Audit the Tombola draw contracts in this repository: src/TombolaDraw.sol and src/TombolaSplitter.sol are the new code and the focus; src/DrandBeacon.sol (drand evmnet BLS verification on BN254, via the vendored randa-mu library under vendor/bls-solidity) is reused from an earlier, already reviewed design and is in scope only as the dependency the draw relies on. Solidity 0.8.26, via_ir, cancun. README.md and DESIGN.md describe the system; test/TombolaDraw.t.sol has 19 passing tests including a real evmnet round from test/fixtures/evmnet.json.

System. Tombola is a lottery token launched on Pons V2 (Robinhood Chain). Pons charges a creator tax on every trade and accrues it in ETH in its fee escrow for the creatorFeeRecipient, which is TombolaSplitter. Anyone calls TombolaSplitter.harvest(): it claims the escrow and splits the ETH 7333 / 2000 / 667 bps between TombolaDraw.fundRegular(), TombolaDraw.fundMega() and a plain send to the team fee wallet (rounding dust to the team). TombolaDraw holds the two pots and the draw ledger. A keeper (hot wallet, immutable address) calls commit(track, snapshotTime, drandRound, amount): it reserves amount from the track's pot and commits to a FUTURE drand round (beacon.roundTime(round) >= snapshotTime + 10 minutes, round not yet proven on chain, snapshotTime <= block.timestamp, one open draw per track). Off chain the keeper rebuilds the eligibility list from the token's Transfer logs at the snapshot block (weightFor: balance >= 10,000e18, held 30 minutes, 1x to 3x over 72 h), publishes it, and calls settle(id, drandSignature, root, totalWeight, winner, cumulativeBefore, weight, proof): the beacon verifies the BLS signature and stores keccak256(signature); randomWord = keccak256(abi.encode(randomness, id)); the leaf keccak256(bytes.concat(keccak256(abi.encode(winner, cumulativeBefore, weight)))) must verify against root (sorted-pair Merkle); weight > 0 and cumulativeBefore + weight <= totalWeight; randomWord % totalWeight must fall in [cumulativeBefore, cumulativeBefore + weight). The prize is sent with a 50,000 gas stipend; a failed send is credited to unclaimed[winner] and claim(to) pays it later. rollover(id, signature, root) returns the prize to the pot when nobody was eligible. A guardian (cold wallet) may cancel(id) a committed, unsettled draw; after 7 days past the round's time anyone may. solvent() states the invariant balance >= potRegular + potMega + reserved + unclaimedTotal.

Trust model, so findings are ranked against it. The contracts are meant to enforce: (1) the drand round was committed before anyone could know it; (2) the randomness is drand's and the winner index is randomWord mod totalWeight over the pinned list; (3) the winner is in the pinned list with the claimed weight and the index falls in its range; (4) ETH only leaves as a settled prize to the proven winner, the team's share from the splitter, or back into a pot on rollover/cancel. The keeper IS trusted to build an honest, complete list with honest weights: that is verified off chain from public data, not by the contract, and is NOT a finding. The keeper choosing when to commit (and so which future round) is accepted. No owner, no upgrade, no withdraw exists by design.

Please focus on: (a) pot solvency and accounting: potRegular / potMega / reserved / unclaimedTotal across commit, settle, rollover, cancel, claim, fundRegular/fundMega/receive, including uint128 amount truncation in commit and any path that breaks solvent(); (b) the commit-before-randomness guarantee: can the keeper or anyone commit to a round whose signature is already public or predictable (COMMIT_DELAY vs drand's 3 s period and clock skew, roundTime arithmetic, the randomness(round) != 0 check, snapshotTime far in the past), and whether settle/rollover could use a different round than committed; (c) the Merkle leaf and winner-range checks: leaf encoding collisions, a proof for a leaf that is not a leaf (intermediate node, duplicated last leaf padding), root == 0, totalWeight inconsistent with the tree, overlapping or gapped cumulative ranges letting the keeper pick between two winners, weight == 0 leaves; (d) re-entrancy and ordering: nonReentrant on settle/rollover/cancel/claim, _pay before/after state, the 50,000 gas stipend and return bomb, the splitter's harvest re-entering through the escrow or the team wallet, the draw's receive() being called by the splitter during harvest; (e) the guardian / cancel / abandon paths: can the guardian or the 7-day anyone-cancel be used to grief a settled or settlable draw, re-cancel, double-return, or lock a track (activeDraw) permanently; what happens with guardian == address(0); (f) griefing: dust amounts, failed sends to the team wallet reverting harvest, a winner contract that reverts, claim(to) by third parties, pots stuck forever, a keeper that never settles; (g) anything that lets the keeper, the guardian, the splitter, the team wallet or any third party take ETH that is not a settled prize or the team's bps share, or move ETH between pots. Also note any mismatch between what the README/DESIGN claim the contract enforces and what the code enforces.

For each finding give the location, the concrete sequence of calls, and the impact in ETH terms; a Foundry reproduction against test/TombolaDraw.t.sol's setUp is welcome. Please classify what is informational (accepted trust in the keeper) separately from what is exploitable.

This is a re-audit: job 42b4b3b5-4c53-4368-aa49-ffdd71222d33 audited commit 705e9d2 and reported 1 High (totalWeight unbound at settle), 3 Medium (far-future round, stale snapshot, rollover/cancel veto), 3 Low (1-second lead, contracts as winner, locked credits) and 3 Info (keeper trust, dead keeper, docs). Every one was addressed in this commit (see the commit message and README). Please confirm each is closed and look for anything the changes introduced, in particular around the list now being pinned at commit (root, totalWeight, EMPTY_ROOT), the cancel windows, setKeeper, redirectCredit and expireCredit.

  • 1.mediumKeeper can veto a publicly known outcome: settle()/rollover() are keeper-only and the 7-day abandon cancel re-rolls a settleable prizesrc/TombolaDraw.sol:185

            if (msg.sender != keeper) revert NotKeeper();

    README.md (Trust model, lines 88-90) and the contract header (line 25: 'a known outcome can't be vetoed') state that once the round is public the keeper can neither choose the outcome nor decide whether to accept it. The code enforces only the first half.

    After the committed round is published every input settle() needs is public and verified on chain: the root and totalWeight are pinned at commit, drand's signature is verifiable by anyone (beacon.prove is permissionless), and settle() itself checks the leaf, the proof and the modulus range. Yet settle() (line 185) and rollover() (line 213) revert NotKeeper for anyone else, and the guardian cannot cancel between roundTime and roundTime + ABANDON_AFTER (lines 232-236).

    A keeper that dislikes the proven winner simply never calls settle(). Seven days after the round anyone, the keeper included, calls cancel(id): _return() puts the full prize back into the pot and the keeper commits it again to a fresh round with a fresh list. Repeating this until a favoured wallet wins biases the lottery at no ETH cost, only a 7-day lock per re-roll.

    This is the same veto the previous audit's Medium 4 closed for the guardian (cancel refused after roundTime) and for rollover (refused on a non-empty list); it survives through keeper non-settlement. The brief accepts the keeper choosing WHEN to commit; it does not accept the keeper choosing whether to honour a known outcome, and the README claims the contract prevents it.

    Impact: the proven winner of any draw loses the whole prize (amount, up to the full pot of the track), which goes back under the keeper's choice.

    Fix: drop the keeper check from settle() and rollover() (every argument is validated against pinned data and the BLS signature, so the caller adds nothing), or at minimum open them to anyone once block.timestamp >= beacon.roundTime(d.drandRound). The abandon cancel then only reaches draws that are genuinely unsettleable.

    1. draw.fundRegular{value: 1 ether}(); keeper commits (Regular, now, ROUND, 1 ether, leaf(alice, 0, 1e18), 1e18): a one-wallet honest list, alice must win whatever drand says.

    2. vm.warp(beacon.roundTime(ROUND) + 1); anyone may call beacon.prove(ROUND, SIG), the outcome is fixed.

    3. vm.prank(alice); draw.settle(id, SIG, alice, 0, 1e18, []) -> expected: alice receives 1 ether; actual: revert NotKeeper().

    The same call from the guardian reverts NotKeeper().

    1. vm.prank(guardian); draw.cancel(id) -> revert TooEarly().

    2. vm.warp(roundTime + 7 days); vm.prank(keeper); draw.cancel(id) -> succeeds: potRegular == 1 ether, alice.balance == 0, getDraw(id).cancelled == true.

    3. keeper commit(Regular, now, roundAt(now + 11 min), 1 ether, leaf(bob, 0, 1e18), 1e18) -> succeeds: the same prize is re-drawn. test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_keeperReRollsAKnownOutcome runs steps 1-6 and passes on this code; the attached proof fails with NotKeeper() on this code and passes once settle() is permissionless after the round.

  • 2.mediumsetKeeper() is blocked by any open draw, so a leaked keeper key denies its own rotation by re-committing after every guardian cancelsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:247

            if (activeDraw[Track.Regular] != 0 || activeDraw[Track.Mega] != 0) revert TrackBusy();

    README.md line 90-91 names the guardian's cancel window and a keeper rotation as 'the answer' to a leaked hot key. setKeeper() (line 247) reverts TrackBusy while either track has an open draw, and only the keeper opens draws: commit() needs just 1 wei in a pot (anyone can supply it through receive(), fundRegular() or fundMega()) and any round 10 minutes to 1 day ahead.

    The deployed guardian 0x4c6B36b84F14E3111c732136bb38803E82bBCC46 is an EOA (cast code is empty on chain 4663), so cancel(id) and setKeeper(next) are two transactions. A bot holding the leaked key re-commits in the block after each cancel lands; setKeeper() keeps reverting TrackBusy.

    Worse, once a draw's round time has passed the guardian cannot cancel at all for 7 days (line 234-235), so a leaked key that commits and then stays silent freezes rotation for 7 days per draw with no race needed, and re-commits the block after the abandon cancel.

    Each attacker draw can carry amount = the whole pot with a one-leaf list naming the attacker; the guardian must cancel every one inside the 10-minute COMMIT_DELAY window, forever, and the first miss pays the attacker the entire reserved amount at settle (potRegular or potMega in full).

    Impact: the only key-compromise recovery path in the design is defeatable at the cost of gas, and the pots are then protected only by the guardian never missing a 10-minute window.

    Fix: let setKeeper() succeed while draws are open (open draws are fully pinned; the new keeper can settle or roll them over and the guardian can still cancel), or make setKeeper() cancel open draws whose round is still in the future in the same transaction, or add a guardian-only cancelAndRotate(id, newKeeper).

    Variant: attacker calls draw.fundMega{value: 1}() then the keeper commits (Mega, now, ROUND, 1 wei, ...) -> setKeeper reverts TrackBusy as well.

  • 3.lowexpireCredit() returns an uncollected Mega-track prize to the regular pot: anyone can move ETH between potssrc/TombolaDraw.sol:274

            potRegular += amt;

    A failed payout is credited per address (unclaimed, creditedAt) without remembering which track the draw was on, and expireCredit() unconditionally adds the expired credit to potRegular (line 274). A Mega prize (the 20% share) whose winner is a contract that cannot receive ETH and never calls claim/redirectCredit therefore becomes regular-pot money after CREDIT_EXPIRY, and anyone may trigger that at the first second.

    README line 61 and line 84 do document 'returned to the regular pot', so the code matches the docs, but the brief's trust item (4) says ETH goes back into 'a pot' on rollover/cancel and asks that any inter-pot movement be flagged: this is the one path where mega-draw ETH is redistributed to regular-draw participants, by a third party. No ETH leaves the contract and solvent() holds.

    Impact: up to the full mega prize amount shifts from the mega pot to the regular pot.

    Fix: record the track with the credit (e.g. mapping(address => uint256) per track, or expire per draw id and use d.track) and return it to that pot, or keep the behaviour and say so in the trust model.

  • 4.lowGuardian cancel has no clock-skew margin: a cancel in a block stamped roundTime - 1 is accepted although drand's signature may already be publicsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:232

            if (block.timestamp < roundTime) {

    The guardian's veto is meant to end when the outcome becomes public (README line 65-67). The test is block.timestamp < beacon.roundTime(round) (line 232). drand evmnet publishes round r at wall-clock roundTime(r) and its API serves the signature within the same second; the L2 block timestamp is set by the sequencer and trails wall-clock (measured during this review: the latest Robinhood Chain block was stamped 1 s behind wall-clock).

    In a block stamped roundTime - 1 the guardian (or anyone with the guardian's key, or a guardian colluding with the keeper) can already read the signature, compute the winner, and still cancel: a known outcome is vetoed and the prize returns to the pot. The previous audit's 'one-second lead' Low was closed on the commit side with COMMIT_DELAY (line 149); the symmetric margin is missing on the cancel side.

    The guardian is trusted, and the window is a second or two, so this is Low.

    Impact: the prize of one draw (amount) is re-rolled despite a public outcome.

    Fix: require block.timestamp + CANCEL_MARGIN < roundTime for the guardian path (one minute is plenty), so no block the sequencer can plausibly stamp overlaps drand's publication.

  • 5.infoAccepted keeper trust: overlapping, gapped or falsely empty lists are accepted on chain; the keeper may pick between two winners or force a free re-rollsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:198

            if (target < cumulativeBefore || target >= cumulativeBefore + weight) revert BadWinner();

    Informational, inside the brief's stated trust model: the contract checks only that the winner's leaf is in the pinned tree, weight > 0, cumulativeBefore + weight <= totalWeight (line 194) and that the target falls in the leaf's range (line 198). It cannot check that the ranges partition [0, totalWeight).

    Keeper-controlled shapes: (1) overlapping ranges, e.g. leaves (alice, 0, 100e18) and (bob, 0, 100e18) with totalWeight 100e18: after the round both leaves prove and the keeper picks the winner; (2) a gapped total, e.g. an honest 400e18 list pinned with totalWeight 800e18: with probability 50% no leaf covers the target, nobody can settle, rollover() reverts WrongStage (totalWeight != 0), and after ABANDON_AFTER the prize returns to the pot, a free re-roll; (3) EMPTY_ROOT with totalWeight 0 while holders exist: rollover only.

    All are visible to anyone recomputing the list in the commit-to-round window, and the guardian can cancel them there.

    Also by design: the keeper's own wallet, the guardian or the team wallet may be leaves (only address(0), the draw and the splitter are refused at line 188), and the 10-minute COMMIT_DELAY is the whole reaction window for a cold-wallet guardian.

    Nothing to change in the contract; the off-chain verifier should refuse an unpublished list, check that cumulativeBefore values are contiguous and sum to the pinned total, and the guardian should cancel any draw whose list is not public well before roundTime. Hardening options if wanted: let settle() also take the neighbouring leaf to prove contiguity, and prove the last leaf's cumulativeBefore + weight == totalWeight at commit.

Expected per README: the list identifies one winner; actual: two leaves qualify and the keeper chooses.

  • 6.infoCommit-before-randomness rests on the sequencer's block.timestamp being within COMMIT_DELAY (10 min) of wall-clock timesrc/TombolaDraw.sol:149

            if (roundTime < block.timestamp + COMMIT_DELAY) revert RoundTooEarly();

    The only guards against committing to a round whose signature already exists are roundTime >= block.timestamp + COMMIT_DELAY (line 149) and the on-chain randomness(round) != 0 check (line 151), which only catches rounds somebody has already proven on this chain. drand evmnet publishes every 3 s, so a sequencer clock lagging wall-clock by >= 600 s would let the keeper commit to a published round and steer the result through snapshotTime (30-minute range) and the list.

    Measured during this review the latest Robinhood Chain block was stamped 1 s behind wall-clock, and Arbitrum-family sequencers stay within seconds, so this is a chain-level trust assumption rather than a defect. The roundTime arithmetic is otherwise sound: round 0 reverts on underflow, MAX_LEAD (line 150) bounds large rounds, settle/rollover use only d.drandRound so no other round can be substituted.

    Nothing to change unless the chain's timestamp policy changes; a larger COMMIT_DELAY would widen the margin at the cost of a longer guardian window.

    Duplicates merged: audit_economics cfe1f167, audit_permissions 02ac83fc.

    State: sequencer block.timestamp == wallClock - 600 (or more). keeper calls commit(track, snapshotTime = block.timestamp, round = roundAt(block.timestamp + 600), ...) -> accepted, although drand already published that round in real time. Not reproducible in Foundry beyond vm.warp; measured live lag is 1 s (block 1792527489 vs clock 1792527490).

  • 7.infoREADME table and DESIGN.md still describe the pre-pin interface (root supplied at settle, list built after the round)README.md:12

    | [`src/TombolaDraw.sol`](src/TombolaDraw.sol) | Holds the two pots and the draw ledger. The keeper `commit`s a draw to a future drand round, then `settle`s it with drand's signature, the Merkle root of the published eligibility list and the winner's leaf proof. Pays the winner. |

    The commit message for bb37d2c closes the previous audit's Info 10 with 'README and DESIGN match the shipped interface'.

    Four passages still describe the previous design: README.md line 12 (the keeper settles 'with drand's signature, the Merkle root of the published eligibility list and the winner's leaf proof'; settle() now takes only the winner's leaf, the root is pinned by commit); DESIGN.md line 17 ('the round committed on chain before the snapshot'; the snapshot now precedes the commit); DESIGN.md lines 33-36 (settle 'records the winner, the Merkle root of the published snapshot'); DESIGN.md lines 48-53 (the keeper builds and publishes the snapshot 'after the drand round is published' and then settles, exactly the flow the re-audit fix removed).

    DESIGN.md calls the verifier verify-drop.mjs while README calls it verify-draw.mjs. A verifier following DESIGN.md would accept a list published after the round. README steps 2-4 and the trust model are correct except the keeper-veto sentence covered by the Medium finding.

    Fix: reword the four passages to the commit-pins-list flow.

    Compare README.md line 12 and DESIGN.md lines 17, 33-36, 48-53 with src/TombolaDraw.sol: commit(Track,uint64,uint64,uint256,bytes32,uint256) at line 140 takes root and totalWeight and requires snapshotTime <= block.timestamp (line 146); settle(uint256,bytes,address,uint256,uint256,bytes32[]) at line 181 has no root parameter. Expected: the docs describe the shipped signatures; actual: they describe a settle that supplies the root and a list built after the round.

  • 8.infoharvest() reverts as a whole if the Pons escrow's claim() ever reverts while balanceOf() is non-zero, stranding ETH already in the splittersrc/TombolaSplitter.sol:58

                emit Harvested(escrow.claim());

    Dependency-failure note. harvest() calls escrow.claim() whenever escrow.balanceOf(splitter) > 0 with no fallback (line 58). If the escrow ever reverts on claim() (a pause, an upgrade, a changed rule) harvest() reverts entirely, so ETH already sitting in the splitter cannot reach the pots or the team until the escrow is fixed, and the splitter is immutable and bound to 0xd3AFEB2a57f70eF218Aa82451c51B2fb0416Ac9e forever (confirmed on chain).

    The specialists report the live escrow reverts only on a zero balance, which the balanceOf guard already covers, so no failing state exists today. A try/catch around the claim (distribute what is here even when the claim fails) would remove the coupling.

    Medium 4 (rollover/cancel veto): closed for rollover (line 215 refuses a non-empty list) and for the guardian (lines 232-236); the keeper keeps an equivalent veto through non-settlement, reported above as Medium. Low 5 (1-second lead): closed on the commit side at line 149; the cancel side lacks the margin, reported above as Low. Low 6 (contracts as winner): closed by line 188 and redirectCredit (line 262).

    Low 7 (locked credits): closed by expireCredit (line 271). Info 8/9 (keeper trust, dead keeper): setKeeper added (line 244); the rotation can be blocked by an open draw, reported above as Medium. Info 10 (docs): mostly closed, four stale passages remain (Info above).

    Also verified in this review: solvent() holds on every path exercised (commit, settle paid or credited, rollover, both cancel windows, claim, redirectCredit, expireCredit, fundRegular/fundMega/receive, splitter harvest); uint128 truncation in commit is prevented by the type(uint128).max bound at line 154; the double-hashed 96-byte leaf cannot collide with a 64-byte inner node, so neither an intermediate node nor the duplicated padding leaf can be proven as a different winner; root == 0 and EMPTY_ROOT misuse are refused at line 152; nonReentrant covers settle/rollover/cancel/claim/redirectCredit/expireCredit and the unguarded fund functions only add; the 50,000 gas stipend bounds a return bomb to what 50k gas can allocate; the splitter conserves every wei, holds a team share whose send fails or re-enters in teamOwed without blocking the pots (test_teamWalletReentryIsHeld), and never calls the draw's receive(); activeDraw can never lock permanently because roundTime <= commit + MAX_LEAD and the abandon cancel is permissionless; guardian == address(0) is refused by the constructor.

    On chain 4663 the deployed TombolaDraw's keeper, guardian, splitter and beacon and the splitter's draw and escrow match the documented addresses; both keeper and guardian are EOAs; pots, reserved and drawCount are 0.

Work

  1. Posted1 minto the first attempt
  2. Audit mathAgent #884found 1 medium, 1 low

    I found two new issues, one medium and one low, and nothing high or critical. Both are in .imd-findings.json. I changed no repository files; the scratch test directory has been deleted, and its source is kept in the medium finding's proof field.

    Medium: the keeper can veto a drawn winner (src/TombolaDraw.sol:185)

    • Cause: only the keeper can call settle(), even though everything settle checks is public once the round's time passes.
    • How it plays out: the keeper sees the winner, doesn't settle, and waits 7 days. Then anyone can cancel, the prize goes back to the pot, and the keeper commits it again to a new round.
    • Impact: this brings back the earlier "rollover/cancel veto" finding, with the keeper as the actor instead of the guardian. It breaks trust-model property (2), since the winner is no longer simply drand's draw over the pinned list. The proven winner loses the whole prize.
    • Proof: a Foundry test where the proven winner calls settle() with the real evmnet fixture round. It fails today with NotKeeper and would pass if settle were open to anyone.
    • Fix: let anyone call settle().

    Low: a compromised keeper can block its own replacement (src/TombolaDraw.sol:247)

    • Cause: setKeeper only works when no draw is open on either track, and it is a separate transaction from cancel.
    • How it plays out: after the guardian cancels, the keeper immediately commits a new draw (1 wei is enough), so the guardian's setKeeper reverts.
    • Impact: the keeper can't take ETH this way, but rotating it out never succeeds.

    Earlier findings: all closed. I checked each one in the code:

    • The list's root and total weight are now pinned at commit.
    • MAX_LEAD (1 day) means the 7-day anyone-cancel always opens.
    • A snapshot older than 30 minutes at commit is refused.
    • Rollover only works on a draw pinned as empty.
    • The round must be at least 10 minutes after the commit block.
    • settle refuses address(0), the draw contract and the splitter as winner.
    • redirectCredit and expireCredit handle credits that can't be collected.
    • A zero guardian is refused in the constructor.

    Other areas, no defects:

    • Merkle checks: a double-hashed 96-byte leaf can't collide with a 64-byte internal node, and empty or zero roots are rejected.
    • Accounting: pot, reserved and unclaimed amounts stay consistent through every path, the uint128 cap blocks truncation, and solvent() holds.
    • Reentrancy: the draw's guards and the splitter's lock and teamOwed logic hold up.
    • Cancel windows: a draw can't be cancelled twice or after settling.

    Overlapping or gapped weight ranges in the list are the trusted keeper's responsibility, so I didn't report them.

    Only the medium finding was reproduced in Foundry. The low one is shown by tracing the code and has no test.

    • mediumsettle() is keeper-only: the keeper can veto a public outcome and re-roll the prize via the 7-day abandon pathsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:185

      After the round's time, the drand signature, the pinned list and the winner's proof are all public, but only the keeper may call settle(). If the keeper does not like the winner, it can simply not settle. Nobody can cancel until roundTime + ABANDON_AFTER.

      After that, anyone's cancel() returns the prize to potRegular/potMega, and the keeper commits the same amount to a new round with a new list. This brings back the 'known outcome can be vetoed' issue (prior Medium 4) through the keeper instead of the guardian, and it breaks trust-model property (2): the winner is no longer drand's draw over the pinned list. Choosing not to settle is not the accepted 'keeper chooses when to commit' trust.

      The proven winner loses the full prize amount (for example, 1 ETH).

      Fix: make settle() permissionless, since every input is checked against data pinned at commit and the BLS signature. rollover() can stay keeper-only or also be opened, because it only applies to EMPTY_ROOT draws.

      setUp as in test/TombolaDraw.t.sol.

      Fund 1 ETH, then keeper commit(Regular, now, ROUND, 1 ether, root(alice 0..1e18, bob 1e18..2e18), 2e18).

      Warp to roundTime(ROUND)+1.

      The computed winner w calls settle(id, SIG, w, cum, 1e18, proof).

      Expected: w is paid 1 ETH.

      Actual: revert NotKeeper.

      The keeper then waits until roundTime+7 days, anyone calls cancel(id), potRegular is 1 ETH again, and the keeper re-commits to a new round.

    • lowA compromised keeper can block setKeeper() indefinitely by keeping a draw opensrc/TombolaDraw.sol:247

      setKeeper requires both tracks to be idle, and it is a separate transaction from cancel(). A compromised keeper, which the rotation exists to remove, watches for the guardian's cancel(id) and immediately calls commit() again on that track (any amount >= 1 wei while the pot is non-zero). The guardian's setKeeper then reverts TrackBusy.

      Every cancel/setKeeper attempt can be raced in the same way. The keeper cannot drain ETH this way, but the rotation never succeeds and draws keep being opened and then cancelled.

      Fix: let setKeeper run while draws are open (open draws keep their pinned data; settle checks are keeper-agnostic), or have the guardian's cancel also accept a new keeper atomically.

      With the pot > 0 and keeper K compromised: the guardian calls cancel(id) on both tracks, which succeeds.

      K then calls commit(Regular, now, futureRound, 1, root, w) before the guardian's next transaction.

      The guardian's setKeeper(newK) reverts TrackBusy.

      Repeat indefinitely.

  3. Audit permissionsAgent #1176found 2 medium, 5 info

    Review complete. The findings file holds 2 Medium and 5 Info entries, every snippet matches the tree, and nothing in the repository changed apart from the findings file and the scratch tests (git status shows them as ignored or untracked only).

    What I found

    • Medium: the keeper can veto a known outcome. Only the keeper may call settle or rollover, and after seven days anyone, the keeper included, may cancel and return the prize to the pot. A keeper that dislikes the winner never settles, then re-draws the same ETH. The README says the keeper cannot refuse a known outcome. The proof test at test/scratch/KeeperVeto.t.sol fails now with NotKeeper and passes once settle is permissionless, which costs nothing since every settle input is public.
    • Medium: a leaked keeper key can block its own rotation forever. setKeeper reverts while any draw is open, and the guardian cannot cancel and rotate atomically. A bot re-commits 1 wei the block after each cancel, so the rotation the README names as the recovery for a leaked key never lands. Proof at test/scratch/KeeperBlocksRotation.t.sol fails with TrackBusy now and passes with the activeDraw condition removed.
    • Info: overlapping or gapped lists remain undetectable on chain (accepted keeper trust), expireCredit returns a Mega prize to the regular pot (documented), the time checks rest on the sequencer's block timestamp (measured lag today: zero), and three sentences in README and DESIGN still describe the pre-pin interface.

    Prior audit closure. All ten findings of job 42b4b3b5 are closed in this commit. The two caveats are the ones above: the guardian's veto is gone but the keeper's remains through non-settlement, and setKeeper exists but can be denied.

    Verified sound. Pot accounting and solvent hold on every path, uint128 truncation is bounded, settle uses only the committed round, the double-hashed leaf cannot collide with an inner node, the splitter conserves every wei and cannot be re-entered. On Robinhood Chain the deployed draw and splitter reference each other and the documented beacon, escrow and team wallet, and the live escrow's claim returns a uint256, so harvest will not brick.

    • mediumKeeper can veto a known outcome: settle() is keeper-only and the abandon-cancel returns a settleable prize to the pot for a re-drawsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:185

      README (Trust model) and the contract header state that once the round is public the keeper can neither choose the outcome nor decide whether to accept it, and that after the round's time 'a known outcome can't be vetoed'.

      The code does not enforce that. settle() (line 185) and rollover() (line 213) are the only ways to close a draw with its outcome, and both are keeper-only; cancel() after roundTime + ABANDON_AFTER is open to anyone, including the keeper, and _return()s the full prize to the pot. So a keeper that sees an unwanted winner simply never calls settle().

      Seven days after the round the keeper (or its bot) calls cancel(id): the prize goes back into the pot and the keeper commits it again against a fresh round. Repeating this until a favoured wallet (its own, holding >= 10,000 tokens) wins biases the lottery at zero ETH cost, only a 7-day delay per re-roll.

      This is exactly the veto the previous audit's Medium 4 closed for the guardian (cancel is now refused between roundTime and roundTime + 7 days) but it still exists for the keeper through non-settlement. Every input settle() needs is public (drand signature, the published list, the winner's leaf and proof, all verifiable on chain), so the keeper check adds no safety and only grants the veto.

      Impact: the full prize of any draw (the whole reserved pot amount, e.g. 1 ETH in the reproduction) can be withheld from the proven winner and re-drawn.

      Fix: drop the keeper check in settle() (and rollover()), so the proven winner or anyone can close a settleable draw before the abandon window opens; optionally let the abandon-cancel only run when the beacon has no randomness for the round (i.e. the round was never provable), though that alone does not cover a keeper that refuses to submit the signature, so permissionless settle is the real fix.

      setUp of test/TombolaDraw.t.sol.

      1. fund 1 ether; keeper commit(Regular, now, ROUND, 1 ether, leaf(alice,0,1e18), 1e18) (one-wallet honest list: alice must win).

      2. warp to roundTime(ROUND)+1: the drand signature SIG is public, alice is the only possible winner.

      3. alice (or anyone) calls settle(id, SIG, alice, 0, 1e18, []) -> reverts NotKeeper.

      Expected: the proven winner can be paid; actual: only the keeper can.

      1. keeper stays silent; warp to roundTime(ROUND)+7 days; keeper calls cancel(id) -> succeeds, potRegular == 1 ether again, alice.balance == 0.

      2. keeper commit(Regular, now, roundAt(now+11 min), 1 ether, same leaf, 1e18) -> succeeds: the same prize is re-drawn. test/scratch/KeeperVeto.t.sol (the proof) fails with NotKeeper on this code and passes once settle() is permissionless; test/scratch/KeeperVetoAsIs.t.sol runs the re-roll path end to end on this code and passes, showing the proven winner is never paid.

    • mediumsetKeeper() is blocked by any open draw, so a leaked keeper key can deny its own rotation forever by re-committing 1 wei after every guardian cancelsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:247

      The README names rotation as the remedy for a leaked hot key ('A leaked keeper key can commit a dishonest list; the guardian's window and a rotation are the answer'). But setKeeper() reverts TrackBusy while either track has an open draw, and only the keeper itself closes draws before the round (settle/rollover need the round) while the guardian can only cancel().

      The guardian is a cold-wallet EOA on a chain with no EIP-7702 (cancun), so cancel and setKeeper are two transactions. A bot holding the leaked key watches activeDraw and re-commits a 1 wei draw (amount >= 1 wei of either pot, a root of its choosing, any round 10 min to 1 day ahead) in the block right after each cancel lands, before the guardian's setKeeper is mined.

      The guardian can therefore never rotate; it must instead cancel every dishonest draw within its 10-minute-to-1-day window, 24/7, indefinitely. The first window it misses pays the attacker's chosen list the whole reserved amount (up to the entire pot).

      Even an honest but buggy keeper that keeps a draw open blocks rotation, and after the round time the guardian cannot cancel at all for 7 days, so a keeper that commits and then refuses to settle freezes rotation for 7+ days per draw per track.

      Impact: the sole key-compromise recovery path in the design is defeatable at the cost of 1 wei per block of racing.

      Fix: remove the activeDraw condition from setKeeper() (the new keeper can settle or roll over whatever is open, and the guardian can still cancel), or make setKeeper() cancel open draws whose round is still in the future in the same transaction.

      2. prank(keeper) commit(Regular, now, ROUND, 1 wei, keccak256('x'), 1) -> open draw a.

      4. next block: prank(keeper) commit(Regular, now, ROUND, 1 wei, keccak256('x'), 1) -> ok (track free again).

      5. prank(guardian) setKeeper(next) -> reverts TrackBusy.

      Expected: the guardian can rotate a compromised keeper; actual: TrackBusy for as long as the compromised key keeps re-committing. test/scratch/KeeperBlocksRotation.t.sol fails with TrackBusy on current code.

    • infoOverlapping, gapped or falsely empty lists are not detectable on chain: the keeper can pin a list that lets it choose between winners or force a no-winner outcome (accepted keeper trust, listed for cosrc/TombolaDraw.sol:194

      The contract checks only that the winner's leaf is in the pinned tree, weight > 0, cumulativeBefore + weight <= totalWeight and that the target falls in the leaf's range. It cannot check that the ranges partition [0, totalWeight).

      Three keeper-controlled shapes follow, all visible to off-chain verifiers in the commit-to-round window (the recomputed root or total will not match) and so inside the accepted keeper trust: (1) overlapping ranges, e.g. leaves (alice, 0, 100) and (bob, 0, 100) with totalWeight 100: after the round either leaf proves, so the keeper picks the winner; (2) a gapped total, e.g. an honest 400-weight list pinned with totalWeight 1000: with probability 60% no leaf covers the target, nobody can settle, and after ABANDON_AFTER the prize returns to the pot (a re-roll, cf. the Medium on non-settlement); (3) EMPTY_ROOT with totalWeight 0 while holders exist: the draw can only be rolled over and the prize returns to the pot.

      None of these moves ETH out of the system; (1) is the only one that pays a wrong wallet and it is exactly the dishonest-list case the guardian window exists for. Not a defect against the stated trust model; recorded so the requester can keep the verifier checking that cumulativeBefore values are contiguous and sum to the pinned total.

      setUp of test/TombolaDraw.t.sol: prank(keeper) commit(Regular, now, ROUND, 1 ether, root over {leaf(alice,0,100e18), leaf(bob,0,100e18)}, 100e18) -> accepted.

      Warp past roundTime(ROUND); settle(id, SIG, alice, 0, 100e18, proofA) and settle(id, SIG, bob, 0, 100e18, proofB) are both valid for the same target; the keeper submits whichever it prefers.

      Expected per README: 'the winner's index is randomWord mod totalWeight' identifies one wallet; actual: two wallets qualify.

    • infoexpireCredit() returns an expired Mega-track prize to potRegular, moving ETH between the two potssrc/TombolaDraw.sol:274

      A prize reserved from potMega whose send failed is credited to the winner; if nobody collects it for CREDIT_EXPIRY, expireCredit() adds it to potRegular rather than back to the track it came from. The credit does not record its track (the Draw does, but expireCredit works per address, not per draw).

      README step 4 documents this ('returned to the regular pot'), so the code matches the docs and it is a design choice, but it is the one path in the contract where mega-pot ETH becomes regular-pot ETH, and the requester asked that any inter-pot movement be noted. solvent() holds throughout.

      Fix if unwanted: track the credit's Track (e.g. a mapping address => uint256 per track, or expire per draw id) and return it to the matching pot.

      setUp of test/TombolaDraw.t.sol with r = new RejectsEth(): fundMega 1 ether; prank(keeper) commit(Mega, now, ROUND, 1 ether, leaf(r,0,1e18), 1e18); warp past roundTime; prank(keeper) settle(id, SIG, r, 0, 1e18, []) -> unclaimed[r] == 1 ether, potMega == 0; warp +365 days; expireCredit(r) -> potRegular == 1 ether, potMega == 0. Expected (if pots are meant to be separate): potMega == 1 ether; actual: the mega prize now funds regular draws.

    • infoCommit-before-randomness and the guardian's cancel window rest on the sequencer's block.timestamp tracking wall-clock time within COMMIT_DELAYsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:149

      drand publishes round r at wall-clock roundTime(r). The contract compares that to block.timestamp, which on an Arbitrum Orbit chain (Robinhood Chain) is set by the sequencer and only loosely bounded by the inbox (up to 24 h behind / 1 h ahead of L1 time).

      If the sequencer's clock lagged real time by >= COMMIT_DELAY (600 s), commit() would accept a round whose signature is already public, and any lag at all gives the guardian a window in which the signature is public off chain while block.timestamp < roundTime still permits cancel(), i.e. a veto of a known outcome.

      Measured during this review: the chain's latest block timestamp equalled wall-clock time to the second, and the beacon's randomness(round) != 0 check (line 151) additionally refuses any round already proven on chain, so there is no present failing state. Recorded as a chain-level trust assumption that the README's 'before anyone could know it' guarantee depends on, not as a defect; a tighter COMMIT_DELAY would not change it and a looser one only widens the margin.

      State: sequencer block.timestamp = wall clock - 600 s or more.

      Keeper commit(track, snapshotTime=block.timestamp, round r with roundTime(r) = block.timestamp + 600 = wall clock, amount, root, total) passes both RoundTooEarly checks although drand's signature for r is already published.

      Expected: refused; actual: accepted.

      Not reproducible on the live chain today (timestamp lag observed: 0 s).

    • infoREADME and DESIGN still describe the pre-pin interface in three places (root supplied at settle, round committed before the snapshot)README.md:12

      The commit message for bb37d2c closes the previous audit's Info 10 with 'README and DESIGN match the shipped interface'.

      Three sentences still describe the previous design in which the root was supplied at settle and the commit preceded the snapshot: README line 12 (table row: settle takes 'the Merkle root of the published eligibility list'; it now takes only the winner's leaf and proof, the root is pinned by commit); DESIGN.md line 17 ('the round committed on chain before the snapshot'; the snapshot is now taken first and must be at most 30 minutes before the commit); DESIGN.md lines 35-36 (settle 'records the winner, the Merkle root of the published snapshot'; the root is recorded at commit).

      DESIGN.md also calls the verifier verify-drop.mjs where README calls it verify-draw.mjs. Everything else checked in the README's 'How a draw works' and 'Trust model' sections matches the code, except the keeper-veto statement covered by the Medium finding.

      Fix: reword the three sentences to the pinned-at-commit flow.

      Compare README.md:12 and DESIGN.md:17, 35-36 against TombolaDraw.commit (line 140: root and totalWeight parameters, snapshotTime <= block.timestamp at line 146) and TombolaDraw.settle (line 181: no root parameter). Expected: docs describe the shipped signatures; actual: they describe settle(id, signature, root, ...) and a commit that precedes the snapshot.

      Medium 4 (rollover/cancel veto): closed for rollover (line 215 refuses a non-empty list) and for the guardian (line 232-236 refuses cancel between roundTime and roundTime + 7 days); the keeper retains an equivalent veto through non-settlement, reported above as Medium. Low 5 (1-second lead): closed at line 149.

Info 10 (docs): mostly closed, three stale sentences remain (Info above).

      Also verified for this review: solvent() holds on every path exercised (commit, settle with paid or credited winner, rollover, both cancel windows, claim, redirectCredit, expireCredit, fundRegular/fundMega/receive); uint128 truncation in commit is prevented by the type(uint128).max bound at line 154; settle/rollover use only d.drandRound so no other round can be substituted; the double-hashed 96-byte leaf cannot collide with a 64-byte inner node, so an intermediate node or padded duplicate cannot be proven as a different leaf; root == 0 and EMPTY_ROOT misuse are refused at line 152; the splitter conserves every wei, cannot be re-entered through the escrow or the team wallet (lock at line 55-56, 67-68), never blocks the pots on a reverting team wallet (teamOwed), and its IPonsFeeEscrow interface matches the live escrow at 0xd3AF...Ac9e (claim() returns uint256, balanceOf(address) present, claim() reverts NoBalance only when the guarded balance is 0).

      The deployed TombolaDraw and TombolaSplitter on chain 4663 reference each other, the documented beacon, escrow and team wallet.

      Verification only: forge test (24 passing) plus the scratch tests under test/scratch/; on-chain reads of the deployed contracts' immutables and an eth_call of escrow.claim() with a state override. No failing input; this entry records what was confirmed closed and sound.

    The Low finding's reproduction is confirmed (the mega credit lands in potRegular), the original 24 tests still pass, and the only files I created are .imd-findings.json and the scratch tests. The review is complete.

    Outcome

    The findings file holds 6 entries: 2 Medium (both with failing Foundry proofs under test/scratch/), 1 Low, 3 Info. No Critical or High. All 10 findings of the previous audit are closed as described in the commit, with one caveat on Medium 4 below.

    Exploitable, or a stated guarantee the code does not enforce

    • Medium, keeper veto by omission at src/TombolaDraw.sol:185. Once the round is public the outcome is fully determined on chain, but only the keeper may call settle. A keeper that dislikes the winner never settles, waits the 7 days, anyone cancels, the prize returns to the pot, and it re-commits. The README claims the keeper cannot choose "whether to accept" a known outcome. This is the residue of the previous audit's Medium 4. Fix: let anyone settle after the round's time, since every input is already verified on chain.
    • Medium, rotation can be blocked by a leaked key at src/TombolaDraw.sol:247. setKeeper reverts while a draw is open, and the keeper can open one with 1 wei at any time. A bot holding the leaked key re-commits a self-naming list after every guardian cancel, so the guardian must win every 10-minute race forever and can never revoke the key. One missed window drains the committed pot. Fix: allow setKeeper with open draws, or have it cancel draws whose round is still ahead.
    • Low, pot mixing at src/TombolaDraw.sol:274. An uncollected Mega-track credit expires into the regular pot. Confirmed with a scratch test. Documented in the README, but it contradicts the "back into its pot" rule.

    Informational, accepted keeper trust or dependency risk

    • COMMIT_DELAY versus sequencer clock skew: measured live lag is 1 s, so the 10-minute margin holds today.
    • The contract cannot detect overlapping ranges, an inflated totalWeight, or an unpublished list. These are the keeper's trust, caught only in the guardian's window.
    • harvest reverts entirely if the escrow's claim ever reverts with a non-zero balance. The live escrow returns a uint256 and only reverts on a zero balance, which the guard covers.

    Verified clean: solvency across every path including the uint128 bound, settle and rollover bound to the committed round, Merkle leaf domain separation, BLS signature canonicality (coordinates reduced, so randomness is deterministic), re-entrancy on all ETH-moving paths, cancel windows and re-cancel, zero guardian refused, and the deployed bytecode at the mainnet address matches this commit.

    • mediumKeeper can veto a publicly known outcome by withholding settle(); the 7-day abandon cancel then returns the prize to the pot for a re-rollsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:185

      After the committed drand round is published the outcome is completely determined on chain: root and totalWeight are pinned, the randomness is drand's (anyone may call beacon.prove), and settle() verifies the leaf and the range itself. Yet settle() is gated to the keeper (line 185).

      A keeper that dislikes the drawn wallet simply never calls settle(); nobody else can (guardian included), nothing can be cancelled until roundTime + ABANDON_AFTER, and then cancel(id) by anyone returns the full prize to the pot (lines 234-239), after which the keeper commits again with the same amount.

      The README's trust model states the contract enforces that the keeper can choose 'neither which outcome a round will give nor, once it is known, whether to accept it'; the code enforces only the first half.

      Economics: with a friendly wallet holding share p of totalWeight, a keeper (or a leaked key) repeats commit -> wait -> abandon until that wallet wins; each failed attempt costs 7 days of lock on the committed amount and nothing else, and the legitimate winner of every discarded round loses a prize of amount ETH. The previous audit's Medium 4 closed the rollover/cancel veto; this residual veto-by-omission remains and is the reason that fix is incomplete.

      Fix: make settle() permissionless once beacon.roundTime(d.drandRound) <= block.timestamp (every input is already verified on chain; the leaf and proof are in the published list), or at least allow the guardian to settle. Keep rollover keeper-only or open it the same way; nothing in it depends on the caller.

      setUp of test/TombolaDraw.t.sol.

      1. _fund(1 ether); keeper commits a one-leaf list (winner, 0, 1e18), totalWeight 1e18, amount 1 ether, to ROUND.

      2. warp to roundTime(ROUND)+1; anyone calls beacon.prove(ROUND, SIG): target = word % 1e18 is necessarily in [0, 1e18), so winner is the only possible outcome.

      3. winner (or guardian) calls draw.settle(id, "", winner, 0, 1e18, []) -> expected: winner receives 1 ether; actual: revert NotKeeper().

      4. warp to roundTime(ROUND)+7 days; anyone calls cancel(id) -> potRegular == 1 ether, winner.balance == 0, keeper may commit again.

      Proof file test/scratch/KeeperVeto.t.sol (2 tests, both fail with NotKeeper today).

    • mediumA leaked keeper key can block setKeeper() forever by re-committing after every guardian cancel (TrackBusy gate), so the documented rotation does not revoke itsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:247

      setKeeper() refuses to run while any draw is open (line 247), and only the current keeper decides when a draw is open: commit() needs just 1 wei in a pot (anyone can top a pot up through receive()/fundRegular()/fundMega()) and a round 10 minutes ahead. The README names rotation as the answer to a leaked hot key ('A leaked keeper key can commit a dishonest list; the guardian's window and a rotation are the answer').

      Against an attacker who holds the key and runs a bot this does not work: the attacker commits a one-leaf list naming itself with amount = the whole pot and the minimum lead (10 minutes); if the guardian cancels inside the window, the bot re-commits in the next block (Robinhood Chain blocks are sub-second; the guardian is a cold wallet that signs cancel and setKeeper as separate transactions), so setKeeper() keeps reverting TrackBusy; if the guardian misses one 10-minute window the attacker settles and takes the whole committed pot (settle() accepts any winner in the pinned list; the attacker's leaf is the only one).

      The guardian must win every race, forever, with no way to end it; the honest keeper can never be reinstated and the pots are frozen for honest draws meanwhile.

      Impact: loss of the full pot (potRegular + potMega at the time) on the first missed window, and permanent denial of rotation until then.

      Fix: let setKeeper() run regardless of open draws (the new keeper can settle them from the published list, and the guardian can still cancel before the round), or have setKeeper() cancel open draws whose round is still in the future; either removes the keeper's say over its own revocation.

      setUp of test/TombolaDraw.t.sol with 10 ether in potRegular.

      1. keeper (leaked key) commits (Regular, now, ROUND, 10 ether, root = leaf(attacker, 0, 1), totalWeight 1).

      2. guardian cancels id 0 in the window.

      3. same block, keeper commits again with the same arguments.

      4. guardian calls setKeeper(next) -> expected: keeper == next; actual: revert TrackBusy().

      Variant: attacker funds potMega with 1 wei via fundMega(), keeper commits (Mega, now, ROUND, 1 wei, ...) -> setKeeper reverts TrackBusy as well.

      Proof file test/scratch/KeeperRotation.t.sol (2 tests, both fail with TrackBusy today).

    • lowexpireCredit() returns an uncollected Mega-track prize to the regular pot, moving ETH between trackssrc/TombolaDraw.sol:274

      A failed payout is credited without remembering the draw's track; expireCredit() unconditionally adds the credit to potRegular (line 274). A Mega prize (20% share) whose winner is a non-receiving contract and never calls claim/redirectCredit therefore becomes regular-pot money after CREDIT_EXPIRY, and anyone can trigger that at the first second.

      This contradicts the stated rule that ETH only moves 'back into a pot on rollover/cancel' (its own pot) and the 7333/2000 split, though the README does document 'returned to the regular pot'. No ETH leaves the contract and solvent() holds, so impact is limited to the mega pot shrinking by the credit amount.

      Fix: record the track alongside the credit (or per-draw) and return it to that pot, or document it as intended and drop the 'back into a pot' phrasing.

      setUp of test/TombolaDraw.t.sol.

      1. draw.fundMega{value: 1 ether}(); keeper commits (Mega, now, ROUND, 1 ether, root = leaf(RejectsEth r, 0, 1e18), 1e18).

      2. warp roundTime+1; keeper settles with r as winner -> send fails, unclaimed[r] == 1 ether, potMega == 0.

      3. warp +365 days; anyone calls expireCredit(r) -> expected: potMega == 1 ether; actual: potRegular == 1 ether, potMega == 0.

    • infoCOMMIT_DELAY's commit-before-randomness guarantee relies on the sequencer's block.timestamp being within 10 minutes of real timesrc/TombolaDraw.sol:149

      The only thing that stops a commit to a round whose signature already exists is block.timestamp + COMMIT_DELAY <= roundTime (line 149) plus the on-chain randomness(round) != 0 check (line 151), which only catches rounds somebody has already proven on this chain. drand evmnet publishes every 3 s, so a sequencer clock that lags real time by >= 600 s would let the keeper commit to a round whose signature is public and choose snapshotTime (30-minute range) to steer the winner.

      Measured live on Robinhood Chain (chain 4663, block 93714946) the lag is 1 s, and Arbitrum-Nitro-style sequencers normally stay within seconds, so this is accepted risk rather than a defect; it is recorded because the brief asked for the COMMIT_DELAY versus clock-skew analysis. The 1-second-lead and the roundTime arithmetic are otherwise closed: roundTime(round) = GENESIS + (round-1)*3 reverts for round 0, and MAX_LEAD bounds large rounds.

      Nothing to change unless the chain's timestamp policy changes; a larger COMMIT_DELAY would widen the margin at the cost of the guardian's window.

      State: block.timestamp == realTime - 600 (or more). keeper calls commit(track, snapshotTime = block.timestamp, round = roundAt(block.timestamp + 600), ...) -> accepted (roundTime == block.timestamp + 600), although drand already published that round in real time. Not reproducible in Foundry beyond vm.warp; measured live skew is 1 s.

    • infoAccepted keeper trust: the contract cannot check that the pinned list is complete, non-overlapping, or that totalWeight equals the sum of weightssrc/TombolaDraw.sol:152

      Informational, by the stated trust model. commit() only checks the root/totalWeight pairing (line 152); settle() checks one leaf against the root and that the target falls inside that leaf's range.

      So a dishonest list is still accepted on chain and the keeper's only limit is the guardian's commit-to-round window: (a) overlapping ranges let the keeper choose between two winners after the randomness is known; (b) totalWeight larger than the sum of weights makes some targets unsettleable (the prize is locked until roundTime + 7 days, then returned); (c) a list that omits holders or inflates weights; (d) a root the keeper never publishes, which nobody can verify.

      All are detectable off chain from the Committed event and the published list, and all can be cancelled by the guardian before the round. Nothing to fix in the contract; the keeper's publication of the list before the round should be treated as part of the protocol (verifiers should refuse an unpublished list, and the guardian should cancel any draw whose list is not public well before roundTime).

      Example (a): keeper commits root over leaves (alice, 0, 400e18) and (bob, 0, 400e18), totalWeight 400e18.

      After the round, any target in [0, 400e18) lies in both ranges, so settle(id, sig, alice, 0, 400e18, proofAlice) and settle(id, sig, bob, 0, 400e18, proofBob) both pass BadWinner/BadProof; the keeper picks.

      Expected per the README: the list determines a single winner; actual: the contract accepts either leaf.

    • infoharvest() cannot split ETH already in the splitter if the Pons escrow's claim() reverts while balanceOf() is non-zerosrc/TombolaSplitter.sol:58

      Dependency-failure note. harvest() calls escrow.claim() whenever escrow.balanceOf(splitter) > 0 and has no fallback (line 58); if the escrow ever reverts on claim() (a pause, an upgrade, a changed revert rule) harvest() reverts as a whole, so even ETH that is already sitting in the splitter (sent directly, or from an earlier partial state) can't reach the pots or the team until the escrow is fixed.

      The live escrow (0xd3AF...Ac9e) returns uint256 from claim() and reverts NoBalance only when the balance is 0, which the balanceOf guard already covers, so today this is not reachable; it is listed because the splitter is immutable and bound to that escrow forever. A try/catch around the claim (distribute what is here even when the claim fails) would remove the coupling.

      State: escrow.balanceOf(splitter) > 0 and escrow.claim() reverts for any reason. Anyone calls splitter.harvest() -> expected: at least the splitter's own balance is distributed; actual: the whole call reverts and nothing is distributed.

  5. Audit flowAgent #326found 2 medium, 2 low, 2 info

    The review is complete. Findings are in .imd-findings.json with six entries, three of them carrying Foundry proofs that fail on the current code.

    Re-audit confirmation. All ten findings of job 42b4b3b5 are closed in this commit. The root and total weight are pinned at commit and settle only proves the leaf. The round is bounded to a day ahead, must be 10 minutes after both snapshot and commit block, and the snapshot may be at most 30 minutes old. Rollover needs a draw pinned as empty, cancel is refused between the round's time and seven days later, the zero guardian is refused, the draw and splitter are refused as winners, and credits can be redirected or expired. The deployed TombolaDraw and TombolaSplitter on Robinhood Chain reference each other, the beacon at 0xaf4f...9A0E, and the Pons escrow, whose bytecode carries both selectors the splitter uses.

    What the changes introduced or left open:

    • Medium, keeper veto by sitting out. settle and rollover are keeper-only although every input they check is already pinned on chain or verified by the beacon. A keeper that dislikes the proven winner simply never settles, and after seven days anyone, including the keeper, cancels the draw and the prize returns to the pot for a re-roll. The README claims the keeper cannot refuse a known outcome. Proof test fails with NotKeeper.
    • Medium, rotation blocked by a leaked key. setKeeper requires idle tracks, the on-chain guardian is an EOA, and the key holder re-commits 1 wei between the guardian's cancel and its rotation. The documented recovery from a key leak does not work and the guardian must cancel every dishonest draw within 10 minutes forever. Proof test fails with TrackBusy.
    • Low, mega prize crosses into the regular pot. expireCredit always returns to the regular pot. Proof test shows a 1 ETH mega prize ending up in potRegular.
    • Low, no clock-skew margin on guardian cancel. Cancel is allowed in a block stamped one second before the round, when drand has already published.
    • Info. README line 12 and three DESIGN.md passages still describe settle taking the root and the snapshot being built after the round. A second info entry lists the accepted keeper-trust list shapes: gapped totals as a free re-roll, overlapping ranges, and the keeper listing itself.

    Clean areas. Pot accounting stays solvent across every path, the uint128 bound is explicit, the leaf is double-hashed so intermediate nodes cannot be passed as leaves, re-entrancy is covered on all payout paths, and the splitter never blocks the pots on a broken team wallet. Scratch tests live under test/scratch/ and nothing else in the tree was changed.

    • mediumsettle()/rollover() are keeper-only, so the keeper can veto a known outcome by sitting out until the 7-day cancel (README claims it cannot)src/TombolaDraw.sol:185

      README.md (Trust model, line 88-90) states the keeper 'can choose when to commit ... but neither which outcome a round will give nor, once it is known, whether to accept it'.

      The code does not enforce the second half. settle() (line 185) and rollover() (line 213) are gated on msg.sender == keeper, while every input they check is already fixed on chain or verifiable by anyone: the pinned root and totalWeight (commit), the committed drandRound, drand's signature (beacon.prove verifies BLS and is permissionless), the leaf and the modulus check. The only party who can turn a known random word into a payout is the keeper.

      If the keeper dislikes the proven winner it simply does not call settle(); once block.timestamp >= roundTime + ABANDON_AFTER anyone, including the keeper itself, calls cancel(id) (line 229-241) and the full prize goes back to the pot, after which the keeper re-commits to a fresh round. The track is blocked for 7 days per re-roll, but each re-roll is free and repeatable, so a keeper (or a leaked keeper key) can re-draw until a wallet it prefers wins.

      The guardian cannot help: cancel is also refused to the guardian after roundTime, and setKeeper() needs idle tracks.

      Impact: the proven winner of a draw of amount wei receives nothing; the ETH stays in the pot under the keeper's choice.

      Fix: drop the keeper check from settle() and rollover(), matching the abandon path of cancel(), which is already permissionless. Everything settle() needs is public; a permissionless settle costs no trust and lets the winner or any verifier finalise. If the keeper must stay the normal settler, add a window: keeper-only for e.g. 1 hour after roundTime, then anyone.

      setUp of test/TombolaDraw.t.sol. _fund(1 ether); id = _commit(1 ether) (honest 3-wallet list, total 400e18); vm.warp(beacon.roundTime(ROUND)+1); compute idx = winner of keccak256(abi.encode(keccak256(SIG), id)) % 400e18; vm.prank(winner); draw.settle(id, SIG, winner, cum[idx], w[idx], proof) -> reverts NotKeeper (expected: the proven winner is paid 1 ether). Then vm.warp(roundTime + 7 days); vm.prank(keeper); draw.cancel(id) succeeds: potRegular == 1 ether, winner.balance == 0, getDraw(id).cancelled == true; the keeper commits again on the same track. test/scratch/ProofSettlePermissionless.t.sol fails with NotKeeper on this code.

    • mediumA leaked keeper key can keep setKeeper() reverting forever: it re-commits 1 wei between the guardian's cancel and rotationsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:247

      README.md line 90-91 names the guardian's cancel window and a keeper rotation as 'the answer' to a leaked keeper key. setKeeper() (line 244-250) refuses to rotate while either track has an open draw. cancel() clears activeDraw, but the guardian on Robinhood Chain (0x4c6B36b84F14E3111c732136bb38803E82bBCC46, no code) is an EOA, so cancel(id) and setKeeper(next) are two transactions.

      The holder of the leaked key streams commit(track, now, roundAt(now+10 min), 1 wei, anyRoot, 1) transactions; the first one sequenced after the guardian's cancel re-opens the track (commit only needs 1 wei of pot and a round 10 minutes ahead, lines 147-154) and the guardian's setKeeper reverts TrackBusy. The attacker can do this on both tracks and repeat indefinitely at the cost of gas; the guardian must win a race it cannot win atomically.

      Meanwhile each attacker draw can carry amount = the whole pot with a one-leaf list (attacker, 0, 1), so the guardian must also cancel every one of them within the 10-minute COMMIT_DELAY window; the first one it misses pays the entire pot of that track (potRegular or potMega in wei) to the attacker at settle.

      Impact: the documented recovery from a key leak does not work; the pots are at the mercy of the guardian never missing a 10-minute window, forever.

      Fix: let setKeeper() succeed while draws are open (the open draws are fully pinned, the new keeper can settle or the guardian can cancel them), or add a guardian-only cancelAndRotate(id, newKeeper), or let setKeeper() cancel the open draws itself.

      setUp of test/TombolaDraw.t.sol. _fund(1 ether).

      As keeper: commit(Regular, now, ROUND, 1 wei, _root(), 400e18) -> id.

      As guardian: cancel(id) (ok, activeDraw cleared).

      As keeper, in the same or next block: commit(Regular, now, ROUND, 1 wei, _root(), 400e18) again (ok).

      As guardian: setKeeper(next) -> reverts TrackBusy.

      Expected: the guardian can rotate a compromised keeper. test/scratch/ProofRotateLeakedKeeper.t.sol fails with TrackBusy on this code.

    • lowexpireCredit() moves a mega-track prize into the regular pot: ETH crosses potssrc/TombolaDraw.sol:274

      The credit ledger (unclaimed, creditedAt) does not remember which track a prize came from, and expireCredit() (line 271-277) always adds the expired amount to potRegular. A mega prize whose send failed (a contract winner, or a winner needing more than the 50,000 gas stipend) that nobody collects for CREDIT_EXPIRY therefore leaves the mega pot's accounting for good and is paid out in future regular draws. Anyone may trigger it.

      The trust model's item (4) says ETH goes 'back into a pot on rollover/cancel', and the README documents the regular pot as the destination, so this is a documented design choice, but it is a path that moves ETH between pots, which the brief asks to be flagged.

      Impact: up to the full mega prize amount in wei is redistributed from mega-draw participants to regular-draw participants.

      Fix: store the track with the credit (e.g. mapping(address => Track) creditTrack, or credit per draw id) and return to that pot, or make expireCredit() take the draw id and use d.track.

    • lowGuardian cancel has no clock-skew margin: cancel is allowed in a block timestamped roundTime - 1 while drand has already published the roundsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:232

      The guardian's veto is meant to end when 'the outcome is public'. The code uses block.timestamp < beacon.roundTime(round) as the test (line 231-233). drand evmnet publishes round r at exactly roundTime(r) wall-clock time; the L2 block timestamp is set by the sequencer and may lag wall-clock by seconds (Arbitrum-family chains, which Robinhood Chain is, allow the sequencer timestamp to trail real time).

      In that lag the guardian (or a guardian colluding with the keeper) can read drand's signature, compute the winner off chain, and still cancel: the known outcome is vetoed and the prize returns to the pot. The previous audit's 'one-second lead' Low was closed on the commit side by requiring roundTime >= block.timestamp + COMMIT_DELAY; the symmetric margin is missing on the cancel side.

      The guardian is trusted, so this is low, but it is the one guard that is meant to bind the guardian.

      Fix: require block.timestamp + CANCEL_MARGIN < roundTime for the guardian path (a minute is plenty), so no block the sequencer can plausibly stamp overlaps drand's publication.

      setUp of test/TombolaDraw.t.sol. _fund(1 ether); id = _commit(1 ether); vm.warp(beacon.roundTime(ROUND) - 1); beacon.isValid(ROUND, SIG) is true (the fixture signature for ROUND exists); vm.prank(guardian); draw.cancel(id) succeeds and getDraw(id).cancelled == true. Expected: a cancel this close to the round's publication is refused. test/scratch/Audit.t.sol::test_guardianCancelsOneSecondBeforeTheRound passes on this code, demonstrating the state.

    • infoREADME table and DESIGN.md still describe settle() taking and pinning the Merkle root, and the snapshot after the roundREADME.md:12

      The code pins root and totalWeight at commit() and settle() takes only the winner's leaf (src/TombolaDraw.sol lines 140 and 181). README.md line 12 says the keeper 'settles it with drand's signature, the Merkle root of the published eligibility list and the winner's leaf proof'.

      DESIGN.md line 17 says 'the round committed on chain before the snapshot' (the snapshot now precedes the commit, README step 2); DESIGN.md lines 33-36 say settle() 'records the winner, the Merkle root of the published snapshot (so the list that produced the winner is pinned on chain)'; DESIGN.md lines 49-52 say the keeper builds and publishes the snapshot 'after the drand round is published' and then settles, which is exactly the flow the re-audit fix removed.

      The audit request text also still lists settle(id, drandSignature, root, totalWeight, ...). A verifier following DESIGN.md would accept a list published after the round.

      Fix: update the three DESIGN.md passages and the README table row to the commit-pins-list flow (README steps 2-4 are already correct).

      Compare README.md line 12 and DESIGN.md lines 17, 33-36, 49-52 with src/TombolaDraw.sol: settle(uint256,bytes,address,uint256,uint256,bytes32[]) has no root or totalWeight parameter; commit(...) at line 140 takes both.

    • infoAccepted keeper trust: list shapes the contract cannot reject (gapped totalWeight gives a free re-roll, overlapping ranges let the keeper choose, keeper may list itself)src/TombolaDraw.sol:194

      Informational, per the brief's trust model: these need a dishonest list and are visible to anyone recomputing the list in the commit-to-round window.

      1. Gapped total: commit with totalWeight = 2 * (sum of weights). If target = randomWord % totalWeight lands in the unlisted half, no leaf satisfies line 198, the draw cannot be settled or rolled over (totalWeight != 0, line 215), and after ABANDON_AFTER it is cancelled and the prize returns to the pot: a 50% re-roll chance per draw without any ETH leaving.
      2. Overlapping ranges: two leaves (A, 0, 100) and (B, 0, 100) with totalWeight 100 both satisfy lines 194-198 for any target, so the keeper picks A or B after the round.
      3. The keeper's own wallet, the guardian or the team wallet may be a leaf; only address(0), the draw and the splitter are refused (line 188).
      4. The 10-minute COMMIT_DELAY is also the whole reaction window for a cold-wallet guardian; a dishonest list on both tracks must be cancelled twice within it. None of these is a contract defect under the stated trust model; they bound what the guardian window has to catch. Hardening options if wanted: let settle() also take the neighbouring leaf to prove contiguity, and require the last leaf's cumulativeBefore + weight == totalWeight via a second proof at commit.

      (1) commit(Regular, now, ROUND, 1 ether, root of leaves (alice,0,100e18),(bob,100e18,250e18),(carol,350e18,50e18), 800e18): for any random word with word % 800e18 >= 400e18 every settle() reverts BadWinner, rollover() reverts WrongStage, and cancel() succeeds for anyone at roundTime + 7 days. (2) commit with root of leaves (alice,0,100),(bob,0,100), totalWeight 100: both settle(id, SIG, alice, 0, 100, proofA) and settle(id, SIG, bob, 0, 100, proofB) pass the checks at lines 194-198.

    The review is complete. The findings file holds 9 findings, all reproduced against this commit; no source files were changed and the only additions are the gitignored findings file and my scratch tests.

    What I found

    • Medium, keeper veto of a known outcome at src/TombolaDraw.sol:185. Once the round is public, every settle input is verified on chain, yet only the keeper may call settle or rollover. A keeper that dislikes the winner stays silent, and after 7 days anyone's cancel returns the prize for a re-roll. The README claims the contract prevents exactly this. Four specialist duplicates merged. Proof attached: fails with NotKeeper now, passes once settle is permissionless.
    • Medium, rotation can be blocked at src/TombolaDraw.sol:247. setKeeper refuses while a draw is open, and a leaked key re-commits with 1 wei right after each guardian cancel. The on-chain guardian is an EOA, so cancel and rotate cannot be atomic. Four duplicates merged. Proof attached: fails with TrackBusy now, passes once rotation no longer needs idle tracks.
    • Low, mega credits expire into the regular pot at line 274. Any third party can move an uncollected mega prize into the regular pot after a year. Documented in the README, but it is the one inter-pot path the brief asked to be flagged.
    • Low, no clock-skew margin on the guardian cancel at line 232. A cancel in a block stamped one second before the round is accepted while drand's signature is already verifiable. The commit side got this margin in the last fix; the cancel side did not.
    • Info, five entries. Accepted keeper trust over list shapes, the sequencer-clock assumption behind COMMIT_DELAY, four stale passages in README and DESIGN.md describing the pre-pin flow, the splitter's hard coupling to the escrow's claim, and the closure check confirming all ten prior findings are addressed with the two residuals above.

    How I verified it

    • The 24 project tests pass. All six specialist proof tests fail for their stated reason, and all pass on a patched copy outside the tree.
    • My own scratch suite reproduces the expireCredit move, the one-second cancel, the end-to-end re-roll, overlapping leaves, the reverting escrow, and the team-wallet re-entry hold.
    • On Robinhood Chain the deployed draw's keeper, guardian, splitter and beacon match the documentation, both keeper and guardian have no code, and the latest block was stamped one second behind wall-clock.

    Dropped or merged. Nothing was dropped as unreproducible; every specialist finding reproduced. Nineteen specialist entries collapsed into nine after merging duplicates.

    • mediumKeeper can veto a publicly known outcome: settle()/rollover() are keeper-only and the 7-day abandon cancel re-rolls a settleable prizesrc/TombolaDraw.sol:185

      2. vm.warp(beacon.roundTime(ROUND) + 1); anyone may call beacon.prove(ROUND, SIG), the outcome is fixed.

      3. vm.prank(alice); draw.settle(id, SIG, alice, 0, 1e18, []) -> expected: alice receives 1 ether; actual: revert NotKeeper().

      The same call from the guardian reverts NotKeeper().

      2. vm.warp(roundTime + 7 days); vm.prank(keeper); draw.cancel(id) -> succeeds: potRegular == 1 ether, alice.balance == 0, getDraw(id).cancelled == true.

      3. keeper commit(Regular, now, roundAt(now + 11 min), 1 ether, leaf(bob, 0, 1e18), 1e18) -> succeeds: the same prize is re-drawn. test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_keeperReRollsAKnownOutcome runs steps 1-6 and passes on this code; the attached proof fails with NotKeeper() on this code and passes once settle() is permissionless after the round.

    • mediumsetKeeper() is blocked by any open draw, so a leaked keeper key denies its own rotation by re-committing after every guardian cancelsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:247

    • lowexpireCredit() returns an uncollected Mega-track prize to the regular pot: anyone can move ETH between potssrc/TombolaDraw.sol:274

      Fix: require block.timestamp + CANCEL_MARGIN < roundTime for the guardian path (one minute is plenty), so no block the sequencer can plausibly stamp overlaps drand's publication.

      setUp of test/TombolaDraw.t.sol. _fund(1 ether); id = _commit(1 ether); vm.warp(beacon.roundTime(ROUND) - 1); beacon.isValid(ROUND, SIG) == true (the real signature exists and verifies); vm.prank(guardian); draw.cancel(id) -> succeeds, getDraw(id).cancelled == true, potRegular == 1 ether. Expected: a cancel inside the sequencer's clock tolerance of the round's publication is refused. test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_guardianCancelsOneSecondBeforeTheRound passes on this code, showing the state.

    • infoAccepted keeper trust: overlapping, gapped or falsely empty lists are accepted on chain; the keeper may pick between two winners or force a free re-rollsrc/TombolaDraw.sol:198

Hardening options if wanted: let settle() also take the neighbouring leaf to prove contiguity, and prove the last leaf's cumulativeBefore + weight == totalWeight at commit.

      setUp of test/TombolaDraw.t.sol. prank(keeper): commit(Regular, now, ROUND, 1 ether, root over {leaf(alice,0,100e18), leaf(bob,0,100e18)}, 100e18) -> accepted. vm.warp(roundTime(ROUND) + 1). settle(id, SIG, alice, 0, 100e18, [leafBob]) pays alice 1 ether; from the same state settle(id, SIG, bob, 0, 100e18, [leafAlice]) pays bob 1 ether. test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_overlappingRangesLetTheKeeperChoose shows both succeed (vm.snapshotState between them). Expected per README: the list identifies one winner; actual: two leaves qualify and the keeper chooses.

    • infoCommit-before-randomness rests on the sequencer's block.timestamp being within COMMIT_DELAY (10 min) of wall-clock timesrc/TombolaDraw.sol:149

    • infoREADME table and DESIGN.md still describe the pre-pin interface (root supplied at settle, list built after the round)README.md:12

    • infoharvest() reverts as a whole if the Pons escrow's claim() ever reverts while balanceOf() is non-zero, stranding ETH already in the splittersrc/TombolaSplitter.sol:58

A try/catch around the claim (distribute what is here even when the claim fails) would remove the coupling.

      test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_harvestBlockedByRevertingEscrow: a TombolaSplitter bound to an escrow whose balanceOf() returns 1 and whose claim() reverts, with 1 ether already in the splitter; harvest() -> expected: at least the splitter's own 1 ether is distributed; actual: the whole call reverts with the escrow's reason and nothing is distributed.

    • infoRe-audit closure check: all ten findings of job 42b4b3b5 are closed in this commit, with the two residuals reported abovesrc/TombolaDraw.sol:152

      High 1 (totalWeight unbound at settle): closed; root and totalWeight are commit parameters (line 140), validated at line 152 and used as the modulus at line 197; test_settleRefusesTheWrongWinner covers it. Medium 2 (far-future round): closed by MAX_LEAD at line 150. Medium 3 (stale snapshot): closed by MAX_SNAPSHOT_AGE at line 146.
