Investigate whether a permissionless application on Robinhood Chain can currently provide liquidity using tokenized stocks and crypto assets. Record a precise research cutoff and retrieval time in UTC. Verify mainnet versus testnet availability, chain IDs, public RPC and explorer availability, accessible assets, published transfer and eligibility restrictions, available DEXs, and any confirmed Uniswap v4 deployments. Distinguish the Robinhood consumer application's products from assets and contracts accessible to an independent developer on the chain. Do not treat an announcement, private demonstration, testnet contract or unrelated deployment on another chain as evidence of a live permissionless mainnet capability.

Use official Robinhood developer documentation and announcements, official protocol deployment registries or repositories, and public chain explorers as primary evidence. Where public evidence exists, link contract addresses, pools and recent activity, noting chain, observation time and what the activity actually demonstrates. Identify token standards, contract-level transfer restrictions, redemption or ownership claims as documented, and whether access appears permissionless or subject to published onboarding or whitelisting. Do not determine any individual's legal eligibility. Separate announced features from functioning deployments and label claims as verified, announced, conditional or unverified. Failure to find evidence is not proof that something does not exist; describe the search scope and limitations.

Evaluate a concrete proposed application: an independently deployed treasury that holds accessible tokenized stocks and crypto assets, supplies them to DEX liquidity pools, and collects fees. For each required component, state whether it is possible now, conditional on a restriction or unavailable component, or unsupported by public evidence. Use at most five representative assets or applications to keep the investigation bounded. Include Base as a brief comparison using the same evidence standards; do not assume the same stocks, assets or rights are available on both networks.

Deliver artifacts/report.md with a short plain-English summary, a dated readiness table, a concise Base comparison and a justified conclusion, with main narrative under 2,000 words excluding references. Deliver artifacts/readiness.json with the cutoff, each assessed capability, network, evidence status, source URLs, relevant addresses, observed activity dates and limitations. Use at least six distinct source URLs, prioritizing primary sources. Check that the JSON parses and that classifications agree with the report. This is a one-time public-data feasibility study. No wallet connection, trades, deployments, paid external services or ongoing monitoring are requested.

What can actually be built on Robinhood Chain today?

Research cutoff: 2026-09-25T03:45:00Z Retrieval window: 2026-09-25T03:16:04Z – 03:40:00Z (UTC) Machine-readable companion: artifacts/readiness.json, which uses the same classifications.

Status labels: verified means confirmed by a primary source and/or my own on-chain reads during the window. Announced means officially stated but not confirmed on-chain here. Conditional means it works technically but depends on a published restriction, a discretionary control, or something I can't determine. Unverified means no adequate primary evidence was found (that is not proof it doesn't exist). Unsupported means the evidence in scope points the other way.

Plain-English summary

Robinhood Chain (an Arbitrum-stack L2) is live on mainnet as chain ID 4663. A testnet runs as 46630. Robinhood's 195 "Stock Tokens" are ordinary ERC-20 contracts on that mainnet. Any contract can hold and transfer them, and I found no allowlist. The official Uniswap v4 deployment is running there, and at the cutoff unaffiliated accounts were adding liquidity to a hookless META/USDG pool, removing it and collecting fees. Within 24 hours that pool saw 473 adds.

So the proposed treasury (hold stock tokens and crypto, LP on a DEX, collect fees) is technically possible today. It is conditional, not unconditional, for four reasons:

  1. The tokens may not be offered or sold to U.S. persons, and other jurisdictions are restricted.
  2. The issuer controls a deny-list, a pause switch, an admin-burn function and an upgradeable implementation that covers all stock tokens at once.
  3. Holders get economic exposure only. They have no legal or beneficial rights in the underlying shares, and only KYB-onboarded Authorised Participants can mint or redeem.
  4. LPs carry weekend/corporate-action gap risk.

This study does not assess anyone's legal eligibility.

Method and scope

  • On-chain: read-only JSON-RPC calls to the official public RPCs (rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com, rpc.testnet.chain.robinhood.com, mainnet.base.org): eth_chainId, eth_getCode, eth_call, eth_getLogs and eth_getStorageAt. The "can this address transfer?" checks were eth_call simulations only. No wallet was connected and no transaction was signed or sent.
  • Documents: Robinhood Chain docs, the official Robinhood asset registry API, Uniswap's official deployment registry, the Uniswap and Base blogs, base.org, and The Block/CoinDesk (secondary corroboration only).
  • Five representative items: META stock token, USDG, WETH, Uniswap v4 on Robinhood Chain (including the META/USDG 0.30% pool), and Coinbase's NVDAc on Base.
  • Limits:
    • docs.robinhood.com, robinhood.com newsroom/support pages returned HTTP 429 to direct requests. Robinhood docs were therefore read from Internet Archive snapshots dated 2026-08-20 and 2026-09-20/21, which may lag live pages. The newsroom and support pages could not be read at all, so consumer-app claims rely on docs and The Block.
    • The Robinhood mainnet explorer (Blockscout) served a Cloudflare challenge to non-browser requests, so verified source code was not checked. Contract behaviour comes from bytecode, selector lookups and simulations.
    • Public-RPC log limits mean activity counts are samples.

Findings: Robinhood Chain

Network (verified).

  • Mainnet eth_chainId returned 0x1237 (4663), with block 71,899,342 at 03:16:38Z. Block 1 is dated 2026-04-30, which is pre-public operation; public launch was reported for 2026-07-01 (The Block).
  • Testnet returned 0xb626 (46630).
  • The connecting docs list both chain IDs, ETH gas, the Blockscout explorer robinhoodchain.blockscout.com, and rate-limited public RPC/sequencer endpoints "not recommended for production". The docs recommend Alchemy and similar providers.
  • The public RPC worked for reads but returned 429s and capped logs at 10,000 per query. The explorer is documented but was not machine-accessible, so it is rated conditional.

Permissionless deployment (verified, by inference). Many unaffiliated tokens and hook contracts are live. In an 8.5-minute sample (03:09:45–03:18:11Z) the v4 PoolManager recorded 33 new pools, 9,133 swaps and 1,951 liquidity modifications. Most of that volume is non-stock tokens (memecoins). I did not deploy anything. Secondary sources claim the sequencer screens sanctioned addresses; that is unverified.

Stock Tokens: what they are (verified, documented).

  • Per the Stock Tokens docs, they are "tokenised debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited". They give economic exposure but do "not grant investors any legal or beneficial rights in, or against the issuer of, those underlying securities".
  • They are "standard ERC-20 tokens", with 18 decimals, per-asset Chainlink feeds, and an ERC-8056 uiMultiplier for dividends and splits.
  • Only Authorised Participants (at issuance only BBVI) may mint or redeem, after KYB, during a Mon 02:00 – Sat 02:00 CET window. "Developers build by composing with existing tokens rather than minting."
  • They "may not be offered, sold, or delivered… in the United States or to… U.S. persons". Offers are also restricted in Canada, the UK, Switzerland and other listed jurisdictions.
  • The official registry api.robinhood.com/rhj/assets returned 195 assets, all ASSET_STATUS_ACTIVE and all deployed only on chain 4663. It confirmed META 0xc0D6…2f35, TSLA 0x322F…3b2d, AMZN 0x12f1…bF54 and SPY 0x117c…4C0C.
  • The Token Contracts page warns that a same-ticker token at another address "is not a Robinhood Stock Token". It lists WETH 0x0Bd7…AD73 and USDG 0x5fc5…d168.

Stock Tokens: contract-level controls (verified on-chain; semantics partly inferred).

  • All sampled tokens are beacon proxies. They share beacon/registry 0xe10b6f6b275de231345c20d14ab812db62151b00, which points to implementation 0xb35490d6…5ae2.
  • The implementation bytecode exposes isBlocked(address), a Blocked(address) error, ACCESS_CONTROLLED_REGISTRY(), pause/unpause, tokenPaused, adminBurn(address,uint256), mint/burn, updateMultiplier and hasRole.
  • At the cutoff, paused() was false and isBlocked(PoolManager) was false. Simulated transfers of 0.001 META from an ordinary EOA holder to a fresh address, to 0x…dEaD and to the PoolManager all returned true.
  • Interpretation: a deny-list model rather than an allowlist, with strong issuer powers (pause, burn, upgrade) that can change behaviour for every stock token at once.

DEXs (v4 verified; others announced).

  • Uniswap's official v4 registry lists "Robinhood Chain: 4663". Bytecode is present at all four addresses I checked:
    • PoolManager 0x8366a39c…0951
    • PositionManager 0x58daec31…04fa7
    • Universal Router 0x88767899…0904
    • Permit2
  • The Uniswap blog (2026-07-02) says v2, v3, v4 and UniswapX are live. The v2 factory 0x8bceaa40…937f is in the v2 registry and has code. v3 addresses were not retrieved, so v3 is announced.
  • Robinhood's building guide names RFQ (0x, 1inch Fusion, LiFi), AMMs (Uniswap), a propAMM (Rialto) and Lighter. Only Uniswap was checked on-chain; the rest are announced.

Observed stock-token liquidity (verified).

  • META appears in 2,835 v4 pools. 2,626 of them use hooks, mostly a launchpad-style hook 0x4e3468…a544 pairing new tokens against META. 102 are against USDG, 23 against ETH and 1 against WETH.
  • The representative pool is USDG/META, 0.30% fee, no hook, poolId 0x5875d407…6e36, initialized 2026-07-11T12:18:48Z.
  • In the ~24 hours from 2026-09-24T03:41:40Z it recorded 24,564 swaps, 473 liquidity adds, 357 removes and 201 zero-delta modifications. Zero-delta modifications are the PositionManager's fee-collection pattern (that reading is an inference).
  • Latest add: tx 0xb9cce8b5…a46748 at 03:32:56Z, from 0x7d8e…2495, via the official PositionManager.
  • A fee-collect-pattern tx: 0x53f2a913…2492 at 03:15:17Z.
  • A sample of 17 recent adds came from 14 distinct senders, 10 of them EOAs.
  • The PoolManager held 3,845.6 of META's 7,780.4 total supply.
  • What this demonstrates: unaffiliated accounts can and do LP stock tokens and collect fees. It does not demonstrate profitability, depth, or that those accounts were legally eligible.

Consumer app vs developer access.

  • Consumer app: 24/7 Stock Token trading in the Robinhood app/Wallet for eligible users (reported as 120+ countries), Robinhood Earn (U.S.), Lighter perps and planned Agentic Accounts. These are account-based services behind onboarding.
  • Independent developer: the ERC-20 contracts, WETH/USDG, documented Chainlink feeds (feed addresses not verified here) and third-party DEXs.
  • A developer cannot mint or redeem, and cannot inherit the app's KYC.

Base comparison

Base (chain ID 8453 verified via mainnet.base.org) has the official Uniswap v4 deployment (PoolManager 0x4985…2b2b, in the registry, with code).

What's available:

  • Robinhood's Stock Tokens are not on Base: the official registry lists only chain 4663.
  • Base instead has Coinbase Tokenized Stocks (base.org/stocks, Base blog, 2026-08-27, CoinDesk, 2026-08-24). These are B20 protocol-level (precompile) tokens: the on-chain code is 0xef, with 8 decimals. base.org lists 10 addresses, while CoinDesk reports 13 names.

Rights and restrictions:

  • Rights differ: Coinbase describes "a beneficial claim on a real share". Robinhood explicitly disclaims any rights in the underlying.
  • Both are limited to non-U.S. eligible jurisdictions. Both restrict mint/redeem to KYC/KYB'd Authorised Participants.
  • B20 supports allowlist or blocklist transfer policies plus freeze/seize and pause. I did not read which policy these tokens bind.
  • At 03:38Z, a simulated NVDAc transfer from an EOA holder to a fresh address succeeded, so there was no receiver allowlist at that block.

Activity:

  • NVDAc had 2,920 transfers between 22:04Z and 03:38Z.
  • Its top recipients are USDC/NVDAc and USDC/METAc pool contracts (0x853f…7ab9, 0xeaf5…273e), from a factory I did not attribute. base.org names Aerodrome, KyberSwap, 0x and Matcha as venues.
  • The same treasury design therefore looks conditional on Base too. It has a different asset set, a different rights model and a different control framework, and I verified less of Base's DEX activity.

Conclusion

Facts (verified):

  • Robinhood Chain mainnet is live and permissionless for contract deployment.
  • Canonical stock tokens are transferable ERC-20s with no allowlist at the cutoff.
  • The official Uniswap v4 deployment is operating.
  • Unaffiliated accounts are LPing META/USDG and collecting fees.

Inferences:

  • Other stock tickers behave like META because they share one implementation.
  • Zero-delta modifications are fee collections.
  • A contract treasury can do what the observed EOAs and smart accounts do.

Main uncertainties:

  • The issuer's discretionary deny-list, pause, burn and upgrade powers.
  • The legal-eligibility perimeter (not assessed).
  • No redemption path for non-AP treasuries.
  • LP economics around 24/7 trading and multiplier changes.

Verdict: the proposed treasury is possible now, conditional on those restrictions. It is not an announcement-only capability.

Unanswered questions:

  • The exact scope of adminBurn and the deny-list roles (verified source not retrieved).
  • The full restricted-jurisdiction list.
  • Uniswap v3 addresses and activity on Rialto/Lighter.
  • The B20 policy bound to Coinbase stock tokens and the DEX behind the Base pools.
