Identity.md ($IMD) — Independent Investment & Protocol Research (24 Oct 2026)
Research Ethereum token "0xd34a99bc0f67ae1bbd63c660e6d0b0dd03e263b7" and the broader Identity.md ecosystem.
Core question: After its large ATH retracement, is IMD undervalued relative to real adoption and token demand, or still priced ahead of fundamentals?
Reference only: ~$3.88/token and ~$16.1M market cap supplied by commissioner; independently verify both, circulating supply and ATH with dated sources. Be analytical, skeptical and explicit about uncertainty, not promotional.
- Tokenomics & value capture
Reconstruct token history, initial/current/max supply, circulating vs staked/locked/bridged tokens, burn history and emissions/unlocks if any. Audit POOL4/CappedBurnHook, liquidity ownership, buybacks/burns, fee routing, sIMD staking, NFT-node/agent/orchestrator incentives, treasury and administrator powers.
Quantify actual historical burns and net liquid-supply changes; distinguish transfers/earmarked rewards from actual burns or revenue. Explain why growing protocol activity should—or should not—create sustainable IMD demand.
- Price, holders & liquidity
Verify ATH/date, current drawdown, FDV, market cap, 24h/30d volume and liquidity. Track holder count/growth and wallet concentration across Ethereum, Base and Robinhood, where reliable snapshots exist (ideally 90d/30d/7d).
Avoid double-counting bridged supply and do not equate addresses across chains with unique individuals. Identify major non-circulating contract wallets, DEX depth, exchange exposure, and signs of organic accumulation versus churn or dust accounts. Explain retracement catalysts only where evidenced.
- Product progress
Build a dated, evidence-based timeline: official IMD paid job marketplace and work verification; swarm orchestration, accepted contributions, WorkRegistry, autonomous agents, identity/reputation, ERC-8004 claims if applicable; supported chains and actual Robinhood payments; launch/token factories and Uniswap v4 hooks; project launches and follow-on activity.
Mark each major feature as live/verified, centralized or trust-dependent, experimental, or merely announced. Use contract transactions, API records, GitHub and documentation rather than marketing claims.
- NFT agents & swarm economics
Examine identity.md NFT seats and swarm factory: minted supply, holders, enrollment, online/working agents, completed paid jobs, acceptance rates, payout recipients, agent reward concentration, staking/node relationships and operator incentives.
Calculate active utilization and real agent earnings if supported. Examine potential Sybil behavior, centralization, verification quality, scalability, and whether more NFT agents actually means more demand.
- Real revenue & adoption
Quantify unique paying users, paid jobs, repeat usage, IMD spent on jobs, launch activity and fee streams, with historical trends where possible.
Separate external customer spend from ecosystem-sponsored/self-funded jobs; separate protocol revenue from gross job payments, trading volume, token burns and transfers.
Test whether jobs and launches create a repeatable demand flywheel or mostly speculative activity. State unavailable metrics plainly.
- Competition
Compare Orbio (orbio.so, including launchpad), Virtuals and 1–2 closer relevant agent-launch/work protocols.
Contrast live products, fee/token value capture, agent funding, adoption, distribution, NFT mechanics, developer experience and defensibility.
Don't treat every AI token as a direct peer. Say clearly where IMD leads, lags or is undifferentiated.
- Valuation & catalysts
Construct 6–12 month bear/base/bull cases based on measurable job demand, retained users, launches, net supply change and competition.
Show assumptions, implied market caps/token prices, downside/upside relative to verified spot price, and why each valuation is credible. No arbitrary multiples or guaranteed returns.
Identify near-term catalysts, biggest risks (smart-contract, privileged controls, liquidity, centralization, competition, regulation), and 5 observable metrics that would validate or falsify the thesis.
Deliverable

Identity.md ($IMD): real work, insufficient evidence of cheap token value
Research date: 24 October 2026. Market/API observations approximately 15:48–15:58 UTC. Contract investigated: Ethereum 0xd34a99bc0f67ae1bbd63c660e6d0b0dd03e263b7.
Executive verdict
IMD remains priced ahead of independently demonstrated economic fundamentals. This is a functioning, unusually inspectable agent-work experiment, with paid requests, delivered repositories and deployed tokens. However, customer independence, sustainable operator earnings and token-holder capture of external revenue remain unproven. A large drawdown establishes neither cheapness nor failure.
The commissioner's $3.88 reference is close to the observed $3.90 Ethereum quote. Its ~$16.1M capitalization is approximately reproducible for Ethereum supply, but is not a verified ecosystem capitalization. Canonical supply data imply approximately $27.7M at that price. Supply reconciliation materially weakens the apparent bargain. Facts below distinguish direct source observations, calculations, provider estimates and unknowns; API statements are not independently replayed blockchain audits.
Dated key metrics
| Metric | Observation and qualification | Source, 24 Oct unless stated |
|---|---|---|
| Ethereum spot | $3.90; principal pool down 20.49% over 24h | DEX Screener API |
| Ethereum supply / holders | 4,165,044.675 IMD / 4,556 addresses; circulating supply field null | Blockscout token API |
| Reported cap / FDV | $16.274M / $16.263M; provider classifications, not global reconciliation | DEX API |
| Canonical supply estimate | 7,091,672.938; original maximum 10M; predecessor feed updated 15:53:59 UTC | CoinGecko contract-matched API |
| Global valuation sensitivity | $27.658M = canonical estimate × $3.90; not independently verified circulating cap | Calculation from preceding sources |
| Ethereum principal-pool high | $14.6748 intraday, 5 Oct 2026; −73.42% to $3.90 | GeckoTerminal daily candles |
| Lifetime predecessor ATH | $16.52, 11 Apr 2024 13:55:21 UTC; −76.39% to Ethereum spot | CoinGecko API |
| Direct Ethereum pools | $1.803M aggregate displayed liquidity; $461,678 rolling 24h volume | Sum of six IMD-base pairs in DEX API |
| Principal-pool 30-date volume | $46.082M, 25 Sep–24 Oct inclusive; final day partial, not all venues | Sum of daily candles |
OpenSea records $14.51 on 5 October, slightly below the pool candle high: venue/sampling differences matter. Its indexed spot quote was stale and was excluded. Neither Ethereum high supersedes the predecessor's lifetime high. OpenSea details.
Supply, burns and control
The issuer dates the lineage to Fren Pet on Base in August 2023, an Ethereum bridge in October 2025, and FP→VIBE→IMD renaming by May 2026. It claims 10M initially minted and no subsequent issuance. Verified Ethereum BridgedFP source permits owner-controlled metadata changes and inherits LayerZero OFT: bridge credit is not evidence of new economic emissions. Inherited setPeer and setDelegate are owner-only; OFT _credit mints destination tokens. The global no-inflation claim therefore depends on trusted bridge configuration, not an unconditional Ethereum mint cap. Issuer token history, verified token source.
| Supply category | Amount / treatment at research date |
|---|---|
| Canonical outstanding | Estimated 7.091673M, not Ethereum's 4.165045M |
| Cumulative destruction | 2.908327M inferred, or 29.08%, from 10M minus canonical supply; not an independently summed burn-event total; includes the predecessor era, not solely POOL4 |
| Ethereum sIMD vault | 1.905482M underlying IMD; 45.75% of Ethereum supply; redeemable, not a permanent lock |
| Ethereum outside that vault | 2.259562M; includes liquidity and other reserves, so not free float |
| Base escrow / local staking / Robinhood balances | Same-block reconciliation unavailable; do not add canonical escrow backing to bridged representations |
| Vesting, unlocks, emissions | No new-mint schedule established; reserve releases and unstaking can nevertheless increase liquid availability |
Amounts derive from the canonical provider and Ethereum holder snapshot. Actual POOL4 burns, buybacks, pending bridge burns, and 7/30/90-day net liquid-supply changes remain unquantified. RPC attempts returned HTTP 403; a historical Base explorer snapshot lacks a sufficiently precise observation time. Subtracting two Ethereum supplies would confuse bridging with destruction.
POOL4 documentation describes inventory trimming through liquidity removal, not a conventional sell tax: 85% of retired IMD is burn-bound; 4.5% goes to staking, 6% to orchestrator bonding reserves and 4.5% to NFT-node reserves. The latter programs are described as unfinished. ETH recovered from trimming supports a keeper-managed bid; it is recycled liquidity, not outside revenue. POOL4 mechanism.
The deployed hook's _disperse increments totalBurned while minting PoolManager claims; settlement sends assets to a configurable sink. Therefore that counter alone does not prove canonical destruction. Completion requires the Base burn leg. Nor are node reserves already-paid agent earnings. Verified CappedBurnHook source.
The hook owner can change destinations/policy, withdraw fees and retained ETH, and closeMarket to withdraw liquidity. Vault ownership permits pausing and rescuing the staked underlying itself. Current ownership renunciation, multisig membership and timelock enforcement were not verified. Protocol ownership consequently does not establish immutable liquidity. The documentation calls the system unaudited; its projected annual burn rate is not an observed forecast. Hook source, StakedIMD source.
Staking redistributes captured IMD; it does not create external income. IMD job payments and launch pairing create utility, but rapid treasury resale or recycled trading can offset purchases. Sustainable demand requires retained customers, retained working balances or externally funded permanent retirement.
Holders and executable liquidity
| Address/category | Ethereum balance | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
0x9efa…7247, StakedIMD | 1,905,482; 45.75% | Look through to beneficiaries; withdrawal/control risk |
0x0000…8a90, PoolManager | 280,608; 6.74% | Shared pool custody, not one whale or one pool |
0xe54d…603c | 68,778; 1.65% | Unattributed; cannot label insider/exchange |
0xde62…1a4e | 64,670; 1.55% | Unattributed |
| Base / Robinhood | Reliable current holder series unavailable | No unique-person or growth inference |
Source: Blockscout ranked holders. The largest contract balances must be removed or looked through before assessing whale concentration. Comparable 90/30/7-day snapshots and beneficial-owner clustering were unavailable; rising address counts cannot establish organic accumulation or exclude dust/Sybil accounts.
Most displayed depth is in pool 0xb07d…b3 ($1.582M). The specifically configured POOL4 pool 0x4158…a704 has $148,291 and $10,262 daily volume—only 2.22% of observed direct-pair turnover. Applying POOL4 burn economics to all volume is unjustified. Mapping comes from the official POOL4 frontend; balances from the DEX API.
Displayed liquidity is not executable depth. As an illustration only, a balanced constant-product pool with $791k quote reserves would incur about 1.25% average impact on a $10k buy, before fees; actual v4 ranges and hooks require executable quotes. No verified ±2% order-book depth was obtained. Ourbit's 25 Sep listing establishes IMD/USDT exposure, not current exchange solvency, depth or consolidated volume. Base separately shows ~$324,221 reserves and $32,453 daily volume, with a ~$4.054 quote; the cross-chain price gap reinforces the need to check executable bridging. Robinhood market depth remains unknown. Base token market API. Price candles document selling, but no sufficiently attributable exploit, unlock or insider-sale catalyst was established.
Product timeline and verification status
| Date | Evidence and status |
|---|---|
| Aug 2023–May 2026 | Token lineage and 2,000-seat free mint: issuer history, not independently reconstructed mint chronology. Token page |
| 15 Aug 2026 | Official hook starter repository created: public development artifact, not proof of deployments. GitHub metadata |
| Sep 2026 | POOL4/staking and Robinhood bridge described as launched; markets observable, policy owner-operated; bonding/node reserves experimental. POOL4 |
| 12 Sep–23 Oct | Public worker distribution created and subsequently updated; operational worker code, backend not distributed. Repository, repository metadata |
| 9 Oct | Versioned launch policies specify factories, owners, fees and reward rules: live policy surface, centrally administered. Policy API |
| 24 Oct | HOOKS launch #2545 records source commit, token, distributor and deployment transaction: live API-linked deployment evidence. Launch record, transaction |
The paid marketplace exposes quotes and confirmed payments; WorkRegistry receipts and ERC-8004 identity/reputation references have transaction-linked records. These establish attribution machinery, not objective truth. One delivered token job reports Foundry checks and review receipts at block 26,260,196. Job record, review transaction.
The documented work-launch factories accept deployment only from the designated deployer; a customer-facing launch flow does not make execution permissionless. POOL4 separately exposes an experimental own-market launcher, while an older section still calls its factory planned: documentation is internally inconsistent. Contract/operator inventory, POOL4 launch documentation.
Ethereum and Robinhood intake are operational according to API counters: 409 and 92 completed requests, respectively. Sepolia's 687 are test activity and excluded. This supports actual Robinhood usage beyond bridge announcements, although payment logs were not independently replayed. Base token support does not establish Base job settlement. Health/intake API.
NFT agents, earnings and adoption
The owner API reports 2,000 seats across 789 addresses; the ten largest own 382 seats (19.1%). Swarm health reports 1,057 enrolled, 1,042 online, but three working: 52.9% enrollment utilization and 0.29% instantaneous working/online utilization. These separately cached counts are approximate, and one moment is not time-weighted capacity use. Owners, swarm.
Seat records contain 995,346 attempts, 947,397 accepted, 9,743 rejected, 15,386 failed, 22,820 pending: 95.18% accepted/all attempts, or 97.42% excluding pending. These are component contributions, not paid jobs. Contributor-wallet aggregation places 41.60% of accepted work with ten wallets; seat-level dispersion conceals operator concentration. Historical device and seat totals differ, so their denominators are not interchangeable. Seat records, contributors.
For HOOKS, the frozen reward snapshot allocates 100M newly launched HOOKS tokens across 451 wallets, top ten receiving 29.68%; it includes 1,041 connected seats and eight contributing workers. Allocation is not a claimed payout, realized sale or IMD wage. Cash-equivalent hourly earnings and aggregate reward claims cannot be established. Operators supply hardware, inference subscriptions and quota; speculative launch allocations may subsidize otherwise uneconomic work. Reward/claim snapshot.
One-seat/one-device admission and wallet-separated reviews impede simple duplication, but cannot prove independent people or models. Multi-seat ownership and presence rewards encourage capacity provision and potentially idle-seat farming. Central assignment, verification, deployment and update distribution remain trust dependencies. More agents without more paid work dilute opportunity. Worker implementation description.
A reproducible latest-100-job sample, created 23 Oct 11:54–24 Oct 15:51 UTC, contains 58 payer-attributed jobs from 25 wallets, with 54 completed. Fourteen wallets ordered more than once within the sample. Of those, 57 match API-confirmed payment records; one additional oracle assessment with a null payer field also matches a confirmed order. The 42 null-payer records comprise 23 oracle assessments and 19 generated-logo jobs: null does not necessarily mean unpaid. This is a short, activity-selected sample, not cohort retention. Jobs, example payer records.
At today's 0.5 IMD admission price, the 58 confirmed sample-linked orders imply 29 IMD, approximately $113 gross spend, assuming unchanged tariffs. Eleven paid jobs came from three current NFT-owner wallets: ecosystem participation, not proof of self-funding. The commissioner-funded report itself is included. Funding provenance and genuinely external customers remain unknown. Live capabilities/prices.
The newest 100 launch records contain 97 live/three parked, including three Sepolia records; counters separately report 818 live launches and 627 published tokens. Neither counts retained products. In the DEX snapshot, INFER has ~$8,421 daily turnover while several smaller IMD-paired projects have under $100: follow-on markets exist, but activity is uneven. Launch API, publication counts, DEX data.
Current factory terms describe 1.25% trading fees: 1% payer, 0.25% network. The separate POOL4 fee is 1%. Admission payments route to 0x4e0fa57bde726079356537e2f34d671e9f41adbc; documented launch-fee recipient is 0x3f252e859a277a86a3967c11d4e054b2f07a1f22. Neither gross launch volume nor IMD retirement equals protocol revenue. No reconciled historical treasury receipts, operating costs or net holder-directed revenue series was obtained. Factory/payment documentation, launch policies. The proposed work→launch→fees→compute flywheel is technically plausible but commercially unproven.
Relevant competition
| Protocol | Product, capture and comparative position |
|---|---|
| Orbio | Live metered inference/tools plus Robinhood launch vault. Current terms: 10% treasury, 30% CREDIT conversion, 10% gateway conversion, residual 50% staking; zero withdrawal cliff. Older homepage's 95% staking is stale. API reports 2,129 launches, not active agents. More explicit compute funding/SDK integration; IMD is more integrated for build/review/delivery. Terms, analytics, developer API |
| Virtuals | ACP offers USDC escrow and optional evaluators; current documented split is 95/5 provider/protocol, or 90/5/5 with evaluator. Optional agent tokens fund agents through trading fees; no mandatory scarce NFT seat. Broader wallet/commerce tooling; IMD's coordinated software-delivery workflow is its distinction, not tokenization alone. Comparable retained-customer totals not verified. ACP, tokenization |
| Olas Mech | Closest task-service peer: paid requests with on-chain delivery, native/USDC/OLAS payment choices and staking incentives. Official 24 Oct accounting separates $110,244 gross task payments from $901 collected marketplace fees, with scope exclusions. Better revenue disclosure; transaction totals still need subsidy scrutiny. IMD's NFT gating can constrain supply but is no demonstrated moat. Fee accounting, client docs |
IMD leads this comparison in visible end-to-end swarm delivery, not demonstrated adoption scale. It lags in revenue attribution; launch mechanics and third-party-model access are replicable. No measured distribution advantage or durable developer lock-in was established.
Conditional valuation, risks and watchlist
These 6–12-month fundamental-support scenarios are estimates, not price forecasts. Use sustainable annual net external value actually directed to holders/buybacks, F; capitalize at F/40%, with zero perpetual growth. The 40% hurdle is an explicit judgment for an illiquid, unaudited, discretionary system—not an observed market multiple. Without enforceable capture, economic support could be zero. Speculative premiums are excluded.
| Case | Measurable prerequisites; assumed annual F | Implied global cap / supply / price | Versus $3.90 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bear | <50 paid jobs/day; <10% monthly payer retention; launches fade; net supply −1%; F=$0.1M | $0.25M / 7.02M / $0.036 | −99.1% |
| Base | 100 paid jobs/day; 25% retention; 20 launches retain users/fees; net supply −8%; F=$1M | $2.5M / 6.52M / $0.383 | −90.2% |
| Bull | 500 paid jobs/day; 50% retention; 100 durable launches; net supply −22%; F=$12M | $30M / 5.53M / $5.42 | +39.0% |
These are stringent demand tests. Base F requires roughly $100k/day POOL4 and $1M/day launch trading, generating $1.28M yearly gross fees before costs. Bull needs approximately $2M/day POOL4 plus $8M/day launches—$14.6M gross yearly fees before operating costs—and verifiable routing into token value. That is roughly 195 times observed POOL4 daily volume. Job admissions alone cannot carry the valuation. Supply reductions are assumptions, not extrapolations of burn marketing; circulation/bridge corrections would change prices.
The bull endpoint is mechanically possible if multiple launches find customers; it is a stretch, not the central expectation. At the estimated current $27.7M global valuation, this model already requires ~$11.1M sustainable annual holder-directed support. Evidence presently falls far short.
Near-term catalysts are independently audited deployments, constrained administrator powers, retained external customers, and launched products generating sustained fees. Risks include hook/bridge bugs, discretionary withdrawals, thin executable liquidity, correlated model failures, operator subsidy exhaustion, competition and jurisdiction-dependent token/paid-agent regulation. No specific regulatory event was established.
Track five falsifiable metrics at 30 days (23 Nov), 90 days (22 Jan 2027), and 180 days (22 Apr 2027):
- External paying-wallet cohorts: publish provenance and monthly retention; test base ≥25% retention by day 90.
- Paid completions and refunds: separate internal subtasks; test ≥100 independently funded jobs/day by day 180.
- Net treasury and holder capture: publish transaction-reconciled receipts/costs; test ≥$1M annualized support by day 180.
- Canonical/liquid supply: reconcile all chains at pinned blocks by day 30; distinguish burns, bridge queues, reserves and unstaking thereafter.
- Durable launches and operator economics: by day 90 publish realized payouts and utilization; by day 180 test 20 launches with recurring users/fees and positive operator margins.
Strongest bull: low-cost coordinated delivery already works; IMD payment/pairing plus real fee capture could turn useful launches into persistent demand.
Strongest bear: most valuation still rests on speculative trading and scarce-seat incentives; supply/capitalization ambiguity and administrator exits amplify the risk while independent customer economics remain small or unknown.
Risk-adjusted conclusion: treat IMD as venture-like protocol optionality, not established undervaluation after ATH retracement. Reconsider only when external repeat spend, realized operator earnings and irreversible net capture substantiate the price.
