Release Snipeproof (token symbol SNIP) on Sepolia as a univ4_hook launch.

Token: Snipeproof (SNIP), total supply 1,000,000,000 SNIP with 18 decimals, minted once to the deployer (a separate zero-argument ERC-20, no mint, owner or admin).

Hook: AntiSniperDecayHook, a Uniswap v4 hook on the token's native-ETH pool that taxes the first blocks after launch. afterInitialize records startBlock[poolId] = block.number and never reverts. Rate in bps for a swap in block b: 5,000 - floor(4,970 x (b - startBlock) / 1,000) while b < startBlock + 1,000 (50% in the init block), and 30 from startBlock + 1,000 on.

The fee is charged in the swap's input currency as that share of everything the swapper pays: exact-in (input specified): beforeSwap returns a positive specified delta of floor(|amountSpecified| x rate / 10,000), so the pool trades the rest; exact-out (input unspecified): afterSwap returns a positive unspecified delta of floor(poolInput x rate / (10,000 - rate)). Both directions pay.

The hook settles fees by minting itself ERC-6909 claims (poolManager.mint), never take() in a callback, so the first buy into the ETH-less pool works; partial fills revert (PartialFill). Accrued ETH and tokens have one destination: permissionless burnFees(currency) sends them to 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD inside the hook's unlockCallback.

Events: FeeCharged(poolId, blockNumber, rate, currency, fee).

Views: currentRate(poolId), startBlock(poolId), blocksLeft(poolId). Deploy shape, matching the live Sepolia hook launches 170 and 186 (168 passed the mainnet PoolManager and is not a model): AntiSniperDecayHook's only constructor argument is the Sepolia PoolManager 0xE03A1074c86CFeDd5C142C4F04F1a1536e203543; every rate, window and threshold here is a source constant; there is no owner, admin, setter, pause, upgrade or sweep, and no $owner or $token argument.

Permissions are exactly afterInitialize, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta (low address bits 0x10CC), all others false; the constructor calls Hooks.validateHookPermissions and the CREATE2 salt is mined for those bits.

The factory initializes the pool (currency0 native ETH, currency1 SNIP, fee 3000, tickSpacing 60) and seeds one-sided SNIP liquidity, so nothing in the hook may revert that initialize or that liquidity add (launch 138 was parked when a beforeInitialize gate reverted the factory), and the first buy lands in a pool that holds no ETH. All state is keyed by PoolId; a pool on this hook whose currency0 is not native ETH gets zero deltas and no other effect.

Every callback requires msg.sender == PoolManager.

Tests (Foundry, a real v4-core PoolManager deployed in the test, hook at a mined address): a launch rehearsal that initializes at the manifest price, seeds one-sided SNIP liquidity like the factory and makes the first buy into the ETH-less pool; exact-in and exact-out in both directions; dust amounts; a pool whose currency0 is not ETH; direct callback calls from a non-PoolManager address revert; fuzzed sizes; and specifically: the rate at startBlock, +1, +500, +999 and +1,000; the exact-out fee equals rate x total paid; a 50% fee never trips HookDeltaExceedsSwapAmount; burnFees sends each currency's claims to dEaD exactly; the hook's claims equal unburned fees (fuzzed).

An independent adversarial review (read-only) must attack: the rate formula and rounding at the boundaries, the exact-out formula, delta limits at a 50% fee, ways to dodge the fee (exact-out, another pool on the hook with its own window, splitting), and whether afterInitialize can revert the factory. It reports each finding with the exact call sequence that triggers it.

Website: one static page (dist/index.html) that reads the hook's views and events and the pool price through Uniswap's Sepolia StateView, with a buy/sell form that swaps through Uniswap's published Sepolia PoolSwapTest router (check it has code). It shows the current fee, the decay curve with the current block marked, blocks left until 0.3%, and the fee a typed swap would pay.

Also approved

Sepolia (11155111) only, launched as univ4_hook on the native-ETH pool the factory opens. GitHub publication and IPFS hosting are approved. Launch token: fixed supply of 1,000,000,000, 18 decimals, no constructor arguments, minted to msg.sender, no mint or admin. One hook; enable only the permission flags its logic uses and never revert the factory's pool initialisation or its one-sided seed. Like every hook launch that has gone live, the hook constructor takes exactly one argument, the Sepolia PoolManager 0xE03A1074c86CFeDd5C142C4F04F1a1536e203543; rates, recipients and the token are source constants or learned from the pool key, and there is no owner. Take any hook fee through return deltas (settled as ERC-6909 claims, paid out by pull) instead of assuming a dynamic-fee pool key. Where a swapper identity is needed, read it from hookData; a swap without valid hookData credits nobody (a router can never claim), and hookData is unauthenticated, which the README states. No external oracles or VRF, no proxies, delegatecall or selfdestruct. foundry.toml sets bytecode_hash = "none". Any website is a static export with index.html in dist/. Site label lab-anti-sniper-hook.

Build SNIP and AntiSniperDecayHook (permissions afterInitialize, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta; PoolManager-only constructor) with a launch-rehearsal Foundry suite and an independent adversarial review, deploy them through the factory on Sepolia, then build the one-page site against the live pool.

  3. Adversarial reviewAgent #420found 1 low, 2 info

    The findings file is in place at the repository root and is excluded from git by the workspace's own exclude rule, so no tracked file changed. The scratch tests I used were under the gitignored test/scratch/ directory and have been deleted.

    Verdict: no high or critical finding. The core math the assignment asked me to attack holds.

    What I verified and how

    • Rate formula and rounding. The rate at elapsed 0, 1, 500, 999 and 1000 is 5000, 4996, 2515, 35 and 30, matching the brief. The fuzz over all offsets confirms monotone decay and the floor. The block-zero edge is handled by the initialized flag.
    • Exact-out formula. I proved algebraically that floor(poolInput × rate / (10000 − rate)) always equals floor(total × rate / 10000), so exact-out pays exactly the same effective share as exact-in. A fuzz over outputs from 1 wei to 100M SNIP at the 50% rate confirmed fee equals pool input and total equals twice the fee with no revert.
    • Delta limits at 50%. Exact-in returns at most floor(amount / 2), so the amount left for the pool stays strictly negative and the vendored v4-core check for a hook delta exceeding the swap amount cannot fire. An exact-in buy of 2^127 − 1 wei succeeded with the fee exactly half and no int128 overflow. The exact-out path has no such check in v4-core, and the hook's own int128 guard covers the subtraction.
    • afterInitialize. It is two storage writes behind the PoolManager check, has no gate, and cannot revert the factory. The beforeInitialize revert is unreachable because bit 13 is not in the mined address.
    • Splitting. Loses at most one input unit of fee per swap in either mode. Not a practical dodge at 18 decimals.
    • Semantics the hook relies on. I read the vendored Hooks.sol to confirm afterSwap receives the raw pool delta, the specified and unspecified deltas map to the currencies the hook assumes, and the hook-as-sender skip is unreachable since the hook never calls swap.
    • ABI exports match the compiled ABIs for both contracts. The manifest's constructor argument, permissions, pool parameters and initial price match the source and the rehearsal fixture.

    Findings written to .imd-findings.json, ranked

    1. Low, design scope. The fee is dodged by providing liquidity next to spot. A SNIP holder placing a SNIP-only range just below spot was converted to 1.31 ETH by a taxed buyer while paying zero fee. A sniper placing an ETH-only range just above spot received about 1000 SNIP from a taxed seller for zero fee. Both reproduced in the launch block with exact call sequences. This cannot be fixed inside the approved permission mask, so it is a scope decision for the launch owner rather than a code change.
    2. Info. Anyone can pre-initialise the exact pool key once the hook exists, if the token address is predictable, which makes the factory's initialise revert with PoolAlreadyInitialized. Reproduced against the rehearsal fixture. The mitigation belongs to deployment ordering, not the hook.
    3. Info. Only the factory pool is protected. Other ETH/SNIP fee tiers on this hook get their own windows, hookless or non-ETH pools are untaxed. This matches the brief and is recorded because the assignment asked about it.

    What I did not do. I did not inspect the real Sepolia factory's token-address derivation, so the precondition for finding 2 is stated as something the deployer must check. I did not edit any source, test or manifest file.

    • lowFee is dodged by providing liquidity instead of swapping (both directions) - design-scope limitation of the approved permission setsrc/AntiSniperDecayHook.sol:46

      The hook only charges inside beforeSwap/afterSwap. The approved permission mask (0x10CC) has no liquidity callbacks, so a position added just next to spot acts as a tax-free limit order that is filled by the taxed counter-flow.

      Sell side: any SNIP holder (allocation recipients) adds a SNIP-only range immediately below spot and is converted to ETH by the 50%-taxed buyers, paying zero SNIP fee and earning LP fees on top.

      Buy side: a sniper adds an ETH-only range immediately above spot and is converted to SNIP by any taxed seller, paying zero ETH fee. Both were reproduced against the rehearsal fixture in the launch block. This cannot be closed inside the approved design: it needs beforeAddLiquidity (a different address mask) or accepting the gap.

      Recommendation is a scope decision by the launch owner, not a code change; if accepted, the README/site should state that the tax applies to swaps only. The workflow's requirement 'nothing in the hook may revert ... that liquidity add' and the fixed mask are the reason this is ranked low rather than higher.

      Setup: HookTestBase.setUp (pool at sqrtPrice 1000*2^96, tick 138162, seed SNIP-only in [-887220,138120]), lp = new PoolModifyLiquidityTest(manager), token.approve(lp).

      Sell-side dodge, all in launchBlock (rate 5000): (1) holder: lp.modifyLiquidity(key, ModifyLiquidityParams(138060, 138120, 1e24, 0), "") -> delta (0 ETH, -2,989,069.65 SNIP), no FeeCharged.

      (2) buyer 0xB0B: router.swap{value:5 ether}(key, SwapParams(true, -5 ether, MIN_SQRT_PRICE+1), TestSettings(false,false), "") -> hook claims currency0 = 2.5 ether.

      (3) holder: lp.modifyLiquidity(key, ModifyLiquidityParams(138060, 138120, -1e24, 0), "") -> delta (+1.3144801910 ETH, +1,685,731.55 SNIP).

      Result: holder net sold 1,303,338.10 SNIP for 1.31448 ETH; hook claims currency1 unchanged (0), i.e. the holder paid 0 instead of the 50% SNIP fee an exact-in sell would charge.

      Buy-side dodge, all in launchBlock: (1) sniper 0x5111: lp.modifyLiquidity{value:5 ether}(key, ModifyLiquidityParams(138180, 138240, 1e21, 0), "") -> delta (-0.002992662461886249 ETH, 0 SNIP).

      (2) any holder: router.swap(key, SwapParams(false, -2_000 ether, MAX_SQRT_PRICE-1), ...) -> seller pays 1,000 SNIP fee.

      (3) sniper: lp.modifyLiquidity(key, ModifyLiquidityParams(138180, 138240, -1e21, 0), "") -> delta (+0.001998444386982696 ETH, +999.999999999999999998 SNIP).

      Result: sniper holds 999.99 SNIP for a net 0.000994 ETH at market price; hook claims currency0 unchanged (0 ETH fee).

      Expected per brief ('Both directions pay'): a 50% charge on anything a swapper pays; actual: zero charge on the LP path.

    • infoSame PoolKey can be pre-initialised by anyone once the hook exists, which makes the factory's initialize revert (PoolAlreadyInitialized) - deployment ordering, not a hook defectsrc/AntiSniperDecayHook.sol:55

      afterInitialize itself cannot revert (two SSTOREs behind onlyPoolManager, no gate, verified) and beforeInitialize is never called because bit 13 is not in the address. However, PoolManager.initialize is permissionless and the hook has no initialisation gate by explicit design (launch 138 lesson).

      If the hook is deployed in an earlier transaction than the factory launch and the SNIP address is predictable (CREATE from the factory nonce, as in the rehearsal fixture, or a public CREATE2 salt), a third party can initialise the exact key {ETH, SNIP, 3000, 60, hook} first. The factory's own initialize then reverts inside PoolManager, not inside the hook, and the pre-initialised pool carries a window that started at the attacker's block.

      Nothing in the hook can or should prevent this under the approved requirements; the mitigation belongs to the deployer service: deploy the hook and run the factory launch in the same transaction or with the smallest possible gap, or make the token address unpredictable. Recorded so the deployer can plan for it; no code change requested.

      Rehearsal fixture: f2 = new LaunchFixture(manager); h2 = f2.deployHook(minedSalt); predicted = vm.computeCreateAddress(address(f2), vm.getNonce(address(f2))); attacker 0xA77 calls manager.initialize(PoolKey(ETH, predicted, 3000, 60, h2), 79228162514264337593543950336000) -> succeeds, h2.startBlock(id) = attacker's block.

      Then f2.launch(h2, 79228162514264337593543950336000, -887220, 138120, 900_000_000e18) reverts with Pool.PoolAlreadyInitialized (selector 0x7983c051).

      Expected: factory launch succeeds; actual: factory launch reverts.

      The real Sepolia factory's token-address derivation was not available to this review, so the precondition (predictable token address, hook deployed earlier) must be checked by the deployer.

    • infoOnly the factory pool is protected: any other ETH/SNIP pool (other fee tier on this hook, hookless, or non-ETH currency0) is untaxed or has its own windowsrc/AntiSniperDecayHook.sol:56

      Windows are keyed by PoolId as required, and a pool whose currency0 is not native ETH gets zero deltas as required.

      Consequence: SNIP that is outside the factory pool (deployer/allocation balances) can seed a second market with no tax (hookless key, or a WETH/SNIP or USDC/SNIP key on this very hook) or a market on this hook whose window can be started early.

      This matches the brief ('All state is keyed by PoolId'; non-ETH pools 'get zero deltas') and is not a defect in the implementation; it is recorded because the assignment asked specifically about 'another pool on the hook with its own window'.

      Splitting was also checked and is not a dodge: exact-in loses at most one input unit of fee per swap (floor), exact-out at most one, e.g. two 1-wei buys at 50% pay 0 where one 2-wei buy pays 1, and at 30 bps a 333-wei buy pays 0; gas dwarfs the saving at 18 decimals.

      (a) alt = key; alt.fee = 500; alt.tickSpacing = 10; manager.initialize(alt, 79228162514264337593543950336000) at launchBlock -> hook.startBlock(alt.toId()) = launchBlock, independent window (vm.roll(launchBlock+1000): currentRate(alt)=30, currentRate(id)=30).

      Initialising alt 1000 blocks before the factory launch (needs hook deployed and SNIP address known) gives it rate 30 while the factory pool is at 5000.

      (b) PoolKey(ETH, SNIP, 3000, 60, IHooks(address(0))) initialised by anyone: no hook, no fee.

      (c) PoolKey(SNIP-or-WETH ordering, ..., hook) with currency0 != address(0): hook returns zero deltas, no FeeCharged (existing test test_nonNativePoolNoStateNoFeesAndNoPartialFillGate).
