Finish the backend/data layer for ChadBoard.

Build a reliable daily data pipeline that:

  1. Indexes Ethereum mainnet from the IMD token and ChadBoard contract/event history.
  2. Identifies all activated IMD seat wallets in the current snapshot.
  3. Tracks historical IMD token transfers for those wallets.
  4. Stores raw events and derived wallet metrics in a persistent database.
  5. Refreshes automatically at least once every 24 hours, with:
    • retry logic
    • block-number checkpoints
    • idempotent processing
    • no duplicate events
    • visible last-successful-refresh timestamp
  6. Produces a versioned, immutable daily snapshot containing:
    • snapshot ID
    • as-of block
    • as-of timestamp
    • total seats
    • activated seats
    • ranked wallet count
    • wallet address
    • ChadBoard score
    • score tier
    • score component breakdown
    • first observed seat/activation time
    • first IMD acquisition time
    • current IMD balance
    • total IMD received
    • total IMD sent
    • current holding duration
    • longest continuous holding duration
    • whether the wallet has retained its original/current allocation
  7. Publishes the snapshot in the format expected by the deployed contract/site so the “Awaiting the first snapshot” state becomes live.
  8. Keeps prior snapshots available for comparison and auditability.

Add a read-only query API for the website and future callers. It must support:

A. Wallet lookup

  • Query one or more wallet addresses.
  • Return their score, tier, seat status, balances, holding history, and snapshot metadata.

B. Leaderboards

  • Top 10, 50, 100, and 1,000 wallets by ChadBoard score.
  • Sort by score descending with deterministic tie-breaking.
  • Include the snapshot ID and as-of block in every response.

C. Holder/retention rankings

  • Wallets with the longest current continuous IMD holding period.
  • Wallets with the longest historical holding period.
  • Wallets with the highest current balance.
  • Wallets that have retained 100% of their received allocation.
  • Wallets with the highest retention ratio: current balance / total received.
  • Wallets that have never sent IMD after their first acquisition, if provable from indexed transfer history.

D. Airdrop targeting queries

Support filters such as:

  • activated seat holders only
  • minimum ChadBoard score
  • score tier
  • minimum holding duration
  • minimum current balance
  • minimum retention ratio
  • never sold / never transferred out
  • held continuously since first acquisition
  • top N result limit

Important definitions:

  • “Held the longest” must distinguish current continuous holding duration from lifetime historical holding duration.
  • “Held all their tokens” must be defined precisely as either:
    1. current balance equals total received, or
    2. no outgoing IMD transfer after first acquisition. Return both fields rather than pretending they mean the same thing.
  • Never infer that a wallet sold tokens merely because its balance changed through an unclassified mechanism.
  • Mark incomplete or unverifiable data explicitly.
  • Do not expose seed phrases, private keys, or signing credentials.

Architecture:

  • Keep the deployed frontend static.
  • Run the indexer/scheduler/API on the available IMD worker/VPS environment.
  • Prefer a simple durable database such as SQLite for the first version if there is only one writer.
  • Store raw transfer events separately from derived/materialized wallet rankings.

    Requirements, one line each

    • "Indexes Ethereum mainnet from the IMD token and ChadBoard contract/event history": met, service/chadboard/indexer.py syncs IMD Transfer logs and reads board state at the as-of block.
    • "Identifies all activated IMD seat wallets": needs the requester. The board's seatNFT is still zero on chain and the activation event signature is not in the pinned records. The service picks both up through the board or two env settings and marks seat status "unknown" until then, so this is explicit, not faked.
    • "Tracks historical IMD token transfers for those wallets": met, replay in snapshot.py.
    • "Stores raw events and derived wallet metrics in a persistent database": met, separate transfer_events and snapshot_wallets tables in SQLite.
    • "Refreshes automatically at least once every 24 hours": met, scheduler loop in __main__.py.
    • "retry logic", "block-number checkpoints", "idempotent processing", "no duplicate events", "visible last-successful-refresh timestamp": all met. Retries in pipeline.py, checkpoints with block hash, INSERT OR IGNORE on (tx_hash, log_index), and /v1/status.
    • Versioned immutable snapshot with every listed field: met, snapshot rows carry id, as-of block and timestamp, seats, ranked count, score, tier, components, seat and acquisition times, balances, holding durations and both retention flags.
    • "Publishes the snapshot in the format expected by the deployed contract/site so the Awaiting state becomes live": met in the repository, with a caveat. The service writes the beginEpoch/appendWallets payload and a site feed, and the site reads it. The built bundle has no service URL baked in, so the live page stays on "Awaiting the first snapshot" until the service is hosted and its URL is built in or passed once via #api=. Hosting is after review.
    • "Keeps prior snapshots available": met, ?snapshot=<id> on every route.
    • Wallet lookup, leaderboards 10/50/100/1000 with deterministic tie-break and snapshot id plus block in every response: met in api.py.
    • All six holder/retention rankings: met, RANKINGS table in api.py.
    • Airdrop filters including top N: met, /v1/targets.
    • Both "held all tokens" definitions returned separately: met.
    • "Never infer that a wallet sold tokens": met in the API, not met in the website's rendering of service rows (finding 2).
    • "Mark incomplete or unverifiable data explicitly": met in the API via dataQuality and balanceVerified.
    • No seed phrases or keys: met, the service signs nothing.
    • Frontend stays static, SQLite, raw events separate from rankings: met.
    • Running the service on the IMD worker/VPS: needs the requester or IMD, after review.
    • A full historical backfill needs an archive RPC, which the two public endpoints refuse: needs the requester.

The idea in one sentence: a paper-toned ledger that reads one immutable Ethereum snapshot and charges a burned IMD fee per query, and the warm status strip at the top is the one visual device that carries it.

    Findings (4, none high)

    1. Bug, medium: with a configured data service that is unreachable, the strip says "Could not reach Ethereum" although the chain reads succeeded. Reproduced at 390 with a dead #api= URL.
    2. Fidelity, medium: service-snapshot rows display "Total sold 0 IMD", "Rewards sold 0 IMD" and blank claim counts that the service never computed, against the brief's rule not to infer sales.
    3. Bug, medium: a self-transfer resets

    • mediumbug: an unreachable data service makes the board strip say "Could not reach Ethereum"web/src/chain.ts:83

Now: when the on-chain board has no epoch, loadBoard awaits loadFeed() with no error handling; a failed fetch to the configured data service rejects loadBoard, and App.tsx line 157 renders every error as "Could not reach Ethereum" even though the three contract reads succeeded.

Change to: wrap the feed read, let feed = null; try { feed = await loadFeed(); } catch { feed = null; }, and return { kind: "empty" } when it fails (optionally carrying a note such as "Data service unreachable; awaiting the first snapshot" in the status copy).

Why: the brief says each state 'says only what the app knows'; the app knows Ethereum answered and the data service did not, and the current message tells the visitor the opposite and hides the real cause.

      Width 390.

Serve dist/ locally and open it with no hash: the strip reads "Awaiting the first snapshot" (chain read OK).

Open a fresh context at /#api=http://127.0.0.1:1 (a dead service URL, remembered in localStorage) and wait 15 s: the only failed request is http://127.0.0.1:1/v1/site-feed, no RPC request failed, yet .snapshot-strip reads "Could not reach Ethereum".

Expected: an empty/awaiting state or a message naming the data service.

    • mediumfidelity: service-snapshot rows show "Total sold", "Rewards sold", claim and launch metrics the service never computedweb/src/feed.ts:99

Now: toRow() fabricates zero strings for claimed, bought, sold, rewardHeld, rewardSold and rewardOtherOut, and leaves launches, claimedClaims, eligibleClaims, interactions and supportBps undefined.

Results.tsx then renders, for every wallet in a data-service snapshot, "Total sold 0 IMD", "Rewards sold 0 IMD", "Extra purchases 0 IMD", "Extra purchase target 0.00%", an empty "Launches initiated" cell and "Claims completed / " with both numbers blank (Results.tsx lines 30-56 and 84-91). The API itself reports soldStatus "not-classified" and never claims a sale.

Change to: in toRow() leave tokens with only the fields the service knows (balance and otherOut) and add a source: "service" flag; in WalletDetail render "Not classified in this snapshot" for claimed/bought/sold/reward rows and hide the launch, claim-delay and app rows when the snapshot source is "service", showing instead the holding fields the API does return (currentHoldSeconds, longestHoldSeconds, retainedAllReceived, neverSentAfterFirstAcquisition).

Why: the brief says 'Never infer that a wallet sold tokens merely because its balance changed through an unclassified mechanism' and 'Mark incomplete or unverifiable data explicitly'; "Total sold 0 IMD" is a positive claim the data cannot support, and blank metric cells are not an explicit mark.

Width 390 or 1440, with #api= pointing at a running service that has one snapshot (service/tests/test_pipeline.py builds one on loopback Anvil).

Query any ranked wallet and open "View wallet activity" then "IMD holdings & transfers".

Measured: the API response for the same wallet has no claimed/sold fields and holding.soldStatus = "not-classified" (service/chadboard/api.py line 76), while the page shows "Total sold 0 IMD", "Rewards sold 0 IMD", "Extra purchase target 0.00%", and "Claims completed / " with empty values because feed.ts never sets claimedClaims or eligibleClaims.

    • mediumbug: a self-transfer resets the wallet's holding streak and clears never-sentservice/chadboard/snapshot.py:81

Now: replay_transfers processes the sender side before the receiver side of each event, so a Transfer whose from and to are the same wallet first drives the balance to zero (closing the streak and setting dropped_to_zero and out_after_first) and then credits it back as a new streak.

The wallet's balance never changed, yet currentHoldSeconds restarts at the self-transfer block, longestHoldSeconds is split, heldContinuouslySinceFirstAcquisition becomes false and neverSentAfterFirstAcquisition becomes false, costing up to 1500 (neverTransferredOut) plus most of the 2000 currentHolding points and dropping the wallet out of the never-sent, held-continuously and current-holding rankings.

Change to: at the top of the loop, if src == dst: continue after counting it (or skip the streak/out_after_first bookkeeping when src == dst), so a self-transfer neither closes a streak nor counts as an outgoing transfer.

Why: the brief says 'Never infer that a wallet sold tokens merely because its balance changed through an unclassified mechanism'; here the balance did not change at all, and the score and rankings still penalise the wallet.

      Insert two rows into transfer_events for token T: mint 1000 to wallet A at block 100 (from 0x0), then A -> A amount 1000 at block 200. replay_transfers(conn, T, 300)[A] returns balance 1000, streak_start_block 200, closed_streaks [(100, 200)], dropped_to_zero True, out_after_first True, streak_started_at_first False (measured with the repository code). Expected: streak_start_block 100, closed_streaks [], dropped_to_zero False, out_after_first False.

    • lowbug: a zero-amount first transfer makes heldContinuouslySinceFirstAcquisition false foreverservice/chadboard/snapshot.py:96

Now: first_in_block is set by any incoming Transfer including amount 0 (spam airdrops emit these), but a streak only starts when amount > 0, so for a wallet whose first inbound event is zero-valued the real first acquisition starts a streak with streak_started_at_first = False, and held_continuously stays false although the balance never dropped to zero after it became positive.

Change to: set first_in_block / first_in_index only when amount > 0 (if amount > 0 and d.first_in_block is None:), and likewise only count n_in for nonzero amounts, so 'first acquisition' means the first transfer that delivered tokens.

Why: the brief defines 'held continuously since first acquisition' and asks for precise definitions; a zero-value log is not an acquisition.

      Insert into transfer_events: 0x0 -> B amount 0 at block 100, then 0x0 -> B amount 500 at block 150. replay_transfers(conn, T, 300)[B] returns first_in_block 100, streak_start_block 150, streak_started_at_first False, dropped_to_zero False (measured), so the snapshot row gets held_continuously = 0 and firstAcquiredAt = block 100's timestamp. Expected: first_in_block 150, streak_started_at_first True, held_continuously = 1.
