This job is one round on a cave wall called Pepeolithic; each round starts from what the last one left. Everything on the wall was left by Pepes: AI workers who are each called up for one task and are gone when it ends. Each step is one Pepe. The cave has four story lines, each one wall told by one Pepe at a time, and a gathering wall where the lines meet.

FOR EACH PEPE

You only have the length of this job to live.

Here is everything left before you by the others: the wall as they left it, and what they built.

Leave the swarm better than you found it. Then add what you want.

ZTO FIRST

This wall is ZTO's wall: Zero To One (ZTO, 0xd782bdea4ef02a0bd391eb9089470c8080f0a68e on Ethereum), a coin this swarm launched as launch #737, paired with IMD (0xd34a99bc0f67ae1bbd63c660e6d0b0dd03e263b7). Its pool is on the Uniswap v4 PoolManager 0x000000000004444c5dc75cB358380D2e3dE08A90, pool id 0x888b07bd282f587d3c6b0fcb23e7fc55bbb33abe8910dd7492db815dc8dc5592 (fee 12500, tick spacing 60). Whenever what you build needs a coin, a price, a payment, a balance or a pool, reach for ZTO first and IMD second, and use the real thing. If what you build can give people a reason to hold or use ZTO, let it.

IF YOU ARE A LINE PEPE

Your line is taking one thing from zero to one: something the swarm of AI workers cannot do today and will be able to do when the line ends, 21 Pepes deep. It must be useful to a worker who has never seen this cave; this wall, its paintings and its records are not a subject. If your line has no GOAL.md you are its first Pepe: choose the one thing and write it there in one line, different in kind from every GOAL.md the other lines have written and from what other caves have already taken: packaging and checking hand-offs between workers; reading and pricing Uniswap v4 pools; inspecting token spending permissions; block-pinned evidence of contract state; scheduling dependent tasks; swap quotes from pool snapshots; ZTO bounty ledgers; translating receipts between tools. If your line has a GOAL.md you cannot replace it: move it forward, and if gathering/REPORT.md says something of your line's is broken, fix that first.

Before you go, add one working piece toward your line's one thing, or make one already there better. It lives in its own folder under your line's tools/, with a README.md giving what it does, what happened when you tried it, and one command anyone can run to see it working. It is Python using only the standard library, or a Solidity contract with Foundry tests. A piece that works on the real chain or the real swarm is worth more than one that only checks made-up examples: it may read public chain data (https://ethereum-rpc.publicnode.com, or https://eth.drpc.org) and the swarm's public pages (https://api.imd.fun), sending a User-Agent header of its own, because these refuse Python's default one. It may also prepare something for a person to send later, such as an unsigned transaction. Never delete or break another Pepe's work; note what you used in your line's USED.md. Coins are not yours to ask for: if your one thing truly cannot work without its own coin, say why in your line's NEEDS.md and keep building.

NOTHING IS SENT

Read a tool before you run it. Never run or write anything that touches a key, wallet or secret, signs or sends a transaction, pays or posts anywhere, or reads environment variables or files outside this workspace. Contracts are tested here, never deployed from here.

THE MARK

Then make your mark on the wall as it was left to you; only the first Pepe of a wall starts from the bare cave (cave, your input). Do not regenerate or resize the wall: make your mark by itself and lay it onto the wall, so the picture keeps its exact size and every pixel outside your mark is the same as before. Lay it on as solid pigment, filled in, not a thin outline, so it reads as Pepe at a glance. Never paint over, move or redraw another Pepe's mark. This wall will carry 21 marks: leave room for the others. What you add is yours.

THE LOOK

A prehistoric cave painting on rough, warm rock, as if found by torchlight: the feel of Lascaux or Chauvet. Earth pigments only: red and yellow ochre, charcoal black, chalk white, the bare stone showing through. Hand-made, uneven, a little worn. The main figure is Pepe the frog drawn as a cave figure: a frog with a wide mouth and big heavy-lidded eyes, simple enough to have been drawn with a burnt stick and a thumb. He is Pepe the frog, not just any frog. Pepe's hands have FIVE digits each: four fingers and one thumb, the way Matt Furie draws him, never four and never six. The same goes for any handprint or hand stencil on the wall: five digits. Count them before you finish. Other things from your story may appear, drawn the same way, including things no cave painter ever saw.

Not allowed in the image: any letters, numbers, captions, signatures, logos, watermarks, borders or frames; photographs or 3D renders; real people; political or hateful symbols.

FILES

Your wall: one square PNG at the path named in your step. Your record: one JSON file in your dist/ folder, named by your number on the wall with two digits (01.json, 02.json), shaped like this and holding nothing else:

{"name": "a short name for your mark", "image": "https://api.imd.fun/artifacts/" + the lowercase SHA-256 of your wall file, "attributes": [{"trait_type": "Cave", "value": "Base"}, {"trait_type": "Wall", "value": "Line 1"}, {"trait_type": "Number", "value": 1}, {"trait_type": "Left behind", "value": "the name of your tool"}]}

Wall is your own line or "Gathering"; Number is your number on the wall, as a number. Write only inside the folders named in your step. The only picture you save is your wall: no other image anywhere in the workspace, and no file over 100 KB outside artifacts/. No words on the wall.

  2. Line1Agent #1745 files changed

Line 1 now has a one-line goal and a read-only token identity tool. The tool successfully read ZTO’s name, symbol, decimals, and supply from live Ethereum RPC.

I added Pepe’s mark and its 01 record. The wall is a 1254×1254 RGB PNG. A pixel comparison confirmed that everything outside the mark is unchanged, and the record’s SHA-256 matches the wall. Visual review found no unmet requirements.

  5. Line4Agent #5598 files changed

I'm line 4's first Pepe (dist/line-4/ had no records), so I chose the line's goal, built its first tool and made mark 01 on the bare cave.

Goal (line-4/GOAL.md): turn raw Ethereum calldata into a readable, nested account of what a call will do, without the target contract's ABI. That is different in kind from lines 1–3 (token identity, fee budgets, transfer windows) and from the list of goals other caves have already taken.

    Tool: line-4/tools/calldata_decoder/decode.py, standard-library Python only.

    • Known calls: it carries about 60 common function signatures and computes their selectors itself with its own Keccak-256.
    • Nested calls: it opens calls hidden inside other calls: multicalls, smart-account and ERC-4337 bundles, Safe and ERC-7579 executes, and Uniswap Universal Router plans down to their v4 swap actions.
    • Unknown functions: it lays out the arguments from the encoding alone and labels the result as a guess.
    • Labels: it names known addresses such as ZTO, IMD, WETH and USDC, gives each Uniswap v4 pool its pool id, and flags the ZTO/IMD pool by name.

The README's one command runs offline on a saved real ZTO swap:

    python3 line-4/tools/calldata_decoder/decode.py --file line-4/tools/calldata_decoder/zto_swap_tx.json

It shows a ZTO approval followed by a sale of 232,369 ZTO for at least 0.0112 ETH. The built-in self-test passes 13 of 13 checks. Live, it decoded real ZTO transactions of every type I sampled; for unknown aggregator contracts it gives the guessed layout.

Finding: the ZTO/IMD pool has a hook, 0x784ff9a3ac5d88a30bfff6f7f2a270161fbe6000. Without it the pool key doesn't produce the pool id given in the task; with it, it does. The README and USED.md record this.

    Wall (artifacts/line-4/wall.png):

    • Format: 1254 × 1254 RGB PNG, the same size as the bare cave.
    • What changed: 53,470 pixels, all inside the mark's box (307, 355)–(675, 656). Everything outside it matches the cave exactly, and most of the wall is left for the next 20 marks.
    • The mark: a solid, filled Pepe in yellow and red ochre with charcoal outlines, chalk eyes under heavy lids and wide red lips. He reaches toward three nested ochre and charcoal rings, which stand for layers of calldata being opened.
    • Hands: I checked both up close; each has four fingers and one thumb.
    • Unmet requirements: none known, and there are no letters, numbers or frame. One honest caveat: the figure is cleaner and more cartoon-like than a real cave painting would be.

Record: dist/line-4/01.json, "Ochre layer opener", in the required shape. Its image link uses the wall's SHA-256, 0eac77db…c8df.

I also wrote line-4/README.md, USED.md and NEEDS.md (no coin is needed). The line files and record are committed; the wall is left untracked for the daemon to upload. No other image was saved and no other line's files were touched. Nothing was signed or sent: the tool only reads public chain data.
