  2. Build websiteAgent #131143 files changedsent back

Built a playable game with three trails, double jumps, cheese collection, pause/retry, and local records with CSV export.

Build, typecheck, 11 engine tests, 15 browser checks, and all 16 design checks pass. Safari remains unverified because WebKit is unavailable.

Static export: dist/index.html. Documentation: README.md, DESIGN.md, and VALIDATION.md. Total deliverable is under 1.6 MB.

    Not delivered: artifacts/browser-results.json, artifacts/bundle-report.json, artifacts/moon-mobile.png, artifacts/preview-desktop.png, artifacts/preview-mobile.png, artifacts/taste-results.json, artifacts/validation.md. Under artifacts/, only this step's named outputs leave the machine.

    Saved five findings to .imd-findings.json:

    • High — bug: WebKit’s initial game canvas stays blank until interaction. The proposed initialization fix was verified in a temporary copy.
    • Medium — bug: Clearing records opens a modal while the ride continues without usable controls.
    • Medium — bug: ArrowUp and W stop jumping after the Jump button receives focus.
    • Medium — bug: Personal best is hidden below 821px.
    • Medium — taste: Four promotional lines compete on the first phone screen.

Requirement coverage: “squeekrider-odyssey” — met, evidenced by package.json:2, the page title and playable game. No detailed product requirements were supplied; none were invented.

The visual idea is a mouse bicycling through an illustrated desert, framed by warm paper and restrained typography.

Chromium and WebKit interactions were checked. JSON and source citations validate; website files remain unchanged.

    • highbug: WebKit shows an empty game canvas until the visitor interactssrc/App.tsx:244

Now: Canvas sizing clears the bitmap, and the first scene is drawn only by the deferred requestAnimationFrame loop. In tested WebKit ready states, that callback does not run before input: the first phone screen has a Start riding button over a blank rectangle, with no mouse, bicycle, or terrain.

Change to: At the end of resize(), after updating pixel and logical dimensions, paint one frame immediately: ctx.setTransform(c.width / game.current.width, 0, 0, c.height / game.current.height, 0, 0); render(ctx, game.current, reduced);. Keep the existing requestAnimationFrame loop for subsequent frames. This also restores the bitmap immediately after a resize clears it.

Why: The product itself must appear on the first screen, including in WebKit. Drawing the initial static scene must not depend on input waking an animation callback.

WebKit at 390 × 844, isMobile:true and hasTouch:true; fresh browser context, load the production dist export, wait 1.5 seconds without moving the mouse or pressing a key, then screenshot.

Expected: Pip, the bicycle and the illustrated desert are visible before Start riding is used.

Actual: the 356 × 330 canvas is fully transparent (sampled colors: 1; pixel at 0,0: [0,0,0,0]; canvas.toDataURL().length: 778), leaving only its CSS background and HTML overlays.

The document reports complete, visible and focused, and no script errors occur.

      Moving the pointer wakes drawing.

Reproduced in WebKit revisions 2370 and 2387; a minimal React canvas control paints normally.

A fresh diagnostic build of the unchanged source also yields transparent pixels.

In an otherwise identical temporary build with only the proposed synchronous draw added to resize(), the initial pixel is [229,238,230,255], PNG data length is 19,982, and the mouse/terrain appear before interaction.

Both diagnostic builds and screenshots were kept outside the repository.

    • mediumbug: the clear-log modal leaves the ride running while blocking its controlssrc/App.tsx:342

Now: openDialog pauses only for help. Opening Clear ride log during a ride makes the background inert and the key handler ignores input while the modal is open, but obstacles and distance continue advancing until the rider crashes.

Change to: Call pause() for both dialog kinds before setDialog(kind), replacing if (kind === "help") pause(); with pause();. Keep the existing paused state and Resume ride control after the modal closes.

Why: A modal that prevents jumping must also stop the time-dependent game; the existing help flow already provides this behavior.

      Chromium at 390 × 844.

Prepare a normal saved ride by completing one ride, or seed localStorage key squeekrider-odyssey-v1 with {"rides":[{"id":"review-modal","trail":"valley","distance":21,"cheese":1,"date":1793606400000}],"best":21,"sound":false} and reload.

Click Start riding, then scroll to the log and click Clear ride log while the ride is active.

      Leave the dialog open.

Measured: dialog.open remains true; the game remains phase-riding and distance increases from 5 m to 20 m over 900 ms; approximately five seconds later it is phase-finished at 74 m and a second record has been saved.

Expected: opening the dialog immediately sets phase-paused and the distance remains fixed until Resume ride.

    • mediumbug: ArrowUp and W stop jumping after the Jump button is usedsrc/App.tsx:301

Now: The keyboard handler returns for every button before handling ArrowUp and W. Clicking or keyboard-activating Jump leaves focus on that button, so those jump shortcuts silently stop working during a ride.

Change to: Keep native button Space/Enter activation, but allow ArrowUp and KeyW through the button guard, for example: if (target.closest("button") && e.code !== "ArrowUp" && e.code !== "KeyW") return;.

Why: The directions advertise ArrowUp as a jump control; using another offered control must not disable it during the same ride.

Chromium, 1440 × 900, reduced motion enabled to make the rider coordinates easy to compare.

Start riding; press ArrowUp with canvas focus: the drawn rider origin rises from y=346.6 to y=274.01 within approximately 150 ms.

Wait for landing, click Jump, wait 1 second for landing, then press ArrowUp. document.activeElement.textContent is "Jump" and every rider-origin sample over the following 150 ms remains y=346.6: no jump.

Repeat with W from the same focused button: again every sample stays y=346.6.

Expected: both shortcuts produce the same jump as they do with canvas focus.

The measurements intercept CanvasRenderingContext2D.translate without modifying game state.

    • mediumbug: the all-time personal best is unavailable at phone and tablet widthssrc/styles.css:980

Now: The only all-time-best output is display:none at widths of 820px or less. The log keeps only the latest 20 rides, so once a best ride leaves that history a returning phone visitor cannot see the preserved best anywhere.

Change to: Keep the existing .personal-best visible in this breakpoint. Wrap .intro with a 12px gap and present the same label and value as one compact line beneath the headline, using --text-small, removing the left border/padding, and making the strong value inline. Let the game follow that line without adding a section.

Why: Responsive layout must preserve the game’s saved result and its unit. Hiding the sole output makes the implemented all-time-best feature unusable on the main phone layout.

      Chromium at 390 × 844.

Use the valid post-history-trimming test state localStorage.setItem("squeekrider-odyssey-v1", JSON.stringify({rides:[{id:"review-test",trail:"valley",distance:21,cheese:1,date:1793606400000}],best:1000,sound:false})); reload and inspect both the top of the page and the ride log.

Measured: .personal-best.textContent is "Personal best1,000 m", computed display is "none", checkVisibility() is false, and document.body.innerText.includes("1,000") is false.

At 821px the same element becomes display:flex; at 320, 390, 600 and 820px it is hidden.

Expected: the saved 1,000 m all-time best remains readable at 390px even though the latest logged ride is 21 m.

    • mediumtaste: four promotional lines compete on the first phone screensrc/App.tsx:419

Now: The first screen stacks the headline "Small rider. Big adventure.", "A small escape awaits.", "Take the scenic route.", and "Made for a moment away." around one game. The headline and supporting sentence describe a mood but never plainly call this a game.

Change to: Use "One mouse. Two wheels." as the headline, retaining the brown second phrase and current display styling; use "A free browser game across three endless desert trails." underneath. Delete the intro-note and scene-signature elements, shorten the footnote to "Free to play.", and let the existing Start riding button move up within .start-overlay as its empty text row and gap disappear. Preserve the jump directions and local-record explanation.

Why: The marketing-copy checklist calls for one distinctive headline plus one plain explanatory line, and cutting a stack of four or more slogans. The mouse-and-bicycle illustration already carries the escape mood; repeating it in three additional taglines weakens the main action.

Chromium, fresh ready state at 390 × 844, no scrolling.

The measured screenshot shows the headline at y=107–177.38, intro-note at y=319.16–341.16, scene-signature at y=552.16–569.16, and the footnote containing "Made for a moment away." at y=668.16–690.55.

All four promotional lines appear before the first fold. taste@1 slogans passes because its narrower two-beat detector counts only the headline; this is a manual copy finding, confirmed on the fresh screenshot.

Expected: one headline/explanatory pair, a clearly named browser game, and Start riding without a second promotional heading above it.

  4. Build websiteAgent #197519 files changed

Fixed all five reproduced findings and rebuilt dist/.

Build, typecheck, 11 game tests, Chromium/WebKit regressions, and all 16 design checks pass. Documentation and .imd-responses.json are updated.

Deliverable: 1.06 MiB, under the 8 MiB limit. Physical Safari/iOS testing remains unperformed.

“squeekrider-odyssey” — met: the named, playable website appears in App.tsx. No fuller product specification was supplied. Publication remains after review.

The site is a browser cycling game carried by a tiny mouse and a warm, illustrated desert.

All five prior findings are fixed, verified in Chromium and WebKit:

    • Canvas: 117,480 painted pixels before interaction; resizing also repaints with animation callbacks withheld.
    • Clear-log modal: ride remains paused at 10 m; cancel, confirm, and resume work.
    • Jump shortcuts: ArrowUp and W move the rider while Jump retains focus.
    • Personal best: “1,000 m” remains visible at 320, 390, 600, 820, 821, and 1440px.
    • Hero copy: one headline and plain game explanation; 17 first-screen prose words.

All 12 focused regression checks passed. The visitor pass also passed pause, help, results, retry, collision, and trail selection in both engines.

.imd-findings.json contains {"findings":[]}. No new reproducible defects or unresolved checking failures remain. Nothing was fabricated.
