explain like I’m 10 or in NBA or Fortnite terms why imd is going to take $fp / $imd is going to a billion $ mrktcap. In fact, give me 3 seperate explains, each one using one of those perspectives.
I've had $FP for years but almost forgot about it until I saw news of the crazy recent price action and don't know if I should hold or sell.

Your old $FP, today's $IMD, and the $1 billion question
Research date: 10 October 2026. Prices below are dated observations, not executable quotes. Dollars mean USD.
IMD has a plausible growth story, but the evidence does not establish that it will reach $1 billion. The bet is that useful AI work attracts paying customers, ecosystem activity creates demand for IMD, and that demand grows faster than holders sell. Supply reduction can help; it cannot manufacture customers. I would not use “a billion is inevitable” as a reason to keep an oversized position.
Here are your three explanations. Each is an analogy for the same conditional investment thesis, not a price prediction.
1. Like you're 10: the robot clubhouse
Imagine your old virtual-pet clubhouse starts building a workshop full of helpful robots. People can ask the robots to make things, and pay with the clubhouse's tokens. That's the idea behind the transition from Fren Pet to IMD: the official history connects FP to IMD, and the current docs describe paid work using IMD. Official token history, payment documentation.
Why someone could be bullish: if the robots make things people actually want, more people may need the tokens. Some tokens also get permanently removed under the pool's rules. Think of a popular arcade where more people want tickets while some tickets disappear. POOL4 mechanics.
What has to happen: the workshop needs customers who return because the work is useful—not merely people hoping to resell tickets. If the robots make unwanted projects, a smaller pile of tokens can still be worth less.
What “a billion” means: with an illustrative 7.1 million tokens, each would need to trade around $141 for their combined value to reach $1 billion. It does not mean the clubhouse has $1 billion in its bank account. Your question becomes: “Will enough people want what this workshop makes?”
2. In NBA terms: a prospect still has to win games
Picture the old FP project as a young team changing its identity and building a new offense. The AI workers are the roster, the task coordinator is the coach, and paying customers are ticket buyers. The project's explorer displays completed work and links to outputs: there is activity to inspect, not just a team logo. IMD explorer.
The bull case: good players deliver useful work; satisfied customers come back; more builders join; demand for the ecosystem grows. That is how an interesting prospect could become a championship contender.
The scouting warning: lots of practice shots are not playoff wins. Task counts are not profits, and an “accepted” submission is not proof that a customer found it valuable. Judge the team by repeat paying customers, reliable products, and economics after computing costs.
The token is also not a share certificate in an NBA franchise. This report establishes no legal ownership or dividend entitlement. A valuable network still needs a convincing connection between its success and token demand.
A billion-dollar valuation is the championship scenario. In the illustrative calculation below, it takes about a 17-fold price increase. You can believe the prospect is talented without betting money you cannot afford to lose on it winning the title.
3. In Fortnite terms: the creator ecosystem needs returning players
Imagine a creator ecosystem where AI squads build new maps and experiences. People pay to get things built, and community projects use a common token. IMD documents paid jobs, while its token page says Community Coins are priced in and backed by IMD. This is an analogy; IMD has no Fortnite affiliation established here. Work payments, Community Coin description.
The bull case: one great creation brings players; those players try other creations; more creators show up. If that keeps happening, the shared token could become more useful. Some supply is retired along the way. POOL4 mechanics.
The losing scenario: everyone comes for a launch-day reward, then leaves. Ten thousand empty maps do not make a healthy ecosystem. Likewise, speculative token launches alone do not prove lasting demand for AI work.
Think of $1 billion as the whole ecosystem becoming a huge hit, not an automatic reward for holding an early item. Unlike an ordinary game item, IMD is a volatile financial asset: buyers can vanish, software can fail, and selling can move the price against you. Keep your real-life essentials outside that bet.
What is actually supported?
Evidence labels: “documented” means a primary source says it; “observed” means a page displayed it; neither means independently audited. “Reported” identifies secondary journalism. “Inference” and “scenario” are this report's reasoning.
| Claim | Evidence and status | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| FP is connected to IMD | Documented: Fren Pet began on Base in August 2023, bridged to Ethereum in October 2025, and the timeline records FP → VIBE → IMD by May 2026. It describes one-for-one bridging across Base, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain. Official history | Your particular wallet token is authentic, or that you must migrate it. |
| There is a paid product | Documented and observed: docs list 0.5 IMD for opening a job. A direct capabilities response at 02:09 UTC on October 10 confirmed job.open at 500000000000000000 atomic units with 18 decimals, or 0.5 IMD. Official docs, live capabilities | A guaranteed successful result, sustainable margins, or large recurring revenue. |
| Work is being produced | Observed: the explorer showed 3,416 jobs in its All category and links to sites and repositories when accessed. Explorer | That every job was paid externally, profitable, secure, or useful. Counts and categories change. |
| The burn has a specific trigger | Documented: POOL4 trims inventory above its cap after sells. Of trimmed IMD, 85% goes toward burning, 4.5% to stakers, 6% to a bonding reserve and 4.5% to node reserves. Recovered ETH supports a bid below market; destruction finishes on Base. POOL4 docs, §§3–5 | An 85% tax on every sale, a guaranteed floor, or infinite buying power. |
| Customer demand started small | Reported historical snapshot: Bankless's September 25 analysis counted 115 paid orders, totaling 57.5 IMD, approximately $560 then. Bankless analysis | Today's revenue or a reliable annual run rate. This report did not independently reconstruct those orders. |
For your old holdings: the official Ethereum token address is 0xD34a99Bc0f67aE1bbd63C660e6d0b0dd03E263B7. That is an Ethereum identifier, not a Base address to paste into a migration. Your chain and contract were not supplied; no wallet-specific eligibility or bridge transaction has been verified. Match both chain and contract before acting. Official token page.
Recent price action and the billion-dollar arithmetic
Reported news: October 6 coverage attributed to Foresight/GMGN described a $59.17 million intraday market-cap peak, $52.18 million at reporting, and a 28.95% 24-hour rise. Those are historical quotes, not today's prices. October 6 report.
Observed October 10: DEX Screener's Ethereum IMD/ETH page displayed approximately $8.23, $34.1 million market cap, and $2.5 million liquidity. Its market-cap figure implies roughly 4.14 million tokens. Bankless's September 25 snapshot instead described roughly 7.1 million across chains. These denominators are not reconciled here; they must not be treated as comparable global valuations. DEX Screener market page, Bankless supply snapshot.
Calculated scenario: use 7.1 million tokens as an illustrative outstanding-supply assumption, not a verified October 10 circulating supply. At $8.23, that gives about $58.43 million. The table keeps that supply fixed:
| Hypothetical network valuation | Implied price | Relative to $8.23 |
|---|---|---|
| $10 million | $1.41 | 0.17×, about 83% lower |
| $100 million | $14.08 | 1.71× |
| $500 million | $70.42 | 8.56× |
| $1 billion | $140.85 | 17.11×, about 1,611% higher |
Formula: valuation ÷ supply = price. Further burns change the denominator: with 6 million tokens, $1 billion requires $166.67 each. Burning supply alone does not increase market cap; at unchanged price it reduces it. Price must rise enough to compensate.
For perspective, the documented 0.5-IMD job-opening price would equal approximately $70.42 at the $1-billion scenario price if the token fee stayed unchanged. That could discourage customers or require repricing. This is arithmetic, not a forecast of future fees. Fee documentation.
Market cap is last-price arithmetic, not money deposited or the amount holders can collectively withdraw. Liquidity is separate, and the displayed pool value does not tell us what price your whole position could sell for. Bridged representations and locked backing also must not be counted twice. A current global supply reconciliation remains necessary before presenting a precise live valuation.
Hold or sell: a decision framework for a longtime holder
My assessment: treat this as a speculative option on an emerging product, not an established billion-dollar business. The available evidence supports investigating and monitoring it; it does not justify certainty, a deadline, or an assigned probability of reaching $1 billion.
| Your situation | Reasonable response |
|---|---|
| You need the money, or a severe loss would affect essentials | Reducing exposure is more defensible than waiting for a target. |
| The rally made it a large share of your savings | Consider partial profit-taking and retaining only an amount you can lose. Holding versus selling need not be all-or-nothing. |
| It is already a small speculative position and you understand the risks | Holding can be consistent with that plan, provided you revisit the evidence rather than anchor on your old purchase price. |
I cannot choose a personal allocation without your position size, other assets, cash needs, cost basis and tax jurisdiction. Before selling, inspect an actual quote for your size, including fees and price impact; tax consequences depend on your circumstances. Before staking, distinguish more IMD units from positive dollar returns.
Material uncertainty: POOL4 documentation calls the system unaudited and describes owner escape hatches. Bankless reports staking ownership was renounced September 19; I did not verify current owner state or all contracts. Neither blanket admin safety nor unchanged admin powers is established. POOL4 trust/risk sections, Bankless.
What would strengthen the thesis: sustained repeat purchases from unrelated customers, independently useful outputs, revenue exceeding the real cost of compute, and a measurable route from product use to token demand. What would weaken it: activity dominated by internal tasks or speculative launches, disappearing customer retention, declining executable liquidity, or a material contract/bridge failure. These are evaluation criteria, not observed conclusions.
Unanswered questions: What are current paid orders and repeat-customer rates? Who ultimately bears compute costs? How much net value reaches ordinary token holders versus operators and reserves? What is today's unified circulating supply, holder concentration and market depth? Which contracts have independent audits, and which powers remain live? Without those answers, the billion-dollar story remains a bull case—not a valuation demonstrated by cash flows.
Research limits: primary product documentation and the explorer support technical descriptions; market pages and dated journalism support attributed snapshots. A direct DEX Screener API attempt returned HTTP 403, so the price observation comes from the retrieved web page, not a successful live API verification. No wallet access, trade, contract audit, full chain reconciliation or independent product-quality review was performed. Some pages are dynamic or cached. The supplied assignment came through the IdentityMD contributor network; this report is not an independent audit or certification of its sponsor.
