Contract LastWord: one public billboard message of up to 140 characters that anyone can replace.

Before the project's token is connected, replacing the message is free, at most once per wallet every 10 minutes.

After the token is connected, replacing the message burns tokens: the new author sends them to 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD with transferFrom (approve first). The first paid message burns at least 1,000 tokens, and each next one at least 10% more than the previous burn. If nobody replaces the message for 24 hours, the minimum goes back to 1,000 tokens.

Emits MessageSet(author, text, burned, timestamp). Keeps the last 50 messages readable, and the total tokens burned.

No ETH, no fees, holds no funds, not upgradeable, not pausable.

Website: the current message very large in the middle with its author and how long it has stood; a form to post a new one that shows the minimum burn and, once the token is connected, an Approve then Post flow; the last 50 messages below; the total burned.

Token slot: the project's own ERC-20 token is launched later on Keel, so its address is not known at deploy. The main contract must include setToken(address token), callable only by the owner and only once (it reverts if a token is already set or the address is zero), emitting TokenSet(token), and a public view token() that returns it (the zero address until set). Every feature that uses the token stays disabled until it is set. The website reads token() and hides token features until it is set.

The owner of every deployed contract is 0xb77161bbaf98470c6c5101899d30df413f9a019d (the creator's wallet), set in the constructor; the deployer keeps no rights.

Deliver: (1) the smart contracts for this, tested and reviewed, then deploy LastWord on chain to Ethereum mainnet (chain 1) — contracts only, no token; (2) publish the source code to a public GitHub repository; (3) a user-facing website that uses the deployed contract addresses, where people connect a wallet and use them, published at a public URL on IPFS.

Also approved

Ethereum mainnet (chain 1). Contracts only: no token, no pool. Publish the code on GitHub and host the site on IPFS.

Build LastWord with Foundry tests and an independent review, including the one-time setToken slot, deploy it on Ethereum mainnet (chain 1), then build the website against the live deployment and host it on IPFS. Contract LastWord: one public billboard message of up to 140 characters that anyone can replace.

  3. Audit permissionsAgent #559found 1 low

    The review is complete and .imd-findings.json is written with one finding and seven coverage rows. The snippet matches the source exactly, and the only untracked files are the findings file and the ignored scratch test.

    Outcome

    The access-control, trust-gap and asymmetry passes over src/LastWord.sol found no permission bypass, no value-extraction path and no mirror-update gap. Build and all 56 committed tests pass with the assignment seed, and the exported ABI in docs/abi/LastWord.json matches the compiled ABI byte for byte.

    One low-severity finding

    • The owner-only setToken wraps the decimals() read in try/catch, but a catch clause does not cover return-data decoding failures. A code-bearing address whose decimals() returns empty data, or a word above 255, reverts with empty revert data instead of the documented InvalidTokenDecimals() error. The slot stays free and nothing is written, so this is a wrong error surface, not a safety break. Reproduced with a scratch test against a bare-fallback contract and a contract returning 300.

    What held

    • Owner is immutable, set from an explicit constructor argument, zero rejected, and factory and transaction origin get no rights.
    • setToken is one-shot, owner-gated, rejects zero and codeless addresses, and cannot be re-entered.
    • setMessage debits only the caller to the constant sink, checks the exact sink delta, and rolls back atomically on any transfer failure. No path lets anyone spend another address's allowance.
    • Every storage variable has a single writer, so there is no weakest-guard route.
    • Owner connecting the token while a free post is pending costs that poster only gas.
    • Static-analysis leads were checked and dismissed: the uninitialized width is assigned or reverts on every branch, the aderyn reentrancy lead is on an owner-only, guard-protected path, and the timestamp comparisons implement the requested cooldown and reset.

    Not reached

    No launch.json exists yet, so the manifest row is marked unreached with the expected content noted: a single LastWord entry whose constructor argument is the brief's stated owner address.

    • lowsetToken: try/catch does not cover return-data decoding, so a code-bearing address whose decimals() returns empty or non-uint8 data reverts with empty data instead of the documented InvalidTokenDecimasrc/LastWord.sol:77

      Area: access control (owner-only setter), trust gap (owner picks the token). The owner-only setToken path intends to classify every metadata failure as InvalidTokenDecimals (README.md line 75: 'rejects ... missing/reverting decimal metadata'; docs/ABI.md line 71: 'InvalidTokenDecimals() | Decimal metadata is unavailable or unsupported'). In Solidity, a catch clause only runs when the external call itself reverts.

      If the call succeeds but the return data cannot be decoded as uint8 (empty return data from a contract with a bare fallback, or a 32-byte word above 255), the decoding failure reverts in LastWord itself with empty revert data, bypassing the catch. The guard outcome is still safe: token stays zero, free mode continues, and no state is written, so there is no fund or permission impact and only the owner can reach the path.

      The defect is a wrong error surface: the creator passing a Safe/multisig address, an unimplemented proxy, or a non-conforming token receives a bare revert with no selector, contrary to the ABI documentation that clients and the owner are told to rely on.

      Minimal fix that preserves design: replace the try/catch with a low-level staticcall of abi.encodeCall(IERC20Metadata.decimals, ()) and revert InvalidTokenDecimals() when !success || data.length != 32 || abi.decode(data,(uint256)) > MAX_TOKEN_DECIMALS; or document that decoding failures revert without a selector.

      State: fresh LastWord(0xB77161bbAF98470c6C5101899d30df413F9A019D), token()==0.

      Deploy contract EmptyFallbackToken { fallback() external {} } (code.length > 0, decimals() call succeeds with 0 bytes returned).

      As the owner call setToken(address(EmptyFallbackToken)).

      Expected per README.md:75 and docs/ABI.md:71: revert with selector 0x686d3607 (InvalidTokenDecimals()).

      Actual: the call reverts with empty revert data (0x).

      Same with a contract whose fallback returns the single word 300: expected InvalidTokenDecimals(), actual empty revert data.

      Verified with test/scratch/Probe.t.sol: both calls return ok==false with data 0x, and token() remains address(0).

      Contrast: the committed test test_invalidTokenDoesNotConsumeSlot only covers a contract with no decimals selector at all (NoMetadataToken, whose call reverts) and a reverting decimals(), both of which do hit the catch.

  4. Audit mathAgent #1505found 1 low

    The review is complete. Both new files are git-ignored, so the tree itself is untouched, and the findings file sits at the repository root as required.

    Outcome: one low-severity finding, no arithmetic defects. The math in the assigned area holds under every check from the Math Precision, Boundary and Numerical Gap guides.

    What I verified

    • Decimal scaling cap. The 74-decimal ceiling is exact. 1,000 × 10^74 fits in a uint256 and 75 does not. Fuzz tests cover 0 to 74 accepted and 75 to 255 rejected.
    • Escalation rounding. The next minimum is computed as the previous burn plus ceil(previous ÷ 10), which equals ceil(1.1 × previous) for every integer. The invariant suite cross-checks it against an independent formula. The overflow guard is correct and the 24-hour reset is inclusive at the boundary.
    • Accounting. The lifetime burn total uses checked addition before the transfer, and the exact sink-balance delta rejects short, extra and fake transfers. Token callbacks cannot reenter because of the guard.
    • Ring buffer. Write index and read indices agree at 50, 51, 100 and later counts. Out-of-range reads revert.
    • UTF-8 validation. The byte ranges match the Unicode strict table. The 140 code point and 560 byte limits are exact.
    • Static analysis leads. The uninitialized-local and reentrancy warnings are false positives. The exported ABI is byte-identical to the compiler output. All 56 project tests pass with the verification seed.

    The finding (low). The one-time token setter checks only that the address has code and a decodable decimals() of at most 74. It never exercises balanceOf, which paid posting requires. A contract that exposes decimals() but is not a token, such as a Chainlink price feed, is accepted. After that, free posting is disabled and every paid post reverts inside the balance read, with no recovery path. The owner is trusted and the README tells them to verify first, so I rated it low. A scratch test under test/scratch demonstrates the brick and is attached as the proof. The suggested fix is a static call to the candidate's balanceOf of the burn address inside the setter, which preserves the design.

    Coverage. Eight rows are recorded: both listed entry points, the view functions, the text validator, the ABI export, the burn invariant, and launch.json marked unreached because the manifest has not been generated yet.

    • lowsetToken validates only decimals(); a non-ERC-20 that exposes decimals() is accepted and permanently disables all postingsrc/LastWord.sol:74

      Boundary gap on the one-time, irreversible setter. setToken probes the candidate only for code presence and a decodable decimals() <= 74. It never exercises the two calls setMessage actually depends on, balanceOf(BURN_ADDRESS) (src/LastWord.sol:114,116) and transferFrom. Any contract that has decimals() but no balanceOf, for example a Chainlink AggregatorV3 price feed (decimals()=8), a wrong-network copy, or a token proxy whose implementation is not yet set, passes every check.

      The slot is then permanently filled: free posting is disabled (token != 0 branch), and every paid attempt reverts inside asset.balanceOf(BURN_ADDRESS) before transferFrom is reached. There is no reset path by design.

      Actor and precondition: the trusted owner pasting a wrong address; the README already tells the owner to verify first, so this is a documented trust assumption, reported here because a one-line staticcall probe would close most of it. Suggested minimal fix that preserves the design: after the decimals check, require that IERC20(newToken).balanceOf(BURN_ADDRESS) succeeds (a staticcall that returns 32 bytes), reverting with InvalidToken otherwise.

      Note that it does not prove transferFrom works, but it rejects every non-token contract and most mis-pasted addresses.

      State: fresh LastWord(owner), free mode.

      Input: owner calls setToken(F) where F is a deployed contract with function decimals() external pure returns (uint8) { return 8; } and nothing else (AggregatorV3 shape).

      Expected: setToken reverts (InvalidToken) and free posting continues.

      Actual: setToken succeeds, token()==F, baseMinimumBurn()==1000*1e8, TokenSet emitted.

      Afterwards setMessage("hi", 0) reverts BurnTooSmall(1000e8, 0) and setMessage("hi", 1000e8) reverts with empty data from F.balanceOf(0xdEaD) (no such function).

      No further setToken is possible (TokenAlreadySet).

      The billboard is permanently frozen.

      Verified with test/scratch/SetTokenProbe.t.sol: forge test --match-path test/scratch/SetTokenProbe.t.sol fails test_setTokenRejectsContractWithoutBalanceOf on the current tree.

  5. Audit economicsAgent #1735found nothing

    The review is complete. .imd-findings.json holds an empty findings list, a full coverage record for both entry points, and the economic invariants I checked. The tree is otherwise unchanged (scratch tests removed, .imd-findings.json is the only untracked file).

    Outcome: no reproducible economic defect in src/LastWord.sol.

    What I covered, against the Economic Security, Invariant and Flow Gap guides:

    • Escalation formula. Fuzzed the previous burn over the whole non-overflowing range. The code's prev + ceil(prev/10) equals ceil(11·prev/10) exactly, so "at least 10% more" always holds. The 24-hour reset triggers at exactly 86,400 seconds, and free-mode history (burn 0) or an empty board yields the 1,000-token floor.
    • Value flow. Tokens go from the author straight to the sink address. The contract compares the sink balance before and after and reverts on any mismatch, so fee-on-transfer, short, extra, false-return and no-op tokens all roll back. The contract never holds tokens or ETH, and a front-run only makes the victim's post revert, never burn more than they chose.
    • Token scale. The 1,000-token floor fits a uint256 up to 74 decimals, which I confirmed at 74 and saw 75 rejected. The overflow revert in the minimum needs a previous burn above roughly 1.05e77 base units, which no uint256-supplied token can reach at realistic decimals, and it self-heals at the daily reset.
    • History wrap. After 55 paid posts the pricing still reads the newest ring slot.
    • Static-analysis leads. All three are false positives for this code. The aderyn reentrancy lead at line 77 is a view call under a one-shot, owner-only, non-reentrant setter.

    Trust assumptions, not defects: the owner's one-shot token choice cannot be corrected, so a token that fees, rebases, caps the sink wallet or pauses would permanently stop paid posting. The free-mode cooldown is per address and Sybil-able, as the brief specifies. A large voluntary burn can hold the board for up to a day, which is the intended economics.

    Manifest note. No launch.json exists yet. When it is generated it must pass the creator address from the brief as the single constructor argument. The exported ABI in docs/abi/LastWord.json matches the compiled ABI.

  6. Audit flowAgent #11found 2 info

    Review complete. The findings file is written and the tree is otherwise unchanged.

    Outcome: no exploitable defect found in LastWord. The contract matches the approved brief on every point I traced: free posting with a per-wallet 10-minute cooldown, one-time owner-only setToken, 1,000-token floor scaled by decimals, 10% escalation rounded up, 24-hour reset, exact burn to the dead address verified by sink-balance delta, 50-message ring, lifetime burn total, no ETH, no admin bypass.

    What I checked

    • Execution trace of both entry points through every branch, including the write-before-transfer ordering, the reentrancy guard, and the failure paths. All 56 project tests pass with the pinned fuzz seed. Runtime is 5,306 bytes and the exported ABI is byte-identical to the compiled one.
    • Periphery: the vendored OpenZeppelin SafeERC20 and ReentrancyGuard match v5.1.0 semantics. Non-success bubbles, a return word other than 1 is rejected, empty return data is only accepted from a code-bearing token.
    • First principles: ring arithmetic at counts below, equal to and above 50, the 74-decimal boundary, timestamp zero, free-to-paid transition, approval residuals, and overflow of the escalated minimum. All behave as documented.
    • Static analysis leads: the slither uninitialized-local and the aderyn reentrancy report are false positives. Every branch assigns width or reverts, and decimals() is a staticcall under the guard.

    Two informational findings recorded, each with a reproduction I ran

    1. A token whose decimals() returns undecodable data reverts setToken with empty revert data instead of the documented InvalidTokenDecimals(). The slot stays free, so the guarantee holds. Only the error selector differs from the README and ABI docs.
    2. During the token's transferFrom, views already report the new post and the raised minimum before the sink-balance check runs. Nothing on chain consumes those views and state-changing re-entry is blocked, so there is no loss path.

    Coverage record: 11 rows. Both listed entry points hold. The manifest row is marked unreached because no launch.json exists in the tree yet. When generated it must list only LastWord with the creator address from the brief as its single constructor argument.

    • infosetToken: non-decodable decimals() metadata reverts with empty data, not the documented InvalidTokenDecimalssrc/LastWord.sol:77

      The try/catch only catches a failing external call.

      When decimals() succeeds but its return data cannot be decoded as uint8 (empty return data from a catch-all fallback, or a uint256 value above 255), Solidity raises the ABI-decoding error in LastWord itself and the catch block is skipped. setToken still reverts and the token slot is not consumed, so the guarantee holds; only the error differs from README.md line 75 and docs/ABI.md line 71, which say missing/unsupported metadata produces InvalidTokenDecimals().

      A frontend matching on that selector will show a generic failure instead. Fix (optional): perform a low-level staticcall to decimals() and require returndata.length >= 32 and value <= 74 before casting, reverting InvalidTokenDecimals in all three cases.

      Deploy LastWord(owner).

      Deploy token A = contract with only fallback() external {} and token B = contract whose decimals() returns uint256 300.

      As owner call setToken(A) and setToken(B).

      Expected per docs: revert InvalidTokenDecimals() (selector 0x...).

      Actual: both revert with empty revert data (0x); token() stays address(0).

      Verified with a Foundry test using address(board).call(abi.encodeCall(board.setToken,(A))): ok == false, data == 0x.

    • infoPaid post is visible to the token's transferFrom hook before the burn is verified (read-only reentrancy window)src/LastWord.sol:109

      In paid mode the new Message, messageCount and totalBurned are written before safeTransferFrom runs.

      While the token executes transferFrom, any view of LastWord (currentMessage, minimumBurn, messageCount, totalBurned, getRecentMessages) already reports the new post and the escalated minimum, although BurnAmountMismatch or a token revert may still roll everything back. nonReentrant blocks state-changing re-entry, and no contract in this stage consumes these views, so there is no loss path; the connected token is an owner trust assumption.

      Recorded so integrators (a token with transfer hooks, or any contract reading LastWord inside such a hook) do not treat these views as settled. No change required; moving the storage writes after the sink-balance check would close the window at the cost of re-reading minimumBurn().

      Owner connects token T whose transferFrom(from,to,amount) first calls board.minimumBurn(), board.messageCount() and board.currentMessage() and stores them, then moves the tokens.

      Alice (balance 10000e18, approve board 10000e18) calls setMessage("hi", 1000e18) as the first paid post.

      Inside the hook T observes minimumBurn()==1100e18, messageCount()==1 and currentMessage().author==alice, i.e. the post is reported as final before the sink-balance check at lines 116-120 has run.

      Expected by a reader of docs/ABI.md: views reflect only verified posts.

      Actual: unverified post visible during the external call.

  8. Audit judgeAgent #1050found 1 medium, 2 low, 1 info

    The review is complete. The findings file is written and the working tree is clean apart from the gitignored findings file.

    Outcome. Four findings, all reproduced against the tree. The contract code is sound; the one defect the specialists missed is in the manifest.

    1. Medium, launch.json line 6. The brief itself fixes the owner to the creator wallet, and the manifest rule for this launch mode says a brief-stated owner is written as the static address, not $owner. The committed manifest writes $owner and only claims in notes that it resolves to the creator. If the service resolves it to a different paying or request wallet, the immutable owner and the only privilege, the one-time token connection, go permanently to the wrong party. The fix is to write the static address as the constructor argument.

    2. Low, src/LastWord.sol line 74. Merged from the math specialist. The token setter validates only code presence and decimals, so a contract that answers decimals but is not an ERC-20 is accepted and freezes all posting forever. The attached proof fails on this tree for exactly that reason, so it stays on the finding. It sits inside the documented owner trust assumption, hence low.

    3. Low, src/LastWord.sol line 77. Merged from the permissions and flow specialists, same root cause. When decimals returns undecodable data, the ABI decode error bypasses the catch and the call reverts with empty data instead of the documented selector. No state is written, so only the error surface is wrong. I verified the selector independently.

    4. Info, src/LastWord.sol line 109. From the flow specialist. The new post and escalated minimum are visible to the token's transfer hook before the sink-balance check. Reentrancy into state-changing functions is guarded and the docs acknowledge the window, so this is an integrator note only.

    Verification done. All 76 committed tests pass with the assignment's fuzz seed. The exported ABI is byte-identical to the compiled one. The runtime has no forbidden opcodes and is well under the size limits. Both slither leads and the aderyn reentrancy lead are false positives, recorded as such in the coverage rows. Both listed entry points are answered, with six additional rows for the manifest, minimum-burn escalation, the history ring, the deployment model and the static-analysis leads.

    • mediumlaunch.json passes $owner although the brief states the owner address; the immutable owner can resolve to a wallet other than the creatorlaunch.json:6

      The approved brief (.imd/reads/workflow.md line 10) fixes the owner of every deployed contract to 0xb77161bbaf98470c6c5101899d30df413f9a019d.

      The manifest guidance for this launch mode says $owner is the wallet that paid for the launch or the request's owner field, and that an owner address the brief itself states is written as that static address instead of $owner. launch.json writes ["$owner"] and only asserts in notes that it resolves to the creator; notes are explanatory text, not deployment authority, and nothing in the manifest binds the resolved value to the brief's address.

      LastWord's owner is immutable (src/LastWord.sol line 31) and holds the only privilege, the one-time setToken. If the service resolves $owner to a paying or request wallet that differs from the creator, the wrong party permanently holds the right to connect the token and the creator can never do so, with no transfer or recovery path. The protected owner floor only checks that the owner is not the factory or IMD, so it does not catch this.

      Minimal fix that preserves the design: write the brief's address as the static constructor argument, "constructorArgs": ["0xb77161bbaf98470c6c5101899d30df413f9a019d"].

      State: launch.json as committed, constructorArgs == ["$owner"].

      Input: the factory resolves $owner to the paying wallet P where P != 0xb77161bbaf98470c6c5101899d30df413f9a019d, and deploys LastWord(P) with CREATE2.

      Expected per workflow.md line 10 and the manifest rule for a brief-stated owner: LastWord.owner() == 0xb77161bbaf98470c6c5101899d30df413f9a019d.

      Actual: LastWord.owner() == P; a call to setToken from the creator wallet reverts Unauthorized() (src/LastWord.sol line 72) forever, while P can connect any token.

      Local check: new LastWord(P) then vm.prank(0xB77161bbAF98470c6C5101899d30df413F9A019D); board.setToken(token) reverts with Unauthorized().

      The manifest fix is to replace "$owner" with the static address "0xb77161bbaf98470c6c5101899d30df413f9a019d".

    • lowsetToken accepts any contract that answers decimals(), so a non-ERC-20 address permanently disables all postingsrc/LastWord.sol:74

      Merged from audit_math. setToken checks only code presence and a decodable decimals() <= 74 before writing the one-time slot (lines 74-86). It never probes the two calls setMessage depends on, balanceOf(BURN_ADDRESS) (lines 114, 116) and transferFrom (line 115). A contract with decimals() but no balanceOf, for example a Chainlink AggregatorV3 feed (decimals() == 8), a wrong-network copy, or a proxy without implementation, passes.

      Afterwards free posting is gone (token != 0 branch) and every paid post reverts inside asset.balanceOf(BURN_ADDRESS) before transferFrom, so the billboard is frozen with no reset path by design. The actor is the trusted owner pasting a wrong address, and README.md line 75 documents that an unusable token stops paid posting permanently, so this is a hardening gap inside a stated trust assumption, not a permission bypass.

      Minimal fix that preserves the design: after the decimals check, staticcall abi.encodeCall(IERC20.balanceOf, (BURN_ADDRESS)) and revert InvalidToken() unless the call succeeds and returns 32 bytes. This rejects every non-token contract and most mis-pasted addresses; it does not prove transferFrom works.

      State: fresh LastWord(0xB77161bbAF98470c6C5101899d30df413F9A019D), token() == 0.

      Deploy F = contract DecimalsOnly { function decimals() external pure returns (uint8) { return 8; } }.

      As the owner call setToken(F).

      Expected: revert InvalidToken() and free posting continues.

      Actual: setToken succeeds, token() == F, minimumBurn() == 1000 * 1e8, TokenSet emitted.

      Then setMessage("hi", 0) from alice reverts BurnTooSmall(100000000000, 0) and setMessage("hi", 1000e8) reverts with empty data from F.balanceOf(0xdEaD) (no such function).

      A second setToken reverts TokenAlreadySet().

      Reproduced: the attached proof fails on this tree with setToken accepted a contract that cannot carry out a burn; board is bricked (forge test --match-path test/scratch/Proof_3657ac4aa630.t.sol).

      }
    • lowsetToken try/catch does not cover return-data decoding, so undecodable decimals() metadata reverts with empty data instead of the documented InvalidTokenDecimals()src/LastWord.sol:77

      Merged from audit_permissions (low) and audit_flow (info), same root cause. A catch clause only runs when the external call reverts. If decimals() succeeds but its return data cannot be decoded as uint8 (empty return data from a contract with a catch-all fallback, such as a Safe or an unimplemented proxy, or a 32-byte word above 255), the ABI-decoding failure is raised in LastWord itself with empty revert data and the catch at line 79 is skipped.

      The outcome is still safe: no state is written, token() stays zero, free mode continues, and only the owner reaches the path. The defect is the error surface: README.md line 75 and docs/ABI.md line 71 promise InvalidTokenDecimals() for unavailable or unsupported metadata, and a client matching on selector 0x686d3607 sees a bare revert instead.

      Minimal fix: replace the try/catch with a staticcall of abi.encodeCall(IERC20Metadata.decimals, ()) and revert InvalidTokenDecimals() when !success || data.length < 32 || abi.decode(data, (uint256)) > MAX_TOKEN_DECIMALS; or document that decoding failures revert without a selector.

      State: fresh LastWord(0xB77161bbAF98470c6C5101899d30df413F9A019D), token() == 0.

      Deploy A = contract EmptyFallback { fallback() external {} } and B = a contract whose fallback returns the single 32-byte word 300.

      As the owner, address(board).call(abi.encodeCall(LastWord.setToken, (A))) and the same for B.

      Expected per docs: ok == false with data == abi.encodeWithSelector(LastWord.InvalidTokenDecimals.selector) (0x686d3607).

      Actual: ok == false and data.length == 0 for both; token() remains address(0).

      Reproduced with test/scratch/Repro.t.sol (test_emptyReturnDataRevertsWithoutSelector, test_oversizedDecimalsRevertsWithoutSelector), which log revert data: 0x.

      The committed test test_invalidTokenDoesNotConsumeSlot only covers a reverting decimals() and a contract with no selector, both of which do reach the catch.

    • infoPaid post and escalated minimum are visible to the token's transferFrom hook before the sink-balance check verifies the burnsrc/LastWord.sol:109

      From audit_flow. In paid mode the new Message, messageCount and totalBurned are written (lines 106-110) before safeTransferFrom runs (line 115).

      During the token's transferFrom, every view of LastWord (currentMessage, minimumBurn, messageCount, totalBurned, getRecentMessages) already reports the new post and the next minimum, although BurnAmountMismatch (line 119) or a token revert may still roll everything back. nonReentrant blocks state-changing re-entry, no contract in this stage consumes these views, and docs/SECURITY.md line 15 acknowledges the window, so there is no loss path and the connected token is an owner trust assumption.

      Recorded for integrators: a token with transfer hooks, or any contract reading LastWord inside such a hook, must not treat these views as settled. No change required; moving the storage writes after the sink-balance check would close the window.

      Owner connects token T whose transferFrom(from, to, amount) first reads board.minimumBurn(), board.messageCount() and board.currentMessage().author into storage, then moves the tokens.

      Alice (balance 10000e18, approve board 10000e18) calls setMessage("hi", 1000e18) as the first paid post.

      Expected by a reader of docs/ABI.md: views reflect only verified posts, so inside the hook minimumBurn() == 1000e18 and messageCount() == 0.

      Actual: inside the hook T observes minimumBurn() == 1100e18, messageCount() == 1 and author == alice before the sink-balance check at lines 116-120 has run.

      Reproduced with test/scratch/Repro.t.sol test_viewsVisibleInsideTransferHook (logs: minimumBurn seen in hook 1100000000000000000000, messageCount seen in hook 1).

  9. ManifestAgent #10421 file changed

    The finding reproduced and is fixed. The only changed file is launch.json.

    What reproduced. The approved brief fixes the owner of every deployed contract to the creator wallet, and the manifest rule for this launch mode says a brief-stated owner is written as that static address rather than $owner. A scratch test confirmed the consequence: constructing LastWord with any other wallet leaves the creator unable to call setToken, which reverts with Unauthorized and has no recovery path because the owner is immutable.

    What changed.

    • The constructor argument in launch.json is now the static address 0xb77161bbaf98470c6c5101899d30df413f9a019d instead of $owner.
    • The notes no longer claim that $owner resolves to the creator; they state the address is static because the brief names it.
    • The response to finding 17d4315… is recorded as fixed in .imd-responses.json.

    Verification. The build succeeds, and the full test run with the verifier's fuzz seed passes all 58 tests including the invariant suite and my scratch owner test. A schema check of the manifest confirms it has exactly the kind, contracts and notes keys, string arguments, and notes under the length limit. Git shows launch.json as the only modified tracked file.

  10. Audit judgeAgent #866found 2 low, 1 info

    The review is complete and the findings file is written. Working tree is clean apart from the required output file.

    The one blocking finding from last round is fixed. The manifest now writes the brief's owner address as a static constructor argument instead of $owner. I rehearsed the factory model with a CREATE2 deployment using that exact argument: the deployed contract reports the creator as owner, the deployer gets Unauthorized() on setToken, and the creation and runtime sizes are far under the limits. The manifest has only the three schema keys, one contract, one string argument matching the single address constructor parameter, and notes under the length cap.

    Nothing else changed in the source, so the three advisory items still reproduce exactly as reported before and are carried forward at the same severities, not as new objections:

    • Low: setToken accepts any contract that answers decimals(), so a mis-pasted non-token address bricks posting permanently. The specialist proof fails on this tree for that reason and is attached.
    • Low: an undecodable decimals() return bypasses the catch and reverts with empty data rather than the documented InvalidTokenDecimals() selector.
    • Info: the paid post and escalated minimum are readable inside the token's transferFrom hook before the sink-balance check runs.

    Other checks this round: the ABI export in docs matches the compiled ABI entry for entry. The committed suite passes with 76 tests and no failures. The static-analysis leads do not reproduce as defects: the flagged local is assigned on every non-reverting branch, timestamp comparisons are the specified cooldown and reset design, and the flagged "reentrancy" is a view call inside an owner-only nonReentrant function.

    The coverage record answers both entry points plus the manifest, ABI, deployment-limit, static-analysis and test-suite invariants. No finding in the file is blocking, so from this review's side the launch has nothing outstanding beyond the advisory hardening notes.

Merged from audit_math (id 3657ac4a...). setToken checks only code presence and a decodable decimals() <= 74 before writing the one-time slot (lines 74-86). It never probes the two calls setMessage depends on, balanceOf(BURN_ADDRESS) (lines 114, 116) and transferFrom (line 115).

      A contract with decimals() but no balanceOf, such as a Chainlink AggregatorV3 feed (decimals() == 8), a wrong-network copy, or a proxy without implementation, passes. Afterwards free posting is gone (token != 0 branch) and every paid post reverts inside asset.balanceOf(BURN_ADDRESS), so the billboard is frozen with no reset path by design.

      The actor is the trusted owner pasting a wrong address, and README.md line 75 documents that an unusable token stops paid posting permanently, so this is a hardening gap inside a stated trust assumption, not a permission bypass. Advisory, not blocking.

      State: fresh LastWord(0xB77161bbAF98470c6C5101899d30df413F9A019D), token() == 0.

      Deploy F = contract DecimalsOnly { function decimals() external pure returns (uint8) { return 8; } }.

      As the owner call setToken(F).

      Expected: revert InvalidToken() and free posting continues.

      Actual: setToken succeeds, token() == F, minimumBurn() == 1000 * 1e8, TokenSet emitted.

      Then setMessage("hi", 0) from alice reverts BurnTooSmall(100000000000, 0) and setMessage("hi", 1000e8) reverts with empty data from F.balanceOf(0xdEaD) (no such function).

      A second setToken reverts TokenAlreadySet().

      Re-reproduced this round: the attached proof fails on this tree with setToken accepted a contract that cannot carry out a burn; board is bricked (forge test --match-path test/scratch/Proof_3657ac4aa630.t.sol), and my own scratch test test_decimalsOnlyAcceptedAndBricks logged paid post revert data: 0x.

    • lowsetToken try/catch does not cover return-data decoding, so undecodable decimals() metadata reverts with empty data instead of the documented InvalidTokenDecimals()src/LastWord.sol:77

      Unchanged since the previous round (source identical).

Advisory, not blocking.

      Minimal fix: replace the try/catch with a staticcall of abi.encodeCall(IERC20Metadata.decimals, ()) and revert InvalidTokenDecimals() when !success || data.length < 32 || abi.decode(data, (uint256)) > MAX_TOKEN_DECIMALS; or document that decoding failures revert without a selector.

      State: fresh LastWord(0xB77161bbAF98470c6C5101899d30df413F9A019D), token() == 0.

      Deploy A = contract EmptyFallback { fallback() external {} } and B = a contract whose fallback returns the single 32-byte word 300.

      Re-reproduced this round with test/scratch/Repro.t.sol (test_emptyReturnDataRevertsWithoutSelector, test_oversizedDecimalsRevertsWithoutSelector), both logging revert data: 0x.

      Unchanged since the previous round (source identical). From audit_flow. In paid mode the new Message, messageCount and totalBurned are written (lines 106-110) before safeTransferFrom runs (line 115).

      During the token's transferFrom, every view of LastWord (currentMessage, minimumBurn, messageCount, totalBurned, getRecentMessages) already reports the new post and the next minimum, although BurnAmountMismatch (line 119) or a token revert may still roll everything back. nonReentrant blocks state-changing re-entry, no contract in this stage consumes these views, and docs/SECURITY.md acknowledges the window, so there is no loss path and the connected token is an owner trust assumption.

      Re-reproduced this round with test/scratch/Repro.t.sol test_viewsVisibleInsideTransferHook (logs: minimumBurn seen in hook 1100000000000000000000, messageCount seen in hook 1).

    • mediumfidelity: a valid 140-character message pushes posting off the first phone screenweb/src/styles.css:251

      Now: The mobile billboard grows without a height limit. A valid 140-character message can occupy the entire first screen and push the posting form below it.

      Change to: In the existing mobile media query, cap .message-wrap at 220px, set overflow-y: auto and align-items: flex-start, and make that existing message wrapper keyboard-focusable with tabIndex={0}. Retain the full message in the scrollable area. The author row and composer then move up below the bounded message.

      Why: The review requires the product and its main action on the first screen at 390px; the approved product supports messages up to 140 characters. Message text must remain accessible, not clipped or reduced to an ellipsis.

      Chromium, viewport 390 x 844, at the top of the production export.

      Using the existing web/tests/browser.mjs RPC fixture, return token() = zeroAddress, messageCount() = 1, and currentMessage() = {author: 0x1234567890123456789012345678901234567890, text: "W".repeat(140), burned: 0, timestamp: latestBlock.timestamp - 100}; include the same message in getRecentMessages().

      This is reproducible without a wallet.

      Also connect the fixture's synthetic Test Browser Wallet, wait for fresh reads, enter "Next word." in Your message and scroll back to the top; the Post a message button is enabled but has the same offscreen position.

      No real signature or transaction is needed.

      The billboard measures y=113, height=764.15625, bottom=877.15625.

      The submit control measures y=1178.15625, height=50, bottom=1228.15625, entirely below the 844px first screen.

      The screenshot shows only the billboard in that screen, with the composer below.

      Expected: the posting form and main control remain visible while the complete valid message remains readable.

      Injecting only the proposed message-wrapper CSS during review moves the button to y=723, bottom=773; the complete message remains in the scrollable wrapper.

    • mediumbug: exact approval amounts overflow the confirmation dialogweb/src/App.tsx:925

      Now: The approval review renders the exact token spend in an ordinary paragraph without wrapping long numeric values. The dialog horizontally scrolls, leaving the amount cut off at its right edge on a phone. The paid-post review uses the same unwrapped pattern.

      Change to: Reuse the existing break-value class on the approval-spend paragraph and the paid-post burn paragraph. Keep every digit visible and let the paragraphs grow vertically inside the existing scrollable dialog.

      Why: The visitor must be able to review the exact irreversible amount before confirming. Critical amounts must not be clipped; the application already supports uint256 amounts and provides a wrapping token for them.

      Chromium, viewport 390 x 844.

      Use the existing intercepted RPC/wallet fixture with paid=true, decimals=18, balance=10n77n, minimum=1000n*10n18n and allowance=0n.

      Connect the synthetic Test Browser Wallet, enter "Test exact amount.", and enter "1" followed by 59 zeros as Exact amount to burn (10^77 base units, within uint256 and the supplied balance).

      Click Approve WORD; stop before Confirm approval in wallet.

      The dialog has clientWidth=352 and scrollWidth=558, with an overflow of 206px.

      The screenshot shows the spend number extending beyond the right edge while the confirmation button remains available.

      Expected: all 60 amount digits wrap inside the 352px dialog without horizontal scrolling.

      Applying the existing break-value wrapping behavior in the browser reduces scrollWidth to 352, matching clientWidth.

    • mediumbug: connecting a wallet clears the already loaded billboard and historyweb/src/App.tsx:124

      Now: The public billboard query is keyed by the wallet address. Connecting a wallet creates an empty query and replaces the known current message with "Every word has its moment.", hides the history, and shows "0 / 50 retained" while account reads run. Longer billboards collapse and then expand again.

      Change to: Retain the last successful public snapshot during an account change, using the existing query cache as placeholder data. Keep posting disabled while placeholder data is shown, and show account-specific balance and allowance as loading until the new account read completes.

      Why: Wallet connection does not change the public message or history. Loading states should preserve known public content and avoid moving unrelated content.

      Chromium, 390 x 844.

      Serve the unchanged dist/ through the existing browser-test RPC fixture with messageCount=1, currentMessage.text="A word for everyone.", currentMessage.author=0x1234567890123456789012345678901234567890, burned=0 and a one-message history.

      Wait for "On the billboard".

      Intercept subsequent eth_call responses and delay each by 1500ms.

      Click Connect wallet, then the synthetic Test Browser Wallet; no signature is requested.

      While the new account reads are pending, document.querySelector(".message").innerText is "Every word has its moment." and the history text becomes "0 / 50 retained" plus "Reading message history…".

      After reads finish, the original message returns.

      Expected: the already-known public message and history stay visible throughout connection, with only account-dependent controls loading.
