Create a detailed travel itinerary for a trip starting December 2 from Brussels to Mumbai by flight, including flight options and timings. Include hotel stay near Kailash Temple in Mumbai for 2 nights. Next, find train schedules for Mumbai to Hampi with suitable departure and arrival times, then hotel stay in Hampi for 3 nights. Afterward, find train schedules from Hampi to Hyderabad with timings and a stay of 1 to 2 nights in Hyderabad near key city attractions. Finally, provide flight options and schedules from Hyderabad to Hat Yai, Thailand. Include train numbers, durations, and suggested departure times along with flight numbers and durations. Present the schedule day by day, with practical connections. Write the itinerary in English.

Brussels → Mumbai → Hampi → Hyderabad → Hat Yai: day-by-day itinerary from 2 December 2026

Research date: 9 October 2026. All times are local to the place named. Train and flight times are published schedule times as reported by the sources listed at the end, not confirmed bookings. Every schedule used here should be rechecked against IRCTC/NTES (trains) and the operating airline (flights) when booking, because Indian Railways and airlines change timetables seasonally and several sources disagreed by a few minutes.

How to read this document:

  • Fact = stated by a cited source (schedule page, airline page, airport page, hotel listing).
  • Inference = my calculation or judgment built on those facts (e.g. a layover length, a weekday, "this connection works").
  • Uncertain = sources conflict, or the only source is old or a third-party tracker.
  • Open question = something only the traveller can decide or that I could not resolve.

0. One important ambiguity: "Kailash Temple in Mumbai"

Fact. The well-known Kailash (Kailasa) Temple is Cave 16 at the Ellora Caves, in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district (formerly Aurangabad), roughly 330 km by road from Mumbai. It is closed on Tuesdays and open about 09:00 to 17:00/17:30 [S-K1, S-K2]. Hotel-booking engines that match "Kailash Temple" return hotels in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's CIDCO area, not Mumbai [S-K3].

Fact. I found no notable Hindu temple called "Kailash Temple" inside Mumbai. The only Mumbai hits for that name were a lassi shop in Dadar listed as "Kailash Mandir" and a restaurant chain called Kailash Parbat [S-K4].

Inference. The brief most likely means the Kailasa Temple at Ellora, which cannot be "in Mumbai" for a 2-night stay. I therefore give two versions of Days 2–4:

  • Plan A (default, stays in Mumbai). Two nights in South Mumbai near CSMT station, which is where the Hampi train leaves from. This is the plan the day-by-day table follows.
  • Plan B (Ellora variant). Use the same two nights in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, visit the Kailasa Temple on Day 3, and return to Mumbai CSMT on Day 4 in time for the same evening train. It fits the same calendar with no extra nights.

Open question. Which plan the traveller wants. If a specific small temple in Mumbai was intended, tell me its locality and I will re-select the hotel.

Weekdays are computed from the calendar (inference, verified with the system date command). The train running days below are checked against these weekdays.

A 1-night Hyderabad option is given in Day 10 (fly out the night of 11/12 Dec instead), which shifts arrival in Hat Yai to 12 Dec.

2. Day by day

Day 1 — Wednesday 2 December: Brussels → Mumbai

Fact. No airline currently flies nonstop Brussels–Mumbai. Skyscanner's route pages contradict each other (one says Singapore Airlines flies "direct", the reverse page says no direct flights) and Air India has no Brussels nonstop; all booking engines show one-stop itineraries via Gulf hubs or Lufthansa Group hubs [S-F1, S-F2, S-F3]. Inference: treat the route as one-stop only.

Three workable one-stop options, best first. Connection times are my arithmetic from the leg times (inference).

Option 1 (recommended): Emirates via Dubai — arrive Mumbai the next morning, daytime arrival.

LegFlightDepartArriveBlock timeSource
BRU → DXBEK18414:55 (winter) Wed 2 Dec~00:20 Thu 3 Dec~6 h 25 min[S-F4] (uncertain: summer sources show 15:20)
DXB → BOMEK50403:5508:25 Thu 3 Dec3 h 00 min[S-F5] (winter schedule from 25 Oct 2026)

Layover ≈ 3 h 35 min at Dubai (inference). Total door-to-door ≈ 13 h (inference). Arriving 08:25 gives a full first day and a normal hotel check-in time. Uncertain: EK184's winter departure (14:55) comes from a single March 2026 operation on a tracker; the planned summer time was 15:20. Either way the EK504 connection holds. EK500 (21:40 → 02:15) is the alternative Dubai–Mumbai leg if you want to spend the evening in Dubai [S-F5].

Option 2: Etihad via Abu Dhabi — overnight arrival.

LegFlightDepartArriveBlock timeSource
BRU → AUHEY5809:55 Wed 2 Dec19:25 Wed 2 Dec~6 h 30 min[S-F6] (Etihad NW26 filing reported by Aviation24)
AUH → BOMEY20621:15~02:05 Thu 3 Dec~3 h 20 min[S-F7] (tracker data, Oct 2026)

Layover ≈ 1 h 50 min (inference). Etihad's published minimum connection at Abu Dhabi is 45 min for most flights [S-F8], so this is a legal connection on one ticket. Arriving at 02:05 means you need the Mumbai hotel room from the night of 2/3 Dec, i.e. effectively three hotel nights or a pre-arranged early check-in (inference). EY204 (14:20 → 19:05) is the daytime alternative if you stop over in Abu Dhabi [S-F7].

Option 3: Lufthansa via Munich — arrive late the same evening.

LegFlightDepartArriveBlock timeSource
BRU → MUCLH2283~08:00–09:05 Wed 2 Dec~09:50–10:30~1 h 15 min[S-F9] (tracker history to May 2026; uncertain)
MUC → BOMLH76611:40 (from 25 Oct 2026)23:55 Wed 2 Dec~7 h 45 min[S-F10]

Arrives on the night of 2 Dec, so the hotel is needed from 2 Dec (three nights) unless you treat 2/3 Dec as night 1 and leave on 4 Dec, which the daily Hampi train allows (inference). Lufthansa also lists Brussels–Mumbai fares from €730 for 2 Dec [S-F2]. Lufthansa's Frankfurt leg LH756 (FRA ~13:00 → BOM ~00:30–01:00) is a further alternative [S-F10].

Qatar Airways via Doha (not recommended on 2 Dec). QR194 leaves Brussels 14:55 (winter) and reaches Doha 23:05 [S-F11]. The only Doha–Mumbai flight I could confirm, QR556, leaves Doha at 20:30 and arrives Mumbai 02:35 next day [S-F12], so it departs before QR194 lands. Qatar does operate other Doha–Mumbai frequencies but I could not confirm their current times (uncertain), so check qatarairways.com before choosing this.

Practical: Indian visa. Belgian and most EU passport holders need an Indian e-Visa obtained before departure (fact in general terms; verify category and processing time on the official portal indianvisaonline.gov.in). Pack a printout of the e-Visa and of the train e-tickets.

Day 2 — Thursday 3 December: arrive Mumbai; check in (Plan A) or continue to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Plan B)

Plan A (Mumbai).

  • 08:25 arrive BOM Terminal 2 (Option 1). Prepaid taxi or ride-hail to South Mumbai, roughly 60–90 min depending on traffic (inference, no source).
  • Hotel: 2 nights, 3–4 Dec, in Fort/Colaba, close to CSMT station and the Gateway of India. Candidates from the listings: Residency Hotel Fort (rated 8.6/10 from ~975 reviews on Hotels.com), The Ambassador (Churchgate), InterContinental Marine Drive, Grand Hotel (Ballard Estate), Sea Palace Hotel (Colaba) [S-H1]. Prices and availability were not checked (uncertain). Fort/Colaba is chosen because the Day 4 train leaves from CSMT, which is a short taxi ride away (inference).
  • Afternoon: Gateway of India, Colaba Causeway, Marine Drive at sunset.

Plan B (Ellora variant).

  • 08:25 arrive BOM; taxi to Mumbai CSMT (allow 90 min).
  • 12:10 train 12071 Jan Shatabdi Express CSMT → Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), arrives 18:25, daily, about 6 h 15 min [S-T1].
  • Hotel: 2 nights, 3–4 Dec. Near-temple options from the booking listings: Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Rama International (5-star, ~0.4 mi from the CIDCO "Kailash Temple" point used by Expedia), The Fern Residency, Ambassador Ajanta [S-K3]. Near the caves themselves: Hotel Kailas in Ellora village, Hotel Tulsi Inn (0.9 km from the caves) [S-K2]. Staying in the city keeps you near the station for Day 4 (inference).
  • Risk: the airport-to-CSMT-to-12:10 connection is about 3 h 45 min after landing; a delayed flight breaks it. The 06:40 Option 2 or 23:55 Option 3 arrivals make this safer (inference).

Day 3 — Friday 4 December: Mumbai (Plan A) or Ellora Caves (Plan B)

Plan A. Elephanta Caves: ferries from the Gateway of India start at 09:00, last outbound boat between 14:00 and 15:30 depending on source, last return 17:30, ~1 h crossing, closed on Mondays (4 Dec is a Friday, so open) [S-M1]. Afternoon: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya museum, Kala Ghoda, and a look at CSMT station itself (a UNESCO site), which also lets you locate your platform area for tomorrow.

Plan B. Ellora Caves are ~30 km / ~45–60 min from the city; open 09:00–17:00/17:30, closed Tuesdays (4 Dec is a Friday); foreign-national ticket ₹600; allow at least 90 minutes for the Kailasa Temple (Cave 16) alone and go in the morning for the light on the east-facing temple [S-K1, S-K2]. Hire a car for the day. Optional: Daulatabad Fort on the way back.

Day 4 — Saturday 5 December: Mumbai → overnight train to Hosapete (Hampi)

Fact. Train 11139 Mumbai CSMT – Hosapete SF Express is the only direct Mumbai–Hospet train. Daily. Departs Mumbai CSMT 21:20, Dadar 21:33, Pune 01:05, Solapur 05:05, Gadag 10:40, arrives Hosapete Jn (HPT) 12:50 next day. 844 km, 15 h 30 min. Classes: 1A, 2A, 3A, SL, CC [S-T2, S-T3]. Other trains to Hosapete from the Mumbai area start at Kalyan or Bhiwandi (e.g. 16533, departs Kalyan 22:45, arrives Hosapete 16:20) and are slower [S-T3].

Plan A. Check out (ask for late checkout or luggage storage). Day free: Dhobi Ghat, Haji Ali, or a Dharavi walk. Be at CSMT by 20:30. Dinner before boarding; the train has pantry/vendor service but carry water and snacks (inference from general practice).

Plan B. 09:35 train 12072 Jan Shatabdi Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar → Mumbai CSMT, arrives 16:50 (daily) [S-T1]. That gives 4 h 30 min at CSMT before 11139 departs from the same station at 21:20 (inference). Store bags in the station cloakroom and have dinner in Fort.

Booking note (inference from how IRCTC works): reserve 2A or 1A on 11139 as soon as the booking window opens (60 days ahead, i.e. from 6 October 2026 for a 5 December journey), as this is the only direct train and December is high season in Hampi.

Day 5 — Sunday 6 December: arrive Hampi

  • 12:50 arrive Hosapete Jn. Hampi is about 13 km away; autorickshaw or taxi takes about 30 min; agree the fare before starting [S-T4]. Some guesthouses (e.g. Gopi) offer station pick-up [S-H2].
  • Hotel: 3 nights, 6–8 Dec. Three tiers, all cited from listings; rates not checked (uncertain):
    • Walk to Virupaksha Temple (Hampi Bazaar): Gopi Guest House (rooftop restaurant, scooter/bicycle hire, free breakfast, station pick-up), Padma Guest House (family-run, next to the temple), Netra Guest House (basic, riverside) [S-H2, S-H3].
    • Mid-range in Kamalapura, inside the heritage zone, ~4–5 km from the temple: KSTDC Hotel Mayura Bhuvaneshwari (the only hotel inside the World Heritage Site area per KSTDC), Clarks Inn Hampi (pool) [S-H4].
    • Resort: Evolve Back Hampi (~14 min drive, two pools), Heritage Resort Hampi (~10 min drive) [S-H3].
  • Afternoon: Virupaksha Temple and Hemakuta Hill for sunset.

Day 6 — Monday 7 December: Hampi, royal centre

Full day by hired autorickshaw or bicycle: Vitthala Temple and the Stone Chariot (shuttle buggies from the car park), the Royal Enclosure, Lotus Mahal and Elephant Stables, Queen's Bath. The Archaeological Museum in Kamalapura is a useful 30-minute stop. (Itinerary content is my suggestion, not sourced.)

Day 7 — Tuesday 8 December: Hampi, river and Anegundi

Coracle/boat across the Tungabhadra to Anegundi and Anjaneya Hill for sunset, or Matanga Hill at sunrise. Keep the day light so you are rested for tomorrow's late train. Confirm with the guesthouse that you can keep the room until the evening of 9 Dec or store bags.

Day 8 — Wednesday 9 December: Hampi → overnight train to Hyderabad

Fact. Train 12649 Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express departs Hosapete Jn 22:50, arrives Kacheguda (KCG), Hyderabad 08:05 next day, about 9 h 15 min. Running days from Hosapete: Sun, Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat [S-T5, S-T6]. 9 December 2026 is a Wednesday, so it runs (inference from the calendar). Uncertain: Trainman gives 10 h 13 min and says "not Tue/Thu", which matches the ConfirmTkt day list; Paytm's day list differed. Re-check on IRCTC when booking.

Backup if 12649 is sold out: 17040 Vasco–Secunderabad Express, Hosapete 16:45 → Secunderabad 04:00, runs Thu and Sat only [S-T5, S-T6], so the backup would mean leaving on Thursday 10 Dec and arriving Friday 11 Dec at 04:00 (inference). Other Vasco/Belagavi–Hyderabad trains (17022, 17321, 17074, 17072) exist but run on single days of the week that do not match 9 Dec [S-T6].

Day plan: check out, spend the day at the Hampi sites you missed or at the Tungabhadra Dam near Hosapete, early dinner in Hosapete town, and be at the station by 22:15. Kacheguda is a city-centre station, about 4 km straight-line from Charminar [S-T7], which is why 12649 is the better choice than the Secunderabad-bound trains (inference).

Day 9 — Thursday 10 December: arrive Hyderabad; Old City

  • 08:05 arrive Kacheguda. Taxi to the hotel (10–30 min depending on area).
  • Hotel: 1 or 2 nights (10 Dec, optionally 11 Dec). Candidates from listings:
    • The Golkonda Hotel, Banjara Hills — listed as within about a 10-minute drive of both Charminar and Golconda Fort, rated 8.8/10 from 2,444 reviews on the listing [S-H5]. Inference: this is the best match for "near key city attractions" while staying in a comfortable neighbourhood; real drive times in traffic will be longer than 10 min.
    • Hyatt Place Hyderabad Banjara Hills (4-star, 8.4/10) and ITC Kohenur (luxury) for higher comfort [S-H5].
    • Treebo Trend Abinand Grand Kachiguda if you want to be next to the arrival station [S-T7].
  • Day: Charminar, Laad Bazaar, Mecca Masjid, Chowmahalla Palace, Salar Jung Museum (all within the Old City, a few km from Kacheguda; check Salar Jung's closing day, which is Friday, before swapping days).

Day 10 — Friday 11 December: Golconda and the tombs (2-night option) or departure (1-night option)

2-night option (recommended). Golconda Fort in the morning (allow 3 h), Qutb Shahi Tombs next door, evening sound-and-light show at Golconda or Hussain Sagar lakefront. Sleep in Hyderabad.

1-night option. Do Golconda in the morning, check out, leave the hotel about 22:00 and take the 01:10 flight on 12 Dec (Day 11 flight details below, shifted one day earlier). You then arrive in Hat Yai on Saturday 12 December at 11:35.

Day 11 — Saturday 12 December: Hyderabad → Hat Yai (overnight via Bangkok)

Fact. No airline flies Hyderabad–Hat Yai nonstop; Thai Airways is the main one-ticket option via Bangkok, with daily availability [S-F13].

Option 1 (recommended): Thai Airways via Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, one ticket.

LegFlightDepartArriveBlock timeSource
HYD → BKKTG33001:10 Sun 13 Dec06:15 Sun 13 Dec3 h 35 min[S-F14] (daily; one older source shows 01:30)
BKK → HDYTG23310:0511:351 h 30 min[S-F15] (daily; one guide shows 10:10)

Layover ≈ 3 h 50 min (inference). Earlier Bangkok–Hat Yai departures exist (TG231 06:05, TG259 07:00) but the 06:15 arrival makes them too tight; later ones (TG263 12:30, TG235 13:25 Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun, TG267 18:30) are fallbacks [S-F15, S-F16]. Note that the Thai domestic flight numbers reported by different trackers are inconsistent (TG2xx vs TG23x), so book the 10:05 departure by time and let the booking engine supply the number (uncertain).

Leave the Hyderabad hotel by about 22:00 on 12 Dec for a 01:10 departure (inference; international check-in closes 60 min before departure at HYD, verify with the airline).

Option 2: AirAsia via Kuala Lumpur, two AirAsia-group tickets.

LegFlightDepartArriveBlock timeSource
HYD → KULAK6823:55 Sat 12 Dec07:00 Sun 13 Dec~4 h 35 min[S-F17]
KUL → HDYFD309 (Thai AirAsia)14:5515:051 h 10 min[S-F18] (uncertain: 18:20 also reported)

Layover ≈ 8 h (inference), which is long but sits inside KLIA Terminal 2. Malaysia Airlines MH199 (00:25 → 07:20) is the full-service alternative for the first leg [S-F17]. AirAsia's own route page shows the 14:55 KUL–HDY flight [S-F18].

Option 3: IndiGo + Thai AirAsia, separate tickets, not recommended. IndiGo 6E1509 HYD 05:40 → BKK 10:55 is reported but only about 4 nonstops a week [S-F19]; Thai AirAsia's Hat Yai flights leave from Don Mueang (FD3108 14:15 → 15:45, FD3114 15:30 → 17:00, FD3110 17:35 → 19:05 and others) [S-F20], which means an airport change in Bangkok on separate tickets. Only use this if the Thai Airways fare is unreasonable.

Practical: Thailand entry. Belgian passport holders currently get visa-exempt entry for tourism; confirm the current exemption length and the Thailand Digital Arrival Card requirement on the Thai immigration site before travel (uncertain, not researched in depth).

Day 12 — Sunday 13 December: arrive Hat Yai

11:35 arrive Hat Yai International Airport (HDY). The airport is about 12 km west of the city; taxis and minibuses run to Hat Yai town, and onward connections exist to Songkhla, Koh Lipe (via Pak Bara pier) and the Malaysian border. End of the requested itinerary.

4. Uncertainties and open questions

  1. Kailash Temple location (Section 0). Decide Plan A or Plan B.
  2. Flight times are seasonal. The Emirates, Etihad, Lufthansa and Thai times are the winter-2026 or latest-tracked times, but EK184 (14:55 vs 15:20), LH2283 (only tracker history), FD309 (14:55 vs 18:20) and the Thai domestic flight numbering are uncertain. Confirm on the airline's site on the day of booking.
  3. Train timetables. 11139 and 12649 times were consistent across ConfirmTkt, RailYatri, ixigo and Paytm, but Indian Railways issues timetable changes and the Hosapete running-day lists for 12649 differed between sites. Verify on enquiry.indianrail.gov.in.
  4. Hotel prices and availability were not checked. All hotel names are candidates from booking-site listings; distances are as stated by those listings.
  5. Qatar Airways could not be made to connect with the one confirmed Doha–Mumbai flight; other Doha–Mumbai frequencies exist but were not confirmed.
  6. Visas: Indian e-Visa and Thai entry rules were not researched in depth and depend on the traveller's nationality.
  7. Traveller preferences not given: budget tier, number of travellers, train class, and whether the 1- or 2-night Hyderabad option is preferred.

The itinerary is complete and written to artifacts/report.md (untracked, as required), with a short README.md committed on main.

    What the report contains

    • Day-by-day plan, 2–13 December 2026, with weekdays verified so every train runs on its scheduled day.
    • Brussels → Mumbai: no nonstop exists. Recommended routing is Emirates EK184 (Brussels 14:55) to EK504 (Dubai 03:55 → Mumbai 08:25 on 3 Dec). Etihad EY58/EY206 (overnight arrival) and Lufthansa LH2283/LH766 (arrive 23:55 same day) are given as alternatives with layover arithmetic.
    • Mumbai → Hampi: train 11139 Mumbai CSMT–Hosapete SF Express, daily, 21:20 → 12:50 next day, 844 km, 15 h 30 min. Depart Sat 5 Dec, arrive Sun 6 Dec. Hampi is 13 km from Hosapete station.
    • Hampi, 3 nights (6–8 Dec): guesthouses walkable to Virupaksha Temple, mid-range KSTDC/Clarks Inn in Kamalapura, and resort options.
    • Hampi → Hyderabad: train 12649 Karnataka Sampark Kranti, Hosapete 22:50 → Kacheguda 08:05, about 9 h 15 min, runs Sun/Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat. Wed 9 Dec is a running day. Backup 17040 is noted.
    • Hyderabad, 1 or 2 nights: The Golkonda Hotel in Banjara Hills as the main pick, with higher-end and station-side alternatives.
    • Hyderabad → Hat Yai: Thai Airways TG330 (01:10 → Bangkok 06:15) and TG233 (10:05 → Hat Yai 11:35) on one ticket. AirAsia via Kuala Lumpur (AK68 + FD309) and an IndiGo/Thai AirAsia split-ticket option are listed with their drawbacks.
    • Facts, inferences, uncertainties and open questions are labelled throughout, and 37 citation tags point to 106 source URLs.

    One issue you should decide

The brief asks for a hotel "near Kailash Temple in Mumbai". The famous Kailasa Temple is at Ellora, about 330 km from Mumbai, and I found no notable temple of that name inside Mumbai. The report gives a default Mumbai plan (two nights in Fort/Colaba near the departure station) and an Ellora variant that fits the same dates using Jan Shatabdi trains 12071/12072. Either can be booked as written.

    Limits

Prices and availability were not checked. Several flight times came from third-party trackers that disagree by minutes, and the report flags each case for confirmation with the airline or IRCTC at booking time.
