / 24px desktop line height.

Why: The pinned copy bar says tools and dashboards use headings that name the task in plain words and have no voice line. The octopus artwork already conveys the eight-arm identity; the primary heading should identify the scan action.

At 390×844 or 1440×900, load the production export at the top without interacting.

      The h1 reads “Eight arms.

One network.” at 32px on phone / 48px on desktop; the task description is only 14px / 16px.

Expected: the largest heading names the Claus project crawl.

Evidence: taste@1 type-sizes output and test/scratch/taste/shots/390.png and 1440.png show the same hierarchy.

This is a copy finding, not a first-screen failure: the crawl button ends at y=341.59 and the octopus at y=792.75 in the 844px phone viewport.
