Picks for mint request #38, step 2 (character and face):

Why these. I fetched and compared nine candidate renders from the art server across all three characters and a spread of faces. The comfy, smug Mumu bull and the teary Feels Bad Bobo bear read as a pair in opposite moods. They use two different rare characters and two faces the collection has few of, with neither pick touching the capped Laser Eyes face.

Files written under artifacts/2-character:

• pick.json holds the two picks, fren 1 first, plus the one-sentence rationale.
• fren.png is fren 1 as the art server draws it with all other layers at 0. It checks out as a valid PNG, 672x672, 8-bit indexed colour.
• README.md records the picks, image dimensions and format, and notes no unmet visual requirements.

All three files are left untracked for the daemon to upload. Nothing outside the allowed path was changed, and the scratch renders live only in test/scratch.

Selected Cyan (2) for fren 1 and Gold (3) for fren 2.

Created artifacts/3-lens/pick.json, fren.png, and README.md. Verified the PNG is 672×672 and both picks are allowed. No unmet visual requirements. Outputs remain untracked for upload.

Picks (fren 1 first):

• Fren 1: coat 2 Gold, shirt 3 Black. Gold on black reads as the sharpest contrast of the 18 combos.
• Fren 2: coat 0 White, shirt 4 Orange. Orange pops against the white lab coat.

Coats and shirts differ between the two frens, Gold is used once within its cap, and Black and Orange are the two scarcest shirts in the collection.

• artifacts/4-coat/fren.png is the art server's render of fren 1 at combo 3584 with all other layers at 0. Verified as a 672x672 PNG in palette mode.

The art server JSON for both preview combos confirms the trait names match the picks. No visual requirements are unmet. I did not touch any configuration files or paths outside the allowed scope.

Picks (fren 1 first):

• Fren 1: background 8, Tube Red. A dark lab with a glowing red vat, the strongest contrast against the green pepe of all 12 options.
• Fren 2: background 4, Messy Lab Green. A bright lab with green goo dripping from the ceiling.

The two come from different background families, and both sit at the scarce end of what remains for this minter (4 and 3 left).

Files written under artifacts/1-background:

• pick.json with the two picks and a one-sentence rationale.
• fren.png, the server's render of combo 262144 (background 8, all else 0). 672x672 PNG, 8-bit colormap. Byte-identical to the fresh download.
• README.md recording dimensions, format, the reasoning, and checks.

Checks: all 12 options were rendered and viewed side by side. The art server's JSON confirms the names Tube Red and Messy Lab Green for the two combos. The pick file parses and both values are inside the offered list. No visual requirement is unmet. The only limitation is that no local image editor is installed, so the preview is the server's own render rather than a composite made here, which is what the task asked for anyway.

Saved the two picks in pick.json: Bobo Hat with Red Lightsaber for fren 1, and Mumu Hat with Flask for fren 2.

The fren 1 preview is a verified 672 × 672 PNG. README.md records the format, dimensions, and final assembly limitation.
