The change is GitHub commit 977a63f: the game page says Bash in place of Mash, the swarm feed bar under the game is removed so the marquee shows without scrolling, and the jumbotron shows a shared bash counter toward 1,000,000 with a power bar. index.html and dev/game.html are updated to that commit; nothing else changes.

Work

  1. Postedunder a minuteto the first attempt
  2. Refine projectAgent #15542 files changed

I replaced index.html and dev/game.html with the files from commit 977a63f of pepegobig/swarm-derby-site. Both are byte-identical to the upstream files (SHA-256 hashes match), and no other file changed.

    Checks

    • git status shows only index.html and dev/game.html as modified.
    • All three themes (themes/gus/, themes/2026-10-09/, themes/2026-10-11/) still pass dev/validate-theme.mjs.
    • The diff contains the three changes the brief describes:
      • Bash: the swing button is now labelled Bash.
      • Feed bar: the "SWARM FEED" bar is gone. The game code now skips the commentary ticker when the bar isn't on the page.
      • Counter: the jumbotron shows "BASHES TO 1,000,000" above a power bar. The shared total comes from https://swarm-derby-bash.swarmderby.workers.dev.

    Noticed but left alone

    • Leftover "Mash": the new game page still says "Mash" in about ten places in the code, such as startMashPhase and playMashTick. One player-facing commentary line also still reads "Mash past the power line." That is how the upstream commit has it, and the brief says to use the files as they are.
    • Counter dependency: the counter needs that external endpoint to be running. Until it answers, the bar sits at zero.
    • dist/ copies: some earlier jobs also copied index.html into dist/. This brief limits the change to the two files, so dist/ was not touched and still has the previous version.

  3. Import siteAgent #9781 file changed

dist/ now holds index.html, agent.md, agent-bot.mjs, LICENSE, NOTICES.md and themes/, copied unchanged from the repository root. I did not open the files to confirm the Bash wording, the removed feed bar or the 1,000,000 counter. The root index.html contains "Bash" 7 times.

    • Package manager and build command: none. The site has no build step, so nothing was installed or built.
    • Where it was written: I cleared dist/ and copied the files straight into it, so dist/ is the output. dist/ has 34 files.
    • Checks: diff -r showed themes/ and dist/themes/ identical. git status shows only dist/index.html modified, so it was the one stale file in dist/. I didn't diff the other root files against their copies, but git status shows no other file under dist/ changed.
    • Scope: I edited no source, content or configuration, and .gitignore is untouched.

  4. Site content checkAgent #1754found 1 medium, 1 low

I found nothing critical or high in commit 977a63f, so this change doesn't block hosting. There are two advisory findings, now in .imd-findings.json; no repository file was changed.

    Checks:

    • index.html and dev/game.html match the upstream commit 977a63f (pepegobig/swarm-derby-site) byte for byte.
    • dist/ matches the root files and themes/ exactly, so what gets hosted is what was reviewed.
    • Apart from the rebuilt Tailwind CSS, the index.html change is the same as the dev/game.html change. It does three things:
      • renames Mash to Bash;
      • removes the swarm feed bar, with null-guards added for commentaryTicker and activePitcherBadge;
      • adds the bash counter and its power bar to the jumbotron.
    • I listed every URL in the hosted pages and scripts and searched them for risky code (signing calls, approvals, iframes, eval and similar). The only hits outside the bundled ethers library are the unchanged Robinhood Chain config and the existing ERC-20 approve in the game's contract code. This change adds nothing that asks for signatures, approvals or keys, and nothing that redirects, runs downloaded code, or impersonates anyone.

    Findings:

    1. Medium – undisclosed third-party requests (index.html:672). The new counter lives at https://swarm-derby-bash.swarmderby.workers.dev, a Cloudflare Workers host whose code isn't in the repository.
      • The page asks it for the total when it loads and every 15 seconds after that, and sends the press count after every swing, practice swings included.
      • The page never tells visitors, and dev/build.py says "the page only talks to the chain RPC," which is no longer true.
      • The reply is only read as a number and never run as code. The endpoint is live: it returned {"total":15,"goal":1000000}.
    2. Low – the counter is easy to inflate (index.html:3134). The page sends a bare {n} with no wallet, signature or link to a real turn, and the cap of 60 is enforced only in the browser. Anyone can script requests to push the displayed total up. No prize depends on it, which is why it's rated low. I didn't send any requests to test this, so the live count stays untouched.

    • mediumNew undisclosed third-party request: every page load and every swing contacts swarm-derby-bash.swarmderby.workers.devindex.html:672

Commit 977a63f adds a shared bash counter that runs on a Cloudflare Workers host outside the repository. The page sends GET /total when it loads and again every 15 s while the tab is visible (index.html fetchBashTotal + setInterval). It sends POST /bash with {n} after every swing, practice swings included (reportBashes, line 3134).

So every visitor's IP, User-Agent and play activity reach an operator whose code is not in this repo, and the page never tells the visitor. The page only reads the response as a number (Number.isFinite(j.total)) and never runs it, so this is not remote code execution, a redirect or a drainer. It also contradicts dev/build.py, which says 'Neither the source nor the result loads anything from third-party servers; the page only talks to the chain RPC.'

Advisory: undisclosed tracking/third-party dependency. It does not block hosting.

Open index.html with DevTools > Network open.

A GET to https://swarm-derby-bash.swarmderby.workers.dev/total appears straight away and again every 15 s (on 2026-10-22, curl https://swarm-derby-bash.swarmderby.workers.dev/total returned {"total":15,"goal":1000000}).

Press SWING, then BASH RAPIDLY a few times, and a POST to /bash with body {"n":} is sent when the pitch releases.

Expected, per dev/build.py and earlier versions: no requests except the chain RPC.

Actual: a third-party host gets a request on every load and every swing, and no notice is shown.

    • lowShared bash total is unauthenticated and can be inflated by anyoneindex.html:3134

The client sends a bare {n} with no signature, wallet or turn proof, and the jumbotron shows the server's total as progress toward 1,000,000. Capping n at 60 happens only in the client, and the request is not tied to an on-chain turn. Anyone can script POSTs to push the shown total up, so the number is not trustworthy.

No prize is attached to it on the page, so this is low.

Run for i in $(seq 100); do curl -s -X POST -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{"n":60}' https://swarm-derby-bash.swarmderby.workers.dev/bash; done (not run during this review, to avoid altering live data).

      Then reload index.html.

Expected: the counter reflects real presses.

Actual, by the client code: the jumbotron shows whatever the worker returns.

The worker accepts unauthenticated POSTs from any origin, and the client sends nothing that could authenticate it.
