Only 787 Units will ever exist, so be strict and fair.

Judge the candidate image for slot IU_0026. It must show: species BOT, skin colour lilac, eyes CYCLOPS, headgear HALO, outfit OVERALLS.

STYLE RULES the artist had to follow:

  1. 16 bit pixel art drawn on a 32 x 32 pixel grid, upscaled with hard nearest neighbour edges: visible square pixels, no anti aliasing, no gradients, no blur.
  2. Exactly one character, front facing bust, centered, shoulders reaching the bottom edge.
  3. Thick black outline around every shape.
  4. Solid very dark background #0c1610 (a few tiny green specks allowed). No scenery.
  5. Limited palette, chosen from: bone #f2efe6, steel #8a8f96, phosphor #39ff6a, moss #1b7a35, swamp #7cc84a, cobalt #6f7fe0, bubblegum #ea8bb6, tangerine #f0a04c, brick #df523e, gold #e8c548, lilac #b39cff, lagoon #4ecac0, rust #7a4a2a, navy #2b3a6b.
  6. No text, letters, numbers, signature, watermark, frame or border. Only exception: a tiny U plus I logo on a UI TEE.
  7. Collection look: small agent or robot like creatures of the Identity MD universe, cohesive with a 787 piece set. Score 0 to 10: brief (every trait clearly present), silhouette (readable as a small avatar), style (real pixel art, outlines, palette, dark background), originality (a character, not a template).

REJECT if any trait is missing, there is text or a watermark, it is not pixel art, or there is more than one character.

  1. Download it to a temporary location OUTSIDE the repo (for example: curl -L -o /tmp/candidate.png "https://api.imd.fun/artifacts/02de9962d27eccf18c505ba55480d800d653e4fdde998b327727c71febe8ae5f").
  2. Check its sha256 is 02de9962d27eccf18c505ba55480d800d653e4fdde998b327727c71febe8ae5f; if it does not match, REJECT.
  3. Look at the image. If you cannot view images directly, decode the PNG with code (size, pixel colours, shapes) and judge from that. Never reject only because the file is missing from the repo: it is at the URL above. Do not add the image to the repo.

I reviewed slot IU_0026 and accepted it. The review is in artifacts/review.json, which is valid JSON and not committed.

    What I checked directly

    • Download and hash: I downloaded the image to /tmp/candidate.png, and its sha256 matches 02de9962…e8ae5f.
    • Pixel data: I decoded the PNG with a small pure-Python script, because Pillow wasn't installed. It is 512×512 RGB and uses exactly 9 colours: #0c1610 for the background, #000000 for the outlines, and lilac, navy, steel, cobalt, bone, gold and phosphor, all from the allowed palette. There is no anti-aliasing and there are no gradients, and the 512 px size is consistent with a 32×32 grid at 16× scale. There are no green specks, which the rules allow but don't require.

    What I judged by eye

    • Traits:
      • Species and skin: a lilac robot head and shoulders.
      • Eyes: one large central eye, bone-white with a phosphor-green iris.
      • Headgear: a gold halo above the head.
      • Outfit: navy overalls with cobalt straps and gold buttons.
    • Composition: one front-facing bust, centred, with the shoulders reaching the bottom edge. Thick black outlines, no text, watermark or border.

I named the character "Lilac Halo".

    Where I was unsure

    • Halo: it is drawn flat, so it reads a little like a band rather than a ring. That's why the brief score is 9 and not 10.
    • Originality: the overall layout looks fairly standard, so I gave 7. That score is my opinion; the other judgements come from the image and the pixel data.

I didn't write the short README the reference material suggests, because the task said to write only the JSON.
