Publish this week's issue of CHANGELOG.md, an unofficial weekly newspaper about the IMD swarm (imd.fun) written for ordinary, non-technical readers. The repository already holds the paper's website and its earlier issues in issues/. Cover the most recent full week, Monday 00:00 to Sunday 24:00 UTC, before the moment this job runs.

PART 1, THE NEWS. Gather the week's facts from IMD's public API at https://api.imd.fun (send your own User-Agent header; the default ones are refused) and write them as issues/NNN.json, where NNN is the number of earlier issue files + 1, three digits. Write for readers who know nothing about code or crypto: plain English, short sentences, no jargon, no addresses, hashes or code words in the text. Say what each thing does and why a normal person might find it interesting. Never discuss token prices, market caps, trading or returns, and never suggest buying anything. Refer to workers only as 'Seat #N'. Leave out spam, offensive or copycat projects. An empty list is fine when nothing qualifies.

The issue file has exactly this shape: {"no": N, "date": "YYYY-MM-DD, the UTC date this job runs (the publication date)", "week": "the covered week, e.g. 5–11 October",

"lead": {"kicker", "headline", "standfirst", "body": [three short paragraphs], "visit": url or null, "source": url},

"new": [{"headline", "summary", "more", "visit", "source"}] up to 4, from GET /publications?sort=newest, /launches and /workflows,

"bugs": [{"severity": "Serious" or "Moderate", "headline", "summary", "source"}] up to 3, from GET /publications?type=audits and /jobs/:id/report.md, explained as what could have gone wrong for users,

"answers": [{"question", "summary", "source"}] up to 3, from GET /oracle/requests (status attested), each question rewritten in plain words; prefer questions about real projects, the IMD network or on-chain activity, and use general-knowledge trivia only when there is nothing else,

"numbers": {"accepted", "launches", "answers", "online"} as integers, from /steps/hourly, /jobs?since=, /launches, /oracle/requests and /health; 'online' is the number of connected workers,

"meter": {"level": 0-100, "verdict": one short line}, how busy the week was against the week before (50 = the same),

"leaders": [{"seat", "jobs"}] the 3 seats with the most accepted work during the covered week, counted from that week's jobs (GET /jobs?since= and GET /jobs/:id, accepted nodes and their seat),

"leadersScope": "this week", or "all time" only if a weekly count was impossible and /seats/records totals were used instead,

"watch": {"headline", "text", "visit"},

"glossary": the terms the issue uses, from: swarm, worker, schedule, audit, oracle, seat, launch}

'visit' links go to a project's own site (https://LABEL.sites.imd.fun) or explorer.imd.fun; 'source' links go to the api.imd.fun record that proves the entry. The lead is the most interesting story of the week. Every story must come from the covered week.

PART 2, THE PAPER. Then update the website so it includes every file in issues/, as described in the step.

Added Issue 004, published 26 October and covering 19–25 October. The static export, index and RSS now include all four editions. Existing design, code and earlier issues are preserved.

Build, typecheck and 107 browser-suite checks passed. Submission size: 5.81 MiB, below 8 MiB. Safari remains unverified because WebKit libraries are missing.

Results and design-review limitations are recorded in validation-004.md.

  3. Site content checkAgent #1905found 1 medium, 1 low

The review is complete. Nothing in the export must be withheld from hosting. The findings file holds two advisory items, and the working tree is otherwise untouched.

    What was read and verified

    • Every hosted file: dist/index.html, the JS bundle, the stylesheet, both feed copies, favicon, share image and notices. The source they came from was read too: src/App.tsx, src/main.tsx, src/types.ts, src/styles.css, vite.config.ts and the four scripts.
    • The committed bundle is a faithful build. I ran the build from the committed source and lockfile in a scratch directory, and every output file matched byte for byte.
    • The bundle contains React 19 and the paper only. The suspicious-looking tokens in it are React internals for keyboard events and dialog support. There is no wallet or provider code, no remote fetch, no storage, no iframes, no redirects and no obfuscation. The stylesheet has no external URLs.
    • The paper's own checks pass in the scratch copy: content schema, evidence arithmetic for issues 003 and 004, and TypeScript.
    • Every cited source record for issue 004 resolves on the live API and falls inside 19–25 October. The three audit summaries match the reports' judged dates and top findings. The three oracle answers match their attestations. The launch, answer and online totals match the live API.
    • The site names itself as unofficial and not affiliated with IMD in the footer. No impersonation, no financial claims, no price talk.

    Findings written to .imd-findings.json

    • Medium, misdirected feed links. Every item link in dist/feed.xml points at a hard-coded older address that today serves only issue 001. A reader following the No. 004 link from a feed reader lands on the old deployment and sees the "not in the archive" message. Fix by rebuilding with the real publication address set.
    • Low, undisclosed third-party font loading. The page requests fonts from Google on every visit. The README says so, but the page does not. Fallback fonts already work, so self-hosting or a footer note would close it.

Neither finding is critical or high, so the site can be hosted as it stands.

    • mediumRSS item links send readers to an older deployment that does not contain issue 004dist/feed.xml:11

Every in the hosted feed (dist/feed.xml and its hashed copy dist/assets/feed-BHU0HGvw.xml, lines 11, 24, 37 and 50) points at https://changelog-md-test.sites.imd.fun/#noN. That address is hard-coded as PAPER_SITE_URL in scripts/content.mjs line 110. At review time that host serves an earlier export of this paper whose archive holds only issue 001 (its masthead reads 'No. 1', 'Covering 28 September–4 October').

The export under review will be pinned under a different name, so a reader who subscribes to the feed from the new site and clicks the No. 004, 003 or 002 item lands on the old deployment, where App.tsx's hash handler (src/App.tsx line 204) finds no such edition and shows issue 001 with the status message 'That edition is not in the archive. Showing the latest issue.' The paper's content itself is intact; this is a misdirected link, advisory only, and does not block hosting.

      1. Open dist/feed.xml (or dist/assets/feed-BHU0HGvw.xml) and take the of the first : https://changelog-md-test.sites.imd.fun/#no4.
      2. Fetch that URL with a non-default User-Agent (curl -A 'review/1' https://changelog-md-test.sites.imd.fun/). Expected: the page for issue No. 004 (19–25 October). Actual: the served HTML's masthead contains 'No. 1' and 'Covering 28 September–4 October', and the only edition tab is 'No. 001'; in a browser the '#no4' hash triggers the 'That edition is not in the archive' announcement. Fix: rebuild with PAPER_SITE_URL set to the address the export will actually be served from, or make the feed links relative to the feed's own location.
    • lowPage loads fonts from Google on every visit without an on-page disclosuredist/index.html:20

dist/index.html lines 18–20 preconnect to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com and load a stylesheet from Google Fonts.

This is the only third-party request the hosted site makes: the 240 KB bundle dist/assets/index-DP2hiWA3.js is a byte-identical rebuild of src/ with React 19 (verified by running vite build from the committed source and lockfile and comparing), it contains no fetch to any remote host other than Vite's modulepreload polyfill, no wallet or provider calls, no storage, no iframes, no redirects and no obfuscated code, and dist/assets/index-By6aDAGJ.css has no url() or @import.

The font request still discloses each visitor's IP address and the page URL to Google. README.md line 31 states this, but the page itself does not, and fallback fonts are already declared so the site reads correctly without it.

Advisory: this is the 'tracking without disclosure' class in the hosting checklist, at the low end because it is a common font CDN rather than an analytics script.

Serve dist/ over HTTP and open index.html with the browser's network panel open.

Expected for a self-contained static paper: requests only to the site's own origin.

Actual: a request to https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?... followed by font file requests to https://fonts.gstatic.com, before any user interaction.

      Equivalent check without a browser: grep -n 'fonts.g' dist/index.html prints lines 18, 19 and 20.

Optional fix: self-host the three font families under dist/assets, or add a one-line note in the footer that the fonts are served by Google.

Saved both findings, exact source snippets, fixes, and reproductions in .imd-findings.json.

    • High — bug: fallback masthead overflows. Blocking Google Fonts produces document widths of 328px at 320px, 396px at 390px, and 800px at 768px in Chromium and WebKit. The masthead runs beyond the screen. Fit the fallback text to its container; a 10% size reduction removed every tested overflow. Source: src/styles.css:254.
    • Low — bug: Safari date formatting breaks hydration. Node renders “Monday, 26 October 2026”; WebKit renders it without the comma, producing React error #418. Assemble the date with explicit separators using formatToParts. Source: src/App.tsx:17.

The seven failed probe checks comprise six preserved-design exceptions and one false overlap warning from flowing newspaper columns. The brief’s “Keep the existing site’s design, layout and code exactly as they are” overrides those style recommendations.

The visual idea is a weekly community newspaper carried by warm newsprint, blackletter lettering, and ruled columns.

    Requirement checklist:

    1. Met — “most recent full week”: issues/004.json covers 19–25 October.
    2. Met — “Monday 00:00 to Sunday 24:00 UTC”: evidence uses 19 October inclusive to 26 October exclusive.
    3. Met — public API and “own User-Agent”: reporting trails identify API requests and their header.
    4. Met — issues/NNN.json, previous count + 1: three earlier issues precede 004.json.
    5. Met — publication date is job’s UTC date: date is 2026-10-26.
    6. Met — “plain English, short sentences”: issue 004 explains each project’s purpose and limits.
    7. Met — “no addresses, hashes or code words”: editorial text contains none.
    8. Met — no prices, trading, returns, or buying suggestions: issue 004’s text passes inspection.
    9. Met — workers identified as “Seat #N”: leaderboard uses numbered seats.
    10. Met — exclude spam, offensive and copycat projects: selected stories and exclusions support this.
    11. Met — “exactly this shape”: content validation confirms issue fields and nested structures.
    12. Met — lead has “three short paragraphs”: lead.body contains three.
    13. Met — lead is the principal weekly story: fencing trainer leads the issue.
    14. Met — “new … up to 4”: three entries, drawn from publication records.
    15. Met — “bugs … up to 3”: three entries use permitted severity labels.
    16. Met — audits explained as user consequences: summaries describe unfair prizes, blocked rewards, and delayed payments.
    17. Met — “answers … up to 3” and “status attested”: all three source records are attested.
    18. Met — questions rewritten plainly: displayed questions avoid technical wording.
    19. Met — prefer projects/network questions over trivia: all three concern IMD or actual projects.
    20. Met — integer figures from required endpoints: counts reconcile with fresh API reads. The accepted field retains the disclosed completed-job proxy.
    21. Met — online means connected workers: 1,042 is a dated health snapshot.
    22. Met — meter is 0–100; 50 means equal activity: level 17 compares 847 completed jobs with 2,469.
    23. Met — three leading seats from weekly accepted nodes: fresh job details confirm 19, 17 and 16 contributions.
    24. Met — weekly leadersScope: issue 004 specifies "this week".
    25. Met — watch structure: watch supplies headline, text and visit URL.
    26. Met — permitted glossary terms actually used: issue 004’s glossary stays within the supplied list.
    27. Met — project/explorer Visit destinations: all selected Visit URLs

    • highbug: the masthead overflows phone and tablet screens when Google Fonts is unavailablesrc/styles.css:254

Now: The viewport-based masthead size fits the downloaded gothic face but overflows with the existing serif fallback. The final letters of CHANGELOG.md are cut off at the screen edge and the whole document scrolls horizontally.

Change to: Fit the masthead to its available container width when the fallback is active, including both the <=37rem and <=53rem rules; reducing the current fallback font size by 10% fits the tested widths. Recalculate on resize/font loading and retain the existing sizes for the loaded gothic face. Do not hide or clip overflow.

Why: The paper must keep a readable gothic masthead and a working responsive layout; the review bar requires no horizontal scrolling at 320 or 390px. The supplied fallback must remain usable while the allowed external font request is unavailable.

      Widths: 320x844, 390x844, 768x844 and 848x844.

Serve dist/, open it in Chromium or WebKit, and block requests to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com before navigation.

Wait for document.fonts.ready, then compare document.documentElement.scrollWidth with clientWidth and inspect the masthead.

Actual widths are 328/320, 396/390, 800/768 and 880/848 respectively; the masthead extends off the right edge.

With Google Fonts loaded the same widths have no overflow.

Expected: the complete masthead fits and document width equals viewport width in either font state.

    • lowbug: Safari formats the publication date differently and forces a hydration recoverysrc/App.tsx:17

Now: The pre-rendered page uses Node’s en-GB date punctuation, while WebKit formats the same date without the comma after the weekday. React reports hydration error #418 and rebuilds the hydrated tree on a fresh visit.

Change to: Assemble the publication date from Intl.DateTimeFormat.formatToParts with explicit, identical separators on the server and client, for example "Monday, 26 October 2026"; retain the UTC time zone.

Why: The build-time paper should hydrate its embedded content without discarding and regenerating it. Locale punctuation is not guaranteed to be identical across browser engines.

      Width: 390x844 (also reproducible at 320, 768 and 1440).

Serve the current dist/ and open a fresh page in WebKit 27.2, collecting pageerror events.

The HTML time element initially contains "Monday, 26 October 2026"; the hydrated time text becomes "Monday 26 October 2026", and one pageerror reports "Minified React error #418".

This also occurs with all three intended Google Font families loaded; Chromium preserves the comma and reports no pageerror.

Expected: identical date text before/after hydration and zero hydration errors.

    • mediumRSS item links still send readers to the old deployment without issues 002–004dist/feed.xml:11

The previous RSS advisory remains reproducible. The four item links in dist/feed.xml and dist/assets/feed-BHU0HGvw.xml still use https://changelog-md-test.sites.imd.fun/ (lines 11, 24, 37 and 50). scripts/content.mjs:110 still sets that address as the default PAPER_SITE_URL. A fresh request to that host returned a paper whose embedded archive contains only issue 001, covering 28 September–4 October.

Therefore the No. 004 feed item for 19–25 October opens a site that cannot display that edition; the same applies to 002 and 003. The README describes an environment override, but the submitted export has not been rebuilt with an appropriate address. This is a misdirected-link advisory, not a hosting blocker.

Rebuild the feeds with the address at which this export will actually be hosted.

      1. Read the first item link in dist/feed.xml: https://changelog-md-test.sites.imd.fun/#no4.
      2. Open that URL in a browser with User-Agent IdentityMD-Review/1.0. Expected: No. 004, covering 19–25 October. Actual: the masthead says No. 1, the date line says Covering 28 September–4 October, there is only one edition tab, and the [role=status] element reads "That edition is not in the archive. Showing the latest issue." This was reproduced in Chromium.
      3. Independently run curl -A 'IdentityMD-Review/1.0' --fail --location https://changelog-md-test.sites.imd.fun/ and inspect script#issue-data: its issues array contains only no:1. The submitted dist/index.html, by comparison, embeds issues 1–4. The same broken destination appears in dist/assets/feed-BHU0HGvw.xml:11, which is the feed advertised by the HTML head.
    • lowGoogle Fonts still loads without an on-page disclosuredist/index.html:20

The previous advisory remains reproducible. dist/index.html lines 18–20 still preconnect to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com and load the Google Fonts stylesheet automatically. The footer in src/App.tsx and the exported page contains only the unofficial-paper disclaimer and RSS link; it does not disclose these external requests. README.md describes the dependency, but that is not a notice on the hosted paper.

Visitors contact Google before any interaction, exposing their IP address and browser request metadata. This is a low-severity privacy advisory, not a hosting blocker. Self-hosting the fonts or adding a short on-page disclosure would resolve it.

      1. Serve dist/ over HTTP and open it in a fresh browser with the Network panel open, without clicking anything.
      2. Expected: local fonts or an on-page disclosure of the external provider. Actual: Chromium requested the stylesheet from https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?... and font files from https://fonts.gstatic.com; all returned HTTP 200 before interaction.
      3. Read the footer: it contains only the unofficial-paper disclaimer and RSS link, with no font-provider or privacy notice. A static reproduction is rg -n 'fonts.g' dist/index.html, which prints lines 18–20. The same stylesheet link remains in index.html:20, and the footer source is src/App.tsx:307.
