Use IMD Radar as a supplementary ecosystem data source where it improves coverage, but do not make it the sole authority for ChadBoard rankings.

Use structured API endpoints, not HTML scraping:

Add an optional IMD Radar adapter that:

  1. Imports and caches:

    • seat number
    • agent ID
    • owner wallet
    • online/status state
    • accepted/rejected/failed/pending work
    • latest work timestamp
    • launch participation
    • launch reward and unclaimed-reward data
    • wallet-to-seat relationships
  2. Stores the raw Radar response with:

    • source URL
    • retrieval timestamp
    • response hash
    • schema/version marker
  3. Uses Radar to bootstrap or cross-check:

    • seat-to-wallet mapping
    • active seat status
    • swarm job/activity metadata
    • launch reward history
    • launch participation
  4. Does not use Radar as the authority for:

    • ChadBoard score
    • immutable snapshot ordering
    • historical IMD transfer accounting
    • current IMD balances
    • proof that a wallet sold or retained tokens
  5. The authoritative ranking snapshot must still be calculated from:

    • Ethereum contract state
    • Ethereum event logs
    • the ChadBoard contract
    • the IMD token Transfer history
  6. When Radar and Ethereum disagree:

    • preserve both values
    • mark the conflict explicitly
    • prefer the as-of-block Ethereum value for financial and ranking calculations
    • never silently overwrite one source with the other
  7. Add source fields to API responses:

    • source: ethereum | imd-radar | merged
    • sourceRetrievedAt
    • asOfBlock where applicable
    • dataQuality
    • conflict flag/details where applicable
  8. Add tests for:

    • Radar API unavailable
    • malformed Radar response
    • stale Radar data
    • wallet mapping disagreement
    • duplicate seat/wallet relationships
    • Radar launch data with low-liquidity tokens excluded

The site must remain functional if IMD Radar disappears. Radar is an enrichment and bootstrap source, not a hard dependency.

An archive-capable Ethereum mainnet RPC has been configured on the worker as ETH_ARCHIVE_RPC_URL - https://eth-mainnet.g.alchemy.com/v2/alch_CVe3_ZPG2ZiUPYDNxSMsy

Use it only for historical backfill and deep event queries. Keep the value server-side and never print, commit, expose, or include it in the frontend bundle.

Before indexing:

  1. Verify the variable exists without printing its value.
  2. Query a historical block older than the current public-RPC retention window.
  3. Verify IMD Transfer logs can be fetched across the required historical range.
  4. Estimate the number of RPC requests and expected backfill duration.
  5. Run a small dry-run before starting the full backfill.
  6. Store block checkpoints and resume safely after interruption.
  7. Report the exact historical start block, end block, wallet count, event count, and any gaps.

Implemented optional Radar caching, provenance, conflict handling and source lookup while preserving Ethereum ranking authority. Updated dist/, README and DESIGN.md.

Validation passed: production build, typecheck, 19 backend tests, 10 frontend tests, 18 Chromium checks and 16 design checks. Protected files unchanged; deliverable content is under 2.6 MB.

Full backfill remains incomplete: the provider’s 10-block query cap implies approximately 22.7 hours. Historical samples and exact gaps are documented. WebKit could not open a usable page.

Saved .imd-findings.json with two reproducible backend defects:

    • bug: A self-transfer falsely resets continuous IMD holding. A full-balance self-transfer leaves 100 IMD held but changes a 120-second holding period to 60 seconds. Apply transfers atomically when updating holding streaks.
    • bug: Bounded backfills rank seats from the wrong historical contract. A snapshot at block 110 uses a seat contract configured at block 150, ranks the wrong wallet, and creates a false Radar disagreement. Resolve the seat source again after determining the snapshot block.

Both findings include exact source snippets, measured results, and reproduction instructions. No application files changed.

The visual idea is an Ethereum wallet-ranking tool with a prominent purple query action and restrained data presentation.

    • mediumbug: a self-transfer falsely resets continuous IMD holdingservice/chadboard/snapshot.py:79

Now: replay_transfers subtracts the full amount from the sender before crediting the same recipient, recording a zero-balance transition for a self-transfer even though the wallet balance is unchanged.

Change to: apply each Transfer atomically to holding-state transitions; when sender equals recipient, preserve the ongoing streak and dropped_to_zero flag while retaining any documented gross transfer counters.

Why: the authoritative Ethereum snapshot must accurately report holding history; an internal ordering artifact must not make continuous holders fail heldContinuously filters or lose holding-duration score.

Width: not applicable (backend; affects results at all viewport widths).

With PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1 and PYTHONPATH=service:service/tests, instantiate test_radar.RadarTests, call setUp(), then snapshot().

That fixture mints 100 IMD to A at block 90 and builds block 100 with 12-second blocks.

      Insert a transfer_events row (tx_hash=0x followed by ef repeated 32 times, log_index=3, block_number=95, block_hash=test_radar.HASH, token=cfg.token, from_address=A, to_address=A, amount=100000000000000000000).

      Call build_snapshot(conn, FakeChain(), cfg, FakeChain().block(100), NFT, {"configuration":1}), then Api(conn,cfg).wallets([A], snapshot_id).

      Actual: balance remains 100 IMD but currentHoldSeconds=60, longestHoldSeconds=60, heldContinuouslySinceFirstAcquisition=false.

Expected: both periods remain 120 seconds and heldContinuouslySinceFirstAcquisition=true because ownership never changed.

Call tearDown() to remove the temporary database.

    • mediumbug: bounded backfills rank seats from the wrong historical contractservice/chadboard/pipeline.py:83

Now: refresh_once resolves nft from the current finalized board configuration, then clamps asOfBlock to the backfill checkpoints. It rereads board_state at that older block but keeps the newer nft when building the seat census and ranking.

Change to: resolve the seat NFT again from the final as-of-block board_state, ensure that source is indexed through that block, and only then build the snapshot; recompute the observation block if its checkpoint requires it.

Why: a historical snapshot must use the ChadBoard contract state at its declared block. Otherwise its Ethereum seat mapping, ranked wallet set and subsequent Radar conflict comparisons describe a different source contract.

Width: not applicable (backend; affects API results at every width).

With PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1 and PYTHONPATH=service:service/tests, use test_radar.RadarTests.setUp() and snapshot() to seed A=0x1111111111111111111111111111111111111111 owning activated seat 1 on NFT=0x3333333333333333333333333333333333333333, with the IMD checkpoint at block 100.

Add seat_events for another NFT=0x4444444444444444444444444444444444444444: seat 1 transfers from zero to B=0x2222222222222222222222222222222222222222 at block 93 and is activated at block 94.

Set both NFT checkpoints to block 100.

      Set max_blocks_per_run=10.

      Ingest swarm(A) through Radar.ingest(SWARM, json.dumps(swarm(A)).encode(), NOW).

Call refresh_once using a FakeChain subclass with chain_id()=1, finalized_block(_)=block(200), get_logs_adaptive(address,topics,first,last,chunk) yielding (first, last,[]), and eth_call(to,data,block) returning the original NFT as a 32-byte word for seatNFT selector 0x3a3e7ca4 below block 150, the newer NFT at/after 150, and a 32-byte integer 1 for other getters.

Patch only write_publication and Radar.refresh to return {} (no external writes or fetches).

Actual after the real sync functions advance checkpoints: asOfBlock=110, metadata.board_state.seatNFT=0x3333...3333, but metadata.seatNFT=0x4444...4444; leaderboard contains B and declares an ethereum-radar-disagreement preferring B over Radar A.

Expected: at block 110 the board still uses 0x3333...3333, so A must be ranked, both source fields must agree, and this ownership conflict must not exist.

Call tearDown() to remove the temporary database.
