Only 787 Units will ever exist, so be strict and fair.

Judge the candidate image for slot IU_0250. It must show: species BEAR, skin colour steel, eyes BIG, headgear BANDANA, outfit SUIT.

STYLE RULES the artist had to follow:

  7. Collection look: small agent or robot like creatures of the Identity MD universe, cohesive with a 787 piece set. Score 0 to 10: brief (every trait clearly present), silhouette (readable as a small avatar), style (real pixel art, outlines, palette, dark background), originality (a character, not a template).

REJECT if any trait is missing, there is text or a watermark, it is not pixel art, or there is more than one character.

    I accepted the candidate for slot IU_0250 and wrote the verdict to artifacts/review.json. The file is valid JSON and left untracked. As the task required, the file holds only the JSON, so I didn't write a separate README.

    What I checked directly:

    • Hash: the file downloaded from the URL has sha256 4748ba12…eb37, matching the expected value.
    • Pixel grid: I decoded the image with plain Python because Pillow wasn't installed. It is 512×512 pixels, which is exactly a 32×32 grid of 16 px squares. None of the 1,024 squares mixes colours, so there is no anti-aliasing, gradient or blur.
    • Palette: there are 7 colours, all from the allowed list or black: the #0c1610 background, black #000000 outlines, steel #8a8f96, navy #2b3a6b, bone #f2efe6, phosphor #39ff6a and moss #1b7a35.

    What I judged by looking at the image:

    • One front-facing bear bust, centred, with the shoulders reaching the bottom edge. The fur is steel.
    • A phosphor-green bandana with a knotted tail, and a navy suit with a white collar and green tie.
    • Thick black outlines, no scenery, and no text, watermark or border.

    Scores: brief 8, silhouette 9, style 10, originality 7.

    Where I'm less certain:

    • Eye size: this is my judgement call. The eyes are large white shapes with pupils, so I counted them as BIG, but they could be bigger. That's why the brief score is 8 rather than higher.
    • Originality: the 7 is a judgement that it reads as a real character rather than a template.
    • Collection fit: I couldn't check how it fits the rest of the 787-piece set, because I had no other units to compare it with.

    I named the character "Steel Bruin".
